With a desire to already be naked, I surfed the internet until I came across Clothesfree forums.<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Originally posted by JD Rocks:

I was not really introduced to nudism. I just never felt comfortable in clothes. It wasn't until I lived on my own that I realized I liked being naked, either alone or with others.

Curiosity killed the pants.

I started on my own, out of curiosity I visited a nude beach, and been going ever since.

When I was a wee lad there was a pond about a 1/4 of amile in the woods and it was bought by a bunch of hippies (this was 1969 so, yes, they were hippies). They turned it into an honest to gosh commune complete with teepees and a prayer lodge and a huge fire circle and there was a lot of free love and fresh veggies and some of the best weed around and just about everyone was starkers.I thought I was in Shangrila. At first the whole notion of being naked (naturism wasn't invented yet)was very exciting to a 14 year old (nod, nod, wink, wink) but after the third or so visit the "taboo" part of it was taken out of the equation and it became second nature to me. I became so comfortable being nude that I would come home around dusk and wouldn't put my clothes on until just before walking in the house.(We lived on a farm in a very rural area) I believe my Mom knew where I'd been but didn't say anything and my Dad didn't care as long as the chores were done. It was a very positive thing for me so I grew up learning to love the lifestyle.

Sounds like a great place! (except for the drugs). If I had the money I would do something similar. A naturist commune would indeed be Shangri-la.

Actually, Naturism/nudism was "invented" almost a century earlier http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

PascoDoug,When I mentioned weed I meant it was "there" if you wanted it , by the same token tofu was "there" also but that wasn't to my taste either. As for "naturism" not being invented yet if you had mentioned you were a "naturist to Moonbeam or Starshadow they would have looked at you with their dialated gaze and asked, "Do you mean naked man?". Way differend breed back then.

I intend to create an environment like this somewhere nice and warm and away from "the man". And if you think that sounds obsurd, think about what most people are doing, working away half of their waking hours in jobs most of them don't really enjoy.

Wife and I belonged to a sportsmans club on 3300 acres, of old strip mine pits. We had our camper on one of the 7 major bodies of water, We had a beach on it and were almost always alone. It just became easy to be nude, swim, fish and enjoy the outdoors. Then the owner sold the place, and we've been trying to find another ever since!

This is included in my brochure for reluctant partners.

I was vacationing at a resort in the Caribbean. The first two days were spent on the beach sitting in a soggy swimsuit and being chafed by sand. I signed up for a day boat trip and picnic at a beach on an island away from the resort. As we were leaving, I discovered that the excursion was to an island with a nude beach! I decided to go anyway, thinking no way was anybody getting me out of my suit. I stood firm, and in fact, was the last person to give in and shed my swimsuit - I was the last one to get dressed to return to the resort. Why hadn't someone told me about this sooner? I was hooked, and that was over 30 years ago. The phrase, "nude when possible, clothed when practical," definitely describes me. I do wear at least shoes when vacuuming the house though as I have a habit of running over my toes with the vacuum cleaner.

I suppose that it just came naturally to me and I have been a nudist for many years secretly, but since exploring the internet and especially this forum I am now quite open about it and no longer feel "odd". So, thank you Clothesfree Forum!

I often went nude at times as a kid. Started skinny dipping in our pool after it was put in about 1971. Then started going nude inside the fence while working. Sought out potential nudist spots during trips to Europe on business.

Discovered N magazine. Think it was Clothed With The Sun back then. Joined and found out I wasn't alone. Went to a few non-landed events in NJ and continued to go to nude beaches in Europe and Oz and sailed nude in Singapore. These outings were my first meetings with others. All nice folks.

Got 2.2 acres that I could be nude on in Baton Rouge for 6 years. Now have 8.5 acres here and hike nude across about 40 to 50 other acres not used by others. Work nude on about 99% of my own property.

I started when I was about 12 or so and simply used to take my clothes off when my parents were not home. I enjoyed being in the house nude and I carried that on to sleeping nude too. I did stop this for some reason and revisited being nude at home after I got married and now here I am nude at the computer. I have been doing this for about 4 months or so.

Ii was skinny dipping at the creeks and ponds in the woods as early as twelve. i knew I loved it then. But I did'nt really ever go public until about 4 years ago, though I was nude as often as possible in between at home and in the yard and sleeping nude since 13.i wish I had known of the resorts and beaches long before 4 years ago, but now there's no going back,Hooked ever since, I just don;t get to go nearly often enough.

