John Spooner, an old member on here, cannot get onto this new version of this forum. Here is what he wrote to me:
Hello Clam.
Clothesfree is hopeless since they went over to the new system, I cant even reregister but keep receiving the message that my e-mail details are incorrect.
My mother died a few days ago on Sept. 21st, she was in her late 90`s.
Regards. John Spooner.
Maybe someone can help me with this. He is in Australia.

He should be able to check his email and see exactly what address CFF emailed him to. He can just copy and paste it into the new log in page. I know I have a few different addresses coming in, so I had to check.
He could also contact one of the Admin and they can help him get on the forums....there are a few others who had issues and contacted Sandman and he helped them get in.

SpiderThug, you have two different email addresses listed...one for this name and one for NakedSpider.
Your yahoo email addresses are similar but different and maybe you were trying to log in using the wrong email address and that is why you could not get on. Maybe you changed your email address but did not change it on the forums before the changeover.
I too am having trouble with this new system. I can't log in under my old name. I can't get a new password under my old name. I tried using the same email address as nudeM, but it keeps resetting his password.
I don't really care for this new system.
If anyone can help please let me know.

I had an issue with my password. I clicked for automatic reset. Then an e-mail was sent to me. I cut and pasted the new password and it worked. Once I was on, I changed my password back to what I wanted and have had no problems.

I had some troubles at first. Part of this was due to my not remembering (apparently) my old password. So, I followed the directions on how to get a new password etc and low and behold I am here. I am even able to register under my original name hence the "Junior member" status! It took me a bit to get used to this new format. I will admit, I do not always like change. I do like the "Today's Posts" and "New Posts" choices instead of "Recent Posts" in the old format. I think this board will be okay with adjustments.

The old system was easy to use and easy to follow. This new forum is cumbersome, and the format is terrible.
I predict that there is going to be much less use of this new design. I know that I'm not going to be visiting as often as I once did.

Glad to hear that I am not the only one that thinks this>

I also had trouble because the instructions on the eMails I received from Clothesfree were inadequate. I sent a private eMail and then got clear instructions and was able to reset my password.
I have been through a couple of these forum changes over the years and each time I hated the new system. All living things don't tend to like change. We prefer boring routine.
Lets embrace this new system, give it a chance, hassle the administration if necessary. It will all settle down after we get used to things and perhaps the admin can fix some problems.

I ditto the sentiments. The new forums are not very user friendly plus not as well organized as the old forums were. :(

If you created a new account to gain access to the forums, I can merge your multiple accounts. Just send me a PM asking me to merge your accounts. Include your valid email address and the usernames you want to merge. I will update the system to use your old username to login you in. You will need to use your valid email address that you provide to me in the password request form to reset your password. You will then gain access to your original account and all posts from both usernames will be merged.
FYI: I relocated this topic to the correct form for CFF Help

My recommendation to this new site is give it time, as a loooooooooooooong time member of CFI, I remember the last time they did an update, and it seems like there were a lot of complaints until most of us got used to the new format.
Let's face it folks most of us don't like change, but the only way to make things better for the majority of us is to make them.
One thing I already like about this new site is: I have a lot less misspelled words with the new format since it lets me know before something is sent that I have them by underlining them in RED.
Something I do miss is are some of the icons that were in the old format and being able to underline/bold some of my GREAT THOUGHTS that I am willing to share with the rest of you folks...

I am used to it because I use the same forum software at another forum. Just give it time and you all will love how much easier it is and more powerful. It is also faster!

Of 100% I am 30/70. That is 30% for and the rest..... well you know.
Yup, will see how far this goes. I do not predict a very favorable result. Great attempt, but just didn't hit the spot, or target even.
Quite usually people have difficulty in changes, if it ain't broke, why fix it? I also am that way to some extent, yet if there is good advantage to the change I am all for it. Yet so far I have not seen anything significant to these changes.
Will see what the future brings.

I'm not having a go at the board management. I thought that I had forgot my password as I stated previously. I could not ask for my details be sent to my email account at yahoo as the one used for NakedSpider no longer exists, leaving me with the only option of opening up a new account.
When I came into the forum, I found that there were other people having trouble logging in.

If you had any significant posts on the old user, please contact Sandman (Admin) and he can merge the two accounts for you.

Most likely this will be moved but here is the skinny.
I meet others on line in other sites that are members here, long time members, and they now cannot get onto this site anymore. The password change cannot be done. There is probably more to the story than that but is all I remember of the conversation.
There must be some change that blocks them. They may have changed their e-mail address and not updated it, or isp was changed, or some seemingly minor token was changed and this system can no longer recognize them. They are extremely frustrated. I have contacted Corkey who was really super in helping but I keep running into these people and have no idea what to tell them other than to contact the staff here for help. In rare caeses I step in to help and that is when I get Corkey. Thank Corkey !
So that is the skinny. Admin can contact me if there is sometning I can do and I will.

You only need to have them contact ADMIN. there is a link at the top of the page and instructions on how to contact them.
There is even a toll free number
All you need to do is tell them that

I just want to say thank you (to all that helped) in getting me back into the site. I don't know what happened, but I talked on the phone with sandman and I am back on in a flash. Rabid_Clam, thank you as well and you too Corkey. I would still be frustrated if I had not gotten back in by now.

I have offered assistance to many, many members. Everyone that has contacted me has received a response. Everyone that I have talked to on the phone is able to login while we are talking. Ask anyone that I have spoken to if they are having problems. There are a few emails that came in over the last few days that I will be getting to shortly.
This was a huge changeover and the problem is that people did not follow my instructions when I told everyone to update their email address. Had they done that, they would be online. But not everyone did that, so I can update their email address for them. It's a little time consuming on my end to get all of these requests, but I am helping to ensure that all members can get back on the new site. I can only help if they contact me. Contacting other members does little good since I am the only one that can update their email address for them.
Rabid_Clam, I know of one specific user that is having problems. I think this is who you are talking about. He is unable to call me since he is out of country, but we have been emailing back and forth. I feel that spam filters/blockers are to blame for any emails not being received.
Here is a tip for the future, keep your email address updated! When I ask you to make sure it's updated, update it!!!
Glad to see you are back online bikerboy. It was a pleasure to assist you and I'm glad I was able to get you back on track this afternoon.
The only thing you can do Rabid_Clam is have the members contact me. There are clear instructions at the top of the main forum page.
