My response was when I met the INA crew for the first time. This ws my first 'social' nude, amongst others in a home atmosphere (I've been to nude beaches, but did not know anybody well enough to talk to). Being that the weather was very cold, we didn't undress until after we got inside the house. Then the clothes came off. http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I voted immediately, going nude straight away was the easiest bit once arriving at the beach, i did'nt want to draw attention to myself by acting like a newbie, so i stripped without hesitation.
However the difficult bit was finding the courage to stand up and walk down to the sea, this i achieved after two hours during my second visit. A truly memorable expexience.

My first time was at Hippie Hollow and I was determined to get nude the second I had a chance and not give myself the opportunity to "chicken out". It was easy and I've not looked back since.

I was a little nervous the first time, but I got nude and stayed that way. I hated to get dressed to go home and put it off as long as possible.

Our first time was on the beach in France. The kids went first and I was not too far behind. My wife was a bit slower with the bottoms of her suit but she, too, was nude by mid morning, We've never looked back!

I became nude just as soon as I cound get my clothes off at my first nude venue. This took just about "three minutes" to take my clothes off and store them in the club locker.

However, when I was young, and before I was a nudist, it took me years before I could overcome my shyness and allow a girlfriend to see me nude. I did not care much what men thought of me nude. For example, I swam at the Y nude with the other males with no difficulty; however I certainly did very much care what females thought of me nude.

I finally overcame this shyness by the fact that my wife totally accepted and appreciated me nude. Therefore the next step in letting other females see me nude was a "piece of cake" as they say.
However, I may still be a little more at ease nude around males, as I don't care much what males think of me in my nudity.

Absolutely....immediately! http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Visited San Onofre Beach by myself several years ago. Was a little nervous walking down to the beach but when I crossed that gulley and saw all those nudists I couldn't wait to get undressed.

Found a spot, put down my beach chair and took off my clothes within seconds. Returned a couple of times after that by myself and then talked to the Prof about joining me. She agreed but it took her about 10-15 mins of sitting there with her t-shirt and shorts on amongst all these naked people before she said.."this is stupid, I'm the one that looks out of place", she stood up, took off her t-shirt and shorts and was standing there naked for several seconds and then sat down and hasn't looked back since. http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

To join in socially took a little longer, actually about a year later is when I actually talked to someone else on the beach. That first year we exchanged hand waves, "hellos", etc. usually just one or two words is all. The Prof was not ready to meet anyone and was still not quite completely comfortable with social nudism so for her sake I curbed my desire to meet others that first year. The second summer we met our good friends and have continued meeting other great people there and elsewhere. http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I was 17 the first time I went to a nude beach.
As a child i had been nude with others many times, but my first trip to a nude beach was much different. I took my clothes off right away but I went home my back completely sun burned and my front was completely white. It took me a few beers and finanally the resulting necessary trip for me.

First time was with the boy scouts at the Y, wanted to make sure everyone else was going to do it and then jumped right in. First time at a nude beach was Playlinda in Florida. Walked over the crossover, found a place to put my stuff and off came the shorts, what a rush!

Like many, did not want to leave!

My first visit to a well know landed club in Virginia was a great experience!

I wasn't really sure what to expect as far as the "arrival process" after being buzzed in the main gate. As I parked my car alongside the gravel road, I looked up to see a silvery haired grandmother-type lady walking towards the Office trailer. It took my brain more than a few seconds to process the fact she was COMPLETELY naked and looked very fit. What had I expected? A clothed receptionist behind a desk? (too conventional) A uniformed guard? (too expensive)

After being shown the introductory video, signing a rules and paying the day fee, I returned to my car and parked it a little further up the drive. My hostess then told me, "You can just leave your clothes in the car" and I knew this was IT. I removed my shirt, shorts and underware and left them on the seat, then proceeded to step around the car and join her wearing only socks and sneakers. I was nervous at first, but the long anticipation of this visit encouraged me.

