In the early days (of my nudistry) I had a voice inside that was like an inner gymnophobe telling me this was wrong and stupid and stuff, but now he's dead.
Did anyone else get that?

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you're asking. The voice told you WHAT was wrong? http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Sort of...I didn't personify it that way but I did go through years of second-guessing myself as to whether I really wanted to be a nudist, or whether I would rather remain one of the "normal" people. You see, nudism was more the realm of eccentrics and body fetishists who "paraded around" and lived in "colonies" and stuff. At least I used to think that. Now I know better.
My inner gymnophobe is also dead. R.I.P. and good riddance. http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The voices were telling me to get my gear off, not put it back on. So I guess no I didn't experience what you are talking about.

Pieguy,
You say your early days of "Nudistry?
I thought you said recently you had just turned double digits in age in the last few years.
In my early days of "Nudistry" my mother tried to keep diapers on me, and I often heard an Outer female voice "Keep you pants or diapers on" but I still managed to get out of them on occasion and even enjoyed running around "Au Natural" inside, outside, or even in public once in a while!
While "Gynophobia" might not have a gender, INA Clothesfree is #1 in World Wide Web search

Gymnophobia - the fear of seeing others naked and being seen naked.
a person who wants to prevent others from experiencing the freedom without clothes.

I've always loved going nude but I suppose I did have my moments of doubt. I suppose I went through times when I thought I must be weird or somehow warped for enjoying being nude outdoors. Later when my wife and I were going through marriage counseling it was a little uncomfortable explaining my love of nudism to the female counselor. I think I did manage to convince here and my wife that it wasn't anything sexual, though. Just a bit awkward discussing it in that kind of a setting. But eventually she even suggested my wife may want to think about joining me when I went and did this stuff, so I guess that was a validation of my nudist ways. Over time I have learned their is nothing wrong with what we do. That has been due in large part to the Internet and forums like this one. It helps so much to be able to communication thoughts on this subject and not be thought of as weird or strange.

Good question, Pieguy. I have been a nudist a long time now, and every once in a while, the thought creeps in that maybe I'm just weird. I think it is because so few people take part in an obviously great lifestyle, that I have to wonder if I am missing something they are seeing. But every time I get naked, I am reassured that it is a very healthy pasttime.

I can't remember having ANY dounts about enjoying being nude.

I guess I had a mix (if that's possible!) of both Florida Cracker's and Jon-Marc's feelings. I ALWAYS loved being nude and enjoyed it on my own for ages. Then whan I tried it socially, I wondered too if I was just the odd man out. HOWEVER, making friends, posting, and getting to know the great folks on this forum, I realized there were indeed others out there in the same club! It was great and very liberating. I've said it before, and I will say it again, thanks Clothesfree for this Forum and the continual naked support of the members.

Just hope he doesn't come back- if there's one thing worse than an inner gymnophobe, it's a zombie inner gymnophobe.