I grew up in a rural setting with 4 brothers and 2 sisters. We frequentled the local watering whole and often skinny dipped there with friends. As an adult, I continued my interest and enjoyment and have raised our kids in a nudist setting.

Even as a child I never did like to wear clothes. http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I didn't realize that there was such a large community of like-minded individuals until I got older (never actually did grow up). I've been nude as much as possible ever since.

I was working at a gas station at 16 and was given a nudist magizine by a customer. After looking at the magizine-I started going nude when ever I could at home. Married to a non nudist but go nude often. My goal is to retire at a nude resort and live my life naked till I die.

I very much wish there were more opportunities for me as well. I will be traveling about 5 hrs. to East Carolina University to lecture to, I think, 6 Sociology classes of @ 100 undergrads in each classroom. I'm just hoping I have enough $ for the trip.

I heard someone being interviewed on a CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corp) radio program a couple of years ago. He was from the FCN (Federation of Canadian Naturists) and was talking about the benefits of social nudism. He refered to the FCN website and I believe that lead me to this site. It was cool to see other people who were interested in nudism/naturism (I didn't know that label until then).

I grew up in a home where we were expected to be clothed when outside the bathroom or our bedroom. I think that had there been a more friendly view towards nudism in our home, I would have tried this years ago! http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I have only recently been able to participate in a social nude situation. I participate on a Canadian message board and discovered that someone I knew posted in there too. It was somewhat weird, yet also good since I knew him to be a good person. We went out to dinner with him and his wife, as well as another couple from the boards. Then we went to his home for the hot tub. It was great! We are going back tonight. He and his wife have some ideas for a possible non-landed club in our area. That would be kind of neat since this is a fairly remote area, and a smallish city.

Like others have stated, I wish I had encountered this before. Well I guess I did though and it wasn't positive. There was a landed club near where I worked years ago. A man who worked at my employer was a regular at the club. He unfortunately, was not a good role model for me and so I did not pursue that. After all a "nudist colony" was for wierdos right? http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Cheri, I saw your film clip. It is nice to see naturism being promoted like that. It was also neat that the man from the FCN was spreading the word, and on CBC no less!

When I was 10 years old or so, a bunch of us boys used to go into the woods not too far from home, take off our clothes, and play all day long... tag, hide and seek, climbing trees, etc. Sometimes there were just a couple of us, other times up to six or seven. I don't think we thought of ourselves as nudists. It was just something daring and "secret" to do. And like some many others here, I would also go naked at home at every opportunity, if my family was away.

Once I got older and got an old junker car, I started going to our nude beach whenever I could, usually with my girlfriend. Occasionally a guy I worked with and his girlfriend would join us.

Growing up on a farm in Minnesota we use to go down to the river skinng dipping with friends in our younger years. After growing up and getting married my wife and I went to a resort in nothern MN. and went in the hot tub nude, it was grate. We did this at other places that had a whirpool tub which wasn't to many times. Now, I am the only one that likes to be nude. I can't talk the wife in giving it a try. I would like to take her to a C/O resort. But every time I mention it she gets angry at me. So I just keep my mouth shut.
Love to be nude

I have always just been more comfortable nude. When I was living with Family, I couldn't wait for those times when they would be gone and I could be at home nude and relaxing. As I have mentioned before, once I got to college, it was a full time enjoyment. From there, I read books, found forums like CFF, and it just has evolved and become part of my life. I really introduced myself I guess! ;-)

Back as a pre teen I used to hang out at a local truck farm where all us guys would go to the irragation pond for a swim. We went nude there and it was fine with everyone. We camped and would be nude there allot also.

As life went on was more textiled, but getting past highschool, college years, military and all I slowly got back to nudism. I used to sit in the back yard on a picnic bench nude, could be seen from the street in my small postage stamp sized corner lot but after dark no one would notice.

As time went on I wore less and less at home until I was nude almost always here at home and bought other homes where I had the privacy to do that. Has worked out for me so far.

People seem to associate sex with nudism, but isn't so. I am mostly str8 and do not find sex with male friends necessare just to be nude anymore than mixed company. Is just part of my normal daily life.

I visited a nudist club in Indiana at the age of 18 after reading ads for it in the Chicago papers for almost two years. After that, I never looked back. Came home and tried to "convert" family and friends (unsuccessfully) and began living nude at home thereafter until today.

Most of my friends and family accept me as is and that is why they are still my friends.