After visiting the clubhouse, hot tub, showers, and a quick circle through the permanent mobile trailer camp, I knew I was someplace I had always meant to be! This was around 17 years ago and the rest of that weekend was a truly wonderful, liberating and amazing experience.

My first social nude experience was in Jr. high school. The flimsy swimsuits we wore in gym class were still being washed and the instructor asked if it would be OK if we just swam nude today. We agreed since we all showered together anyway. As customary, we lined up by the pools edge for roll call. Suddenly, the door opened from the "girls side" of the pool. A cheerleader was taking a shortcut to class and made it 20ft before realising we were all nude. We hit the water and she ran out. It was the talk around the school for months.

My first time was wayyyy back in Aug. of 1988. I was on the USS Eisenhower and we had been in Cannes for about a week. On a train back from Monaco, friends said there was a nude beach right outside Cannes. The next day, I borrowed a friends bike and found it. To get to the beach, there was a little tunnel under the road next to a Shell gas station. The beach was awesome!!! I disrobed immediately and was comfortable all day long. Unfortunately, it was near the end of the port call and never got a chance to go back. :-(

My first time? No time at all: I was ready.

I had been working in Germany. A friend of mine, an Army chaplain, had been giving me a hard time about not having the nerve to join him at an area spa which he went to weekly.

I kept complaining that it wasn't that I didn't have the nerve, it was just that I was just already booked every time he invited me with. So when our schedules finally coincided, I didn't take two seconds to blink before I said, "sure."

Man, when we got into the changing room, I (like I just said) was ready. I'd been waiting for this for, well, for years. No time at all and I was out of my clothes and wearing nothing but a towel (as he'd instructed) ... around my neck.

My first time was in a c/o beach with my cousin. I got nude progressively, though I went there with the idea of trying the nudist experience.

First I took off the bra, that wasn't a big deal for me cause I've been topless in public beaches many times before.

But it wasn't after a while that I took off the bottom, and I did it lying with my face below only showing my butt. A few minutes later, I rolled over and my social nudist life began.

I guess my first experience was a class field trip in my freshman year of college to Cypress Cove. The class was "Deviant Behaviour". The field trip sold me - I've been a deviant ever since http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

We didn't go nude though during the field trip. http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Suprisingly to my wife, It took no time at all for me to Join right in. Shortly after getting naked and walking into our first nude resort, shortly after getting our towels laid out and settled in, I got up and walked right over to a couple laying near us and introduced ourselves. I've found making new freinds fairly easy ever since, but I certainly don't get to go the the nudist resorts often enough to keep up with freinds I make.

I also said "immediately". Our first time was at Orient Beach in St. Martin. Knowing that I wanted to try it & determined not to "chicken out", I didn't bring a bathing suit & removed my shirt and shorts as soon as we got there. For a short while it felt a bit strange, but after that I acclimated pretty quickly. I know this was the right way for me to do it. My wife, on the other hand removed only her top & kept the bottom part of her swimsuit on (she didn't go fully nude for a few years).

I was a progressive nudist, but, for a reason.

I was in Greece in Sptember 1988, first time there. It was a last minute effort & I'd gone alone. There was a group of girls on the same flight as me & they were staying in the same village. We mrt on the second day by chance & they mentioned there was a 'great beach 5 minutes along the road'.

Next day, I headed to where they'd mentioned, a beautiful cove with beautiful white sand & deep blue water. It was quiet so I layed my towel, stripped to my trunks & proceeded to tan. About 30 minutes into it, I became aware of the place busying up, still oblivious to the most important fact. The penny dropped when about 15 minutes later, this rather stunning late teens girl came running out the water. Nude, naked, bare bollock nuddy ...I looked around & realised the majority there were nude!

It took me 30 minutes or so as I was 'paralysed' where I now sat. I didn't want to leave my idyllic spot just because I was clothed & I didn't want people thinking I was there talent spotting so ultimately, the decision was easy, but the process took a while longer (I guess 10-15 minutes). The rush was amazing & hooked me & I vowed that day to use nude beaches thereafter whenever possible.

