Great video. The scenes shown were how I remember naturism back in the 1970s and 1980s. The problem we, as naturists, have now is to try to encourage younger folk to start up as club members. But the real problem is that youngster's tastes and expectations are so much higher now than they were then!

Thanks for the link . I just saw the video now. It is great but indeed a bit old, 25 years ago. Now the clubs are a bit more organised but probably also a bit less ecologists. For those who do not undestand French, the words are not that important as pictures speak for themselves. To summarise shortly , this video promotes the way of living nude in harmony with nature, in respect of others, together with grnadparents, parents children. It also tells about the feeling of pure freedom shared with friends. In that beautiful French scenery, it is a real pleasure indeed. For those who were "brrr " about the winter pictures, I can tell them, as I am a fan of skiing, that it is a real pleasure to ski nude in snow. We do not feel the temperature as cold as it actually is and the pleasure for sliding nude in the snow is unique.
Try it. And then end up in the sauna.

What a good demonstration of the naturist lifestyle in a remarkably beautiful setting! Though 25 years old, it makes me jealous of those having so much fun together. That creek scene was awesome. But snow and skiing in the buff is too much to consider. If you've not watched this, take time now.

I have to agree. Seeing beautiful people enjoying nature in a way that is not organized or regimented is refreshing. I just hope it still goes on that way in plenty of places.

I agree that it is a great video. Life seemed simpler 25 years ago and families could enjoy nature. We are now older and my wife and I enjoy being close to nature but require a few more modern conveniences. For us clubs have to be more of a resort setting.

On the other hand, my daughter would be at home with minimal conveniences. She loves camping and being with nature. I do not believe that many young adults are like her. For most young people, their sense of vacation has to include electricity and home entertainment centres (or at least some electronic games).

What I enjoyed about this video is that the naturists made every use of their time with some activity. Cooking, cleaning, yard work but also relaxing. I have yet to go to a naturist resort/club where Americans actually do something other than finding the nearest lounge chair and parking their big butts there all day and only move when they need a refill of their beer.

I just marveled at seeing these people really experiencing naturism and nature. I just love it. You can also tell of this b/c their bodies are fit. No one is grossly overweight. Everyone appears to be in shape or just have a healthy body. This video is a reminder of why I went into naturism and what I like about naturism.

Thanks for linking the video. While the video is almost 26 years old, it does a good job of showing what family nudism is like and there is some really beautiful settings in the video of nature. I just wish I could understand French so that I knew what it was that they were saying but luckily you do not need to know french in order to understand it.

Great video. For those who are not fluent in French, the voice over commentary mainly discussed the basics of naturist philosophy and lifestyle, as well as various recreational activities and opportunities available to naturists. Unfortunately, the video seems to cut out a bit early.

SAT1 German television channel recently aired the 2009 movie "barefuss bis zum hals" - "naked from toe to head", it's a full-feature nudist comedy but not one that is to ridicule nudists. Quite to contrary, it displays nudists in a totally normal setting. The actors are real actors.

The plot is about a family owned nude resort that's being bought up by a businessman who's into producing clothes. In the end, he gets converted, with many funny scenes in between. Only in (east) germany such a movie could be produced with such honesty. And only in germany could such a movie with so much full frontal nudity be aired with people being more or less oblivious to it. Great!

Three clips - little gems of their own - are on youtube, but be quick because they might be removed certainly when our house-rabbit gets to the report button. I expect the movie will come out on DVD later in the year or next year. It will be a collectors item!

The whole 1.5hrs movie can be viewed (in german obviously) here, on "onlinecliptv", you won't get much out of it though if you don't understand german, unless you use a lot of imagination.... quality is a bit less but is fine for pc.

Remember this is a german feature movie shown on ordinary german TV, not late night, just at 8:15pm. Kids ARE supposed to see this, if you see what I mean. Nothing to hide, no pixelations, no nonsense.

Yes, of course. First, the movie has many layers. Which sets it apart from an ordinary "Hollywood" comic of some sort.

