Berkshire Vista Is Not Closing
------------------------------
My Dear Friends,
It has recently come to my attention via materials floating about the internet that some people are mis-representing that the Berkshire Vista Club in Massachusetts is closing.
It is not closing.
Very early in 2007 there was a consideration that they *may* close and go textile. However it was announced to their membership on the Labor Day Weekend back in September that they are *not closing* and will have business as usual in the 2008 season and beyond.
The resort owners have moved into the farm house on the grounds and plan on managing it from there. The 2008 Calendar of Events has already been released to the Berkshire Vista Web site (www.berkshirevista.com) which also clearly states they are not closing.
We believe there may be a misunderstanding associated with some property that is available for sale OUTSIDE of the club gate and whose plot and survey plans also show the Berkshire Vista club property. Those private house lots are owned by the BVR club operators but due to deed covenants they cannot expand BVR onto that property. As such they are seeking to sell only those private house lots OUTSIDE of the gate. There may also be some people who "heard" Berkshire Vista was closing or who may have been at the club when the earlier plans were announced, but remain misinformed as to the chain of events since then.
We need that corrected.
At present the club is not taking winter reservations because the farm house is now the owner's residence. Plans for renting those rooms come the summer season remain undefined at this writing.
The club will cut back on some of their restaurant hours in 2008, and they will be dropping their 100% AANR club designation. AANR membership will be an available option to those who want it. There are several seasonal camper sites available for those interested that were vacated by people who opted to leave during the period of uncertainty early in the 2007 season.
Please take a moment to visit the Berkshire vista Web site (www.berkshirevista.com) and if you have any additional questions, please contact me directly.
The web site now carries a 2008 Calendar of Events, as well as the membership fee structure for 2008.
And please also take a moment to correct any misinformation that you may be hearing out there.