I met the girls who were on the same flight a couple of days later at the beach & it was a very surreal feeling chatting naked to 4 girls! I know now that when we're naked, there's nothing left to hide & find fellow nudists to be far friendlier.

My first expeience in social nudism was last year.

The first resort that I attended wasn't very friendly. Some of those in attendance were quite strange. Despite my efforts to be friendly, I did not feel very welcome.

The second resort, which was a smaller operation, was very friendly. In addition to a very friendly management and a friendly group, the rules were very relaxed. As long as simple rules, such as "nudist etiquette" were observed, everyone, including singles were welcome.

I haven't been to too many different clubs personally, though I have to say that the Liga-Voels club outside Innsbruck, Austria was very friendly, and it took me nearly no time at all to take part.

Even though I was a lone male, and a complete stranger, and a foreigner to boot (I'm English), I was invited to join a mixed table of people once they realised I was alone, (simply reading a book). In the end I stayed with them the whole day, (probably overstaying my welcome a tad), and in the evening they were nearly upset that I didn't eat their picnic food when I had already ordered a meal from the attached restaurant/cafe. In contrast another couple camping on the grass, were noticable for their complete reluctance to communicate with anyone but themselves, and stayed on the periphery the entire day. This is ok, of course, each to their own, and I only mention it to describe the difference coming from within each group or person, and not from the club per se.

This is a family oriented club and, even being the dreaded single male, they were made me feel very welcome indeed.

Rich.

I must say I had the coolest prof for this class. I wouldn't be surprised to run into him there one day http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif AS I recall, most of the others saw it as a novelty, but did not take nudism seriously. I don't know if others returned or not. I have been back to the Cove, but not very much, as I ended up joining another club in Tampa that was more open to college-age members.

Hey Jay -

I went the first two years to Valencia, and then transferred to Rollins in Winter Park. The class where I was first "exposed" to nudism (pardon the pun) was at VCC. Not sure if that would have worked at Rollins.

Looking back, I ask myself, why didn't I just go to USF and move into Paradise Lakes . . . it would have been so cool. Have you ever considered doing that??

JayFromFLA
08-27-2005, 06:34 AM
No, mainly because I have already started a life in Lakeland, purchased a home and have a great job nearby, so I'm sorta stuck! I have entertained the thought, but have never given it serious voice.

I would love it though!

I actually exposed my entire speech class to nudism with a PowerPoint presentation and a free trip to Cypress Cove. However, the trip was cancelled by some bad weather we had last fall (namely, Charley).

Anyway, the PowerPoint presentation, titled "Don't be so Clothes Minded" was pretty good, and contained quite a few pictures, which even had some full nudity. No one cared, though I did preface the presentation that anyone with strict moral values that may be offended by the photos should turn their heads or leave the classroom.

I only regret that I wasnt able to do the presentation in the buff. I thought it would be neat to do the presentation wearing a swimsuit with some kind of sign in front of the midsection to give the idea of nudity.

How long did it take? As soon as I crossed over the sign at the beach that said "Nudity allowed beyond this sign".

I was definitely ready having regularly gone nude hiking in the deserts and wooded areas I've lived in. http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Immediately!
I'm new here so bear with me while I tell my story.
I've loved to tan ever since I was a teenager, but only in the last two years have I tanned nude. We have a very private deck--here in Nebraska, there's not much of anywhere else to go. My wife, who isn't at all into nudism, doesn't seem to mind my quest for an all-over tan.
Anyway, we usually vacation in Wisconsin and several years ago I heard something about a nude beach somewhere on the Wisconsin River. Hunting on the internet last winter I found Mazo Beach. So since our schedules worked out that I got to head to Wisconsin two days before my wife this year, I decided I wanted to try out a nude beach.
I was somewhat apprehensive pulling into the parking lot and walking to the beach. But after hiking a mile or so down the road in hot humid August weather, and feeling my arms growing longer as I lugged a full cooler and a folding lounge chair and sunscreen, towels, etc. etc., I was so relieved to finally see the opening in the trees at the end of the road that I quick picked out a spot and immediately peeled off my clothes.
Mazo is a fine fine beach on its own, and the nudity is big plus. The people there were open and friendly--all the way from the Mazo regulars to other first-timers. I had a great time there that day, and then went back (carrying a lighter load) for more the next day. Can't wait to go again next year!

