My wife and I are planning a trip to Palm Springs the week after Christmas. Has anyone visited resorts there this time of year? Does the weather permit outdoor nude recreation?

Right now in Palm Springs, it's overcast, 65 degrees, no wind. Up until this morning, it has been beautiful and perfect for nude recreation during the day 76-78 degrees. Nights have been dipping into the middle 50's, and as soon as the sun goes down, it gets chilly. Most venues have outdoor heaters which keep it comfortable, but nude...hmm. This gloom is supposed to last for 2-3 more days then clear up to our wondeful November weather. I jumped in our pool yesterday, which was 78 degrees thanks to the solar heater (it's 70 today), little chilly getting in and out- but felt wonderful! For nude recreation, the days are great, nights a little cold. Hope you come out and enjoy our Desert!

Oh-and December temps are about the same, nice in the sun, chilly in the shade as long as no overcast.

While nothing is guaranteed, temperatures in the Palm Springs area are generally warmer than those on the immediate California coast. Moreover, the Coachella Valley is somewhat insulated from the cold fronts typical this time of the year. Yesterday morning (12/19) as we were crossing the desert on a Basat Three Arrival into Los Angeles (LAX) we could see the area bathed in brilliant sunshine while stratocumulus clouds packed up against the southwestern flank of San Jacinto and engulfed the Los angeles basin. You and your wife should enjoy yourselves...and don't forget the duramax.

If you are able fly directly into Palm Springs rather than obsolescent Los Angeles International which, even a week before Christmas, is beginning to resemble the last days of Pompeii.

We stayed at Living Waters Spa last year. Living Waters is a real quit place. Jeff and Judy the owners will make you feel at home. One nice thing about LWS is they have Condos just across the street. Our grown daughter and son-in-law came with us, so the condo was a good fit. The condos also have one car garages to keep your car in.

A friend of mine stays at Terra Cotta Inn a lot. He tells me that he prefers Terra Cotta account it is a bet more lively. We may try Terra Cotta the next trip we make to Palm Springs if we go alone. If the kids come with us again we will stay at LWS.

I've stayed at the Terra Cotta and Living Waters. Both are great places to go to. Terra Cotta is busier, but it doesn't take away the nice atmosphere. Both are small places, (roughly 10 units each) so you are not overwhealmed with people. You really can't go wrong choosing either one.

I reccomend both places to anyone.

For several years we went to the Palm Springs area during Christmas week. Typically we traveled on Christmas Day, stayed about 4 nights, and returned home before the New Year's rush. The last two years were at c/o places: once at Morningside Inn and once at Desert Shadows.

We finally gave up going at that time of the year because there just weren't enough warm hours in the day to make it worth our while. The temperature may indeed top 70° (though that's not guaranteed by any means), but it will be for just a short time. At that time of the year the sun angle is so low that it doesn't warm up until it's nearly time to start cooling down.

Having said that, if you're in a part of the world where blizzards are coming through like freight trains, Palm Springs at the end of December will still seem very nice. Also, there's a ton of things to do in the area. It's just that we haven't found it to be an ideal time for c/o activities.

I have not heard of or been to living waters does it discriminate against single males like Terra Cotta?

No they do not discriminate against single males. Jeff and Judy will make you feel right at home. Great place.

The Terra Cotta Inn is a great place for couples who seek a friendly and relaxed experience in a clothing-optional resort in Palm Springs. The owners are very accommodating and the service is great.

I can relate to that comment! Oh, what I would give to be nude in even 65 degree weather, when it's -4 with a -20 degree wind chill here! It's warmer here today, but everything is covered with ice after a morning of freezing rain. Think Spring, everybody! :)