First some background: the story was recorded at a naturist campsite near Berlin but is meant to take place in East-Germany. The lead actors are actual east-germans. The other people on the campground are actually locals. All this is important: east-germany at one time had over 80% of the population being active naturist/nudists. It's still high these days but getting less, supposedly under west-german influences. This also explains why the movie makes such a very natural impression, all these people were born with naturism. Add to this that the TV station SAT1 did not bat an eye to support the moviemaking and guarantee the broadcast. The directors deliberately did not want to create a movietheater movie, but a TV movie. In this way they knew they reached a much wider audience with their messages. The movie was broadcast at 8:15pm, on an ordinary TV channel, let's face it in which other country would this be possible let alone natural. SAT1 can be seen in germany, austria, switzerland, netherlands etc. Broad audience.

The basic story: is about a east-german naturist community which lives on a campground, on leased land. The campground is run/owned by the couple Sabine and Helmut with teenage son Jacob (textile) and daughter Rosi (naturist). The land is sold to an industrial person from Munich - which is the 2nd layer in the story: the "poor and simple" people from the east vs the "rich and affluent" from the west. This guy, Dieter, divorced and with an attractive daughter Nathalie who just turned 18, bought the land to go hunting. He is in the textile business and a devout catholic, he doesn't know the site is a naturist site. The naturist community ponders what to do so they can keep their site. When Dieter with daughter turn up at the gate to take a look the community decides to cover-up and don't tell. At this point the 3rd layer starts to develop, the individual characters of some of the people on the site, mostly the son Jacob. He's a teenage boy, clothed, and is struggling with growing up. He falls in love with the daughter of Dieter but one of the other older guys on the site is ahead of him. Eventually there is a row and the 2nd guy has to leave the site. Then there is mother, the lead actress who plays a truly wonderful role. She gets a lot of attention from Dieter and really blossoms. As this happens she comes to realise the shortcomings in their marriage, the way they have kept the children on the naturist site etc. Of course her husband, who's desperately addicted to living on the naturist site (so typical ;-) is to blame. And then there is the daughter who is receiving unwelcome attention from one of the males on the site (the discjockey). All of these storylines develop throughout the story. At the end Dieter finds out it is naturist club and leaves, upset, with daughter back to Munich, from the simple life that he actually enjoyed, to the jetset life at home. Jacob hitchhikes to Munich to follow the daughter and in the end they reconcile and sort of both fall in love. But he is forced to leave and hitchhikes back. In the meantime Dieter and daughter take their fast Mercedes and also drive to campsite. When Jacob finally arives he finds the car of Dieter and daughter. Dieter is commited to save the campground as long as textile bathing is allowed. The next morning at the lake the nude bathers go for a swim, he is welcomed by the owners of the site who remark "if God had not wanted us to be naked we would not be born that way" to which he throws off his trunks and joins in the lake.

There are many humurous scenes. For example where Dieter goes into the shop at 00:27:25 and asks for swimming trunks. Obviously these are "sold out". He then picks up something from the stand (a knitted garment to put over the genitals when walking/jogging outside the site, see 00:12:34) and asks what it is. Well that's difficult to explain! Somehow he thinks it's meant to keep eggs warm, see scene at 00:27:46.
Or when Dieter and owner go hunting and Dieter sees some wild - which is one of the nudists jogging through the woods 00:55:20. As Dieter shoots Helmut pushes the rifle and miraculously and to the credit of Helmut they hit some game.
Or at 00:29:04 when Dieter looks at the back of the T-shirt that Helmut is wearing where it says FKK (=Frei Korper Kultur = Free body culture/naturism), Dieter asks whether FKK hasn't something to with naked people and Helmut says it means Free Bowling Club (Freier Kegel Klubb)
Or just before 00:01:02 where Jacob mesmerises that he heard that in east germany there was supposed to have existed a second big party aside from the SED (Socialist Unity Party), namely the FKK, i.e., the nude people. That's so true :-) That's why it's called _culture_, it is truly a culture rather than a mere state of being (without clothes).

Another great scene is at 00:12:25 where the mother (lead acress) takes a pee on the toilet, naked obviously, and the son and father just walk around in the bathroom as if this is the most normal thing in life.

That's a kind of body acceptance that most people might never understand. That's why I think this movie is a must see for everyone. That's why the movie was broadcast on mainstream TV at a time everyone could watch it. Full frontal nudity - no big deal. More natural it's not going to get, not even on National Geographic.

Even though I don't understand a word of German I was able to download it into my mac. I'll definitely watch it later though, hopefully it will be out on DVD in the future with English subtitles.