My first time was recently at a public beach. At first it was O.K. since I talked to really nice experienced couple who visited this beach every two or three weeks and we kicked around the subject of my interest and inexperience. There was a predictable downside later, though, onvolving unwelcome solicitations by a gay man toward me, and worse it spiralled into a line of deviant gawking and jacking "vultures" who not only made me uncomfortable but prompted this couple to leave too.
This introduction turned me off from social nudity, but after visiting some excellent naturist websites I decided to visit a more controlled enviornment in the form a resort. What a difference! I spent the whole afternoon becoming accustomed to the PROPER way to social nudity for us "newbys" by taking a tour of the property and then just hanging out with a bunch of the nicest people I'ver ever met.

My first "social" experience was at Glen Eden Sun Club and they take any hesitation out of it, for your first visit you must take a guided tour "Au Natural" around the complex. After that it was water vollyball, swimming, table tennis and billards all day.

Although I've now been a naturist for a few years I've never had the opportunity to go social, though I'm itching to do it. The nearest I've been to it was last weekend when I went with my wife and two grown up sons to Newborough Forest (Anglesey, N.Wales) to ride our bikes. We ended up on the beach and the weather was glorious even though we're now into September. I decided to ride on my own to the far end to Malltraeth Sands where I hear that it's an unofficially accepted naturist beach. It was a long way but well worth it, I only saw about 10 people in the miles of sand but only two of them were nude. I soon had my shorts off and rode my bike naked for a while then stopped and just sat around and walked around in the sun. Eventually one other guy came walking past wearing only a rucksack and he stopped to chat to give me some pointers as to how the beach is used by naturists. This to most of you means nothing but was quite an event for me as being the first social encounter in the nude, I was not shy or embarrassed in the slightest and I'm sure I'd take to it like a duck to water and wish really that the beach had been more crowded with other naturists, I really want to socialise with others but never get the chance as being the only naturist in the family.

I voted "Immediately" though it took maybe about 10 minutes. When I first got there I went to the boutique and looked around to get used to all the other ppl that were nude since I wasn't used to it and to relax my mind because I was very nervous. Then determined to not "chicken out" I went back to my car and left my clothes there for the rest of the day. After a few minutes I was very comfortable with my nudity and very relaxed. All the other nude ppl didn't phase me one bit. It was an awsome experiance.

It was @ Bare Cove @ Folsom Lake, in Folsom CA. Went with 3 friends. Took me maybe 30 mins to disrobe but I was the first of all three. Water sucked there though, it was low, and my feet got messed up off of these wooden splinters. But other than that, that was a good day.

Hello everyone. This is the first message that I have left on this site, and it is about my first time nude socially.
I have thought of myself as a bit a naturist for a few years, but had never been anywhere socially before. Just nakedness around the house and back garden. The closest I had come to social nudity was being seen naked in the garden by a neighbour.
I always wanted to go to a beach or camp but never dared, until my recent holiday in Spain. I knew there was a naturist beach nearby, so I made a visit. When I got there I was quite nervous about getting naked and fearful that I may become 'aroused'. I took the plunge, and stripped off, it felt amazing. I did become slightly 'aroused' at one point, but it wasn't asbad as i had feared, i simply lay on my front until it subsided a bit and then went for a swim.
I would advise everyone that there is nothing to fear, just go for it!

I don't know if I could accept something like that. To have nudity mandatory for a tour? I have yet to experience anything socially and I'm kind of hoping my first time would be a little less, um, "aggressive." Such as a beach, perhaps, or at least someplace where I can decide my level of comfort on my own.

