Guess CFF had a little problem with the server load most of the day. Looks good again here, and notice the old "Eve" Forum URL is referred to vBulletin now.
Hope you had a chance to get your images "not saved" downloaded while "Eve" was up on-line. Its always wise to save or backup anything sent to sites.

NakedGary-
Thanks for the update. I thought I had a minor problem with my PC. You explained why I was experiencing problems. Thanks!

We had server load issues, as NakedGary explained. Pointing clothesfreeforums.com probably had something do to with that added load. I notice a lot more guests viewing this site now that the old URL points here. Stats show that the most users ever online was 469, Today at 09:57 AM Pacific Time. I think that's about the time the server database went down. The system is now optimized to handle the increased load on the server.

As a related question to prohibit potential server overload:
Why is it routinely allowed to have more or less a ration of 10 to 1 for guests to registered users? Who are all of these guests and why are there consistently so many guests as compared to known registered users?

These guests are people that do not register or login. We have far more readers then we do posters, but that's usually the case for all forums. A lot of people are just surfing through and do not bother to register to participate.

We are still working on a few things. The site should speed up within the next few hours.

I checked something when I read this. I logged out and came in as a guest. It seems that guests can see everything including photos and they can be copied and downloaded from the site. I had never checked this before. All other forums I belong to, one has to be a member to see any photos.
I guess i was a bit naive when I started three years ago as a newbe to social nudism.

Guests can view the forums, including photos. They must register to post and upload photos. That's the way this site has always been configured.

In reponse to the the question regarding the number of guests, I usually do not sign-in to the forum unless I find a topic I would like to comment on. I assume I would be classified as a guest while browsing.

Yes Jason Lee, that's exactly what this topic is all about. We had database errors over the last 24 hours or so. If it's not resolved already, it will be soon.

Yes, but keep in mind that you will not see all topics unless you are logged in. For example, the Member's Lounge is only viewable once you are logged in, so you will not see those topics as a guest. I suggest logging in whenever you are on this website.

Have all of the server problems been resolved? I was not able to access this forum for most of the day since early this morning up until now. I either could not open the home page or kept getting a 'data base' error message.

Yes, I know that, but they can also download -"steal"- the photos by right clicking on it.

Once a photo is online, no matter what site it's posted on, it can be copied. You can right mouse click any image on the Internet and save it. Some sites attempt to disable the right mouse click. However, there are still ways to get the photo. You can always do a screen capture. There is no way to get around it. When you post a photo on the Internet, be aware that it can be copied and may end up on other sites. There is no way to stop this. Watermarking images with a copyright is a good idea. It can always be cropped, but it makes the "thief" go through extra steps if he/she wants to remove the watermark. Most of the time they wont waste the time.

Computers and internet are great but if you don't want to be out there, don;t post photos.

We are still experiencing some database problems but are working on it. Some features of the forum software is disabled while testing.

I wasn't able to get in last night at all nor was I able to get in this morning. When I accessed this site 10 minutes ago the forums came up, but after I logged on I got the dreaded Try Again screen, I did click the button and the forum came up.
In the old days when computers cost a lot more we used to call them million dollar yo-yo's when they acted like this. LOL I'm sure the problems will be resolved soon.
Interestingly enough I was copying URLs from IE to Mozilla this AM
and those sites that referenced this site on their home page failed to load when I tried clicking the link in IE. If I cut and paste the URL from the Favorites list to Mozilla, then the site loaded although with a failed load of the link to this site. That's more a function of IE I think than this site.

November 1st, 2007. The CFF database overload and CFI server/DNS access problems continue.
Troubleshooting these issues continue on a priority basis by IT and Administration.
Hang in there, CFF & CFI should be up and running normally soon.

Late Thursday evening California time November 1st, 2007 CFF forums and vBulletin seem to be up again on its feet running fairly smoothly again.

I have noticed over the pasted few days - really since the switch from eve, but moreso in the last week - that these forums are extremely slow to load if at all and that individual pages within are even slower to load. What gives?
It took 5 minutes and four 'connection timed out' notices to even get this page to load to make this post, and then it did not load completely (some of the smilies did not load at all).
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Yes, GreyWolf and nacktman CFF and CFI have been experiencing issues with the server, host, DNS and vBulletin database overload, slow access, and down time.
There is already a open thread in this forum on the slow and access problems, and its extremely slow as I reply to your separate "timeout Thread"
Please follow the database and access issue at this link:

We are aware of the issues and are working very hard to resolve the issues with the database. I don't have any information beyond that at this time. Thanks for your patience.

I sure hope you guys can get things sorted out. It is getting a little annoying to see the forums down whenever I check in.

If you guys are running your own servers then I'm sure that you will sort things out.
OTOH, if you are using a provider for the Apache or whatever database server then you had better be very certain that you are not sharing the server with some guy running a music download site (or worse) who is hogging all of your bandwidth. If so, try to get set up with your own machine or machines that are exclusive to CFI.
In any case I wish you good luck in getting things back to 24/7. We miss you when your hurting.

My company, Oakhurst Online (www.oakhurstonline.com) provides hosting services for CFI. We have a dedicated server, so we have full control. It appears that we have reached our limits on that server since we moved clothesfreeforum.com over. We have purchased an additional server and are in the process of setting that up. Once it is ready, we will move clothesfree.com over to the new server. This should resolve our problems and give us plenty of room to grow. So bare with us for a few more days. Thanks!
BTW: Oakhurst Online is a naturist friendly hosting provider. Contact me if you need web hosting services and your site can be hosted on this new server alongside clothesfree.com for as little as $100 per year!

Yea, I wasn't able to get on here for a while, but ow seems llike everything is okay, again. I understand it will take some time to work the kinks out, but I have faith in you, and believe it or not, patience. lol
Keep up the good work.

Another day......another slow or inoperative server...
Hopefully some day the problems will be resolved as it is becoming routine to expect either a slow or inoperative server. Sometimes it works ok, sometimes it works slowely, sometimes it doesn't work at all.
So bare with us for a few more days. Thanks!
LOL. Clever!
Thanks for all you have done.

The forums are experiencing SQL database errors and most search routines such as
For example, I get a "Database error" message if I click on any of these items:
"My Threads / Replies"
"Today's Posts"
"New Posts"
"Search > Go"
Are not working.
I'm not sure I followed your example navigation, but you should be able to respond and reply to posts from the front page, or by selecting the "Forums" tab, then going to the message you want to reply to, then at the top of that message and click on the icon/button "Post Reply"
It works for me during this anonymity and should for you.
There are several threads in this forum all discussing the access, and database errors problems that Administration and the CFI/CFF IT are working on.

The database errors should all be fixed now. Also, clothesfree.com has been moved over to a new server and this helps to distribute the server load. Report any problems in this thread.