Don't get me wrong, I can see how that would weed out the undesirable, I'm just saying that as someone who has yet to HAVE a 'first time' I don't think I would be too eager to try it that way!

Immediately! I was way ready for it.

I brought up the idea with my ex some years ago and she was very negative about it so I shelved the thought.

Since then I have brought up the idea with my partner. She was willing to listen and not be negative about so off we went to the beach although she doubted she would strip.

I couldn't get out of my gear quick enough. She went topless after an hour or so and stripped before we left. She quite liked it too. Now it's a common bond my partner and I share (both previously married) that we can call just our own experience. Makes it all the more appealing because of that.

My first time was with a bunch of other kids (9-10 years) in the woods on a dare. We all took our clothes off at the same time and spent the day naked. We did this a lot after that, so I was quite used to being naked outside with my friends.

The first time naked with large numbers of others who I did not know was at Wreck Beach when I was in my late teens. I didn't hesitate and stripped off right away (couldn't wait).

My first experience was July of 2006, when I arrived at the resort i rang the buzzer and the person let me in. When I got to the front door of the resort I seen all the nude people laying by the pool and swimming in the pool in the nude, I felt jealous because they were nude and I was still fully clothed. After I got registered the owner showed me some pictures of the resort, I was getting very anxious and couldn't wait to get nude When he finely finished he said it was time for me to take my clothes off so I did very quickly. After I got nude I felt fantastic, I felt so free and enjoyed the nice summe breeze on my naked body.

I voted "immediately", in reference to my first time at a real, tho unofficial nude beach (Playalinda). I had already had several experiences skinny-dipping or otherwise being nude around friends. (I've thought it remarkable how many people who won't go nude themselves, but will not object when you ask if you can do so.) So, when I first walked out on the beach and saw others nude, I put down my beach bag, dropped the shorts without further hesitation, stuffed them in the bag, and proceeded to find a spot to claim for the day. That's all it took, and I've hated wearing a swimsuit at the beach ever since. It's such a bummer when you must. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/sad3.gif

It was immediately for me. I was dead set and determined to get naked. As I went to drop my draws I remember thinking "here goes nothing" and that was it. Glad I did!!

June 1997 at Harbin Hot Springs. I'd been dying to go ever since I heard about it 3 years before, and my girlfriend at the time also happened to be a home nudist (I never would have gotten involved with her if she wasn't!); fortunately, she was interested in social nudism as well. We both got naked as soon as we got there, with no hesitation at all. We broke up shortly thereafter (kinda drifted apart, actually, she lived near Modesto and I'm in the Napa Valley). I'm happy that all my girlfriends since then have either been nudists or at least open to nudism...

Didn't take me long at all. It was a nude beach and I guess I'd say that I was pretty mentally "prepared". My roommates and I (college then) slept in the raw and weren't uncomfortable being naked so it' was pretty easy when I got to the beach. Just slipped off the shorts and T-shirt and enjoyed the day.

After I registerd, paid my day fee, and took the tour I got naked. Total time was probably around 15 min. I was nervous for maybe an hour but after talking to a few people loved it.

My first time was at Lupin, and I got naked immediately. Loved it. Nice to hike in the woods, clothes free.

Hey Nudony. Well, the very first time that I ever visited a nudist club was in the summer of 1991 on a Monday(July). It was at Silver Valley Sun Club in Newberry Springs,C.A. When I first arrived, I was astounded that they met me at the gate nude when I drove up! I thought then it can't be too bad when you are greeted like that! So, I drove in and got signed in. But I was still a little apprehensive about undressing because I was still shy. From there, it really got interesting. A couple of the female members were kind of disappointed that I was not undressed. Being a single male, I couldn't believe that because normally it is the other away around regarding females being nude around males! At that point, I began to get real relaxed. Off came the shirt and pants first. A few minues later, I was bare as the day I was born! It simply took off from there! Even though I was,and still am, a bit out of shape, I saw no one making any gestures or akward faces at me. I simply blended in with everyone else. From there, two kids, ages nine and ten, practically dragged me with them onto a big paddleboat and went around their large lake. You have no idea how shocked I was! I was even more surprised that the kids's parents didn't seem to mind an unknown male going on a paddleboat with their kids. Keep in mind, it was their idea not mine! Anyhow, that is how I got launched into this wonderful and enjoyable lifestyle. I can just imagine how miserable I would have felt if I hadn't had that encounter at Silver Valley. And the club hosts more or less gave me the red carpet treatment as did everyone else. they were toatllt awesome. They just me feel so comfortable that I almost forgot I wasn't wearling anything! I hope this post wasn't too long and rambling!

Immediate. It was at Black's Beach in San Diego. This was in 1979. Up until that time I was a home nudist but, since no one else in my family was comfortable with nudity, never when anyone else was around.
Back then Black's Beach was a very popular place. As soon as I got past the point where the clothing optional area started and I saw the literaly thousands of naked people there, off came the shorts. For me this was a very big step because I had a very poor self image, in that I was very underweight. Since that time I feel very comfortable nude around others, even if I am the only one nude, as long as they are comfortable with it.
I feel sorry for those that only know Black's Beach now. It is still a very nice and usually friendly place, but back then with so many people openly enjoying the simple freedom of being nude it had a much more festive feel to it.

Back in the '70's, Black's was a really hip and groovy place. There were dacing girls (yes a team of women who would practice dancing on the beach), loads of volleyball players, body painters, music, and a great coed mixture of people of all ages. The beach seemed to undergo a big transformation in the '90's and today is much less populated with no dancing girls, no body painters, far fewer volleyball players, and mostly guys. Overall the beach has been fairly quiet the past few years as it seems that most people are far too busy with work and commitments to have time for the beach. Such is life in San Diego today. It is really sad for back in the '60's and '70's San Diego had so many fewer people and life was much more mellow and relaxed. It all started to change in the '80's and today the area is super high priced and overpopulated. San Diego has become in effect what people swore would never happen - and that is another LA.

I did shed everything immediately even before we first walked out of our condo.

However, for the dance, I wore a sarong around my waist.

Everything else, I did completely nude.

My first nude "social" experience was skinny dippin with friends at a private lake. I was nervous, but had that "do-or-die" attitude about it, and wont swim or sleep now with any clothes on.

It just took the time to get my clothes of my body. I felt comfy right away, I was nude and walked the beach up and down.

No choice in the poll fits my first time. I pulled in and parked my car and entered the trailer. I paid the grounds fee, and since I had read the rules and policies before going to the park, the preliminaries in the trailer were brief. This was at White Tail Park, in Virginia. Among those policies was that clothing was not an option there, even for a first-time visitor. The owner, nude except for a shirt, was going to show me the grounds, and I headed for my car and stripped as fast as I could. It was my first time to walk around completely nude in the open air and run into other people who could see me nude, but I felt completely comfortable with it. Not for a second did it bother me to be seen nude. And, despite that rule, the weather was a little too cool, it was March, and the first several people I met there were fully clothed. My advice to all of you out there is try it, you'll like it. What are you waiting for?

It was 1981,about 25-30 miles west of Caroline Alberta,on the long weekend in May.There was no intention of going nude that weekend,it just happened! It was a secluded area right on the banks of the clearwater river. We got there about 9pm on friday and there were some other people camped out already. The next day around 11am after breakfast,we had introduced ourselves to the other campers that were already there. I detected a little awkwardness in what one of the campers was going to say and then they said it: We kinda come here whenever we can to well um be nude most of the time,so uh you wouldnt mind, would you? We looked at each other and said "LETS DO IT'".All 8 of us,mixed company spent the next 3 days on the banks of the clearwater river nude. By the end of the weekend we were all confirmed nudists! Due to oil exploration in this area we have had to go further west towards Ram River Falls to find more secluded areas. This is an excellent area for nudist activities, as you can always find a place to camp near a fresh creek or river.
