Hey, I just want to know about any good places to go in Pennsylvania/ Southern NY. Driving distance from the Capitol is preferred. They need to be family-friendly.

i believe some were on another post. try penn-mar nudist resort or penn sylvan health society. if that doesn't work check on the home page places to get nude tab at the top (the first on the left under the tabs at the top). it goes by state. good luck and have fun!

One good one that i've heard of is Sunny Rest Lodge in the Poconos. Never been there, but from what i hear, its pretty good. here's the website if you're interested:

I guess my first question has to do with your post- you want to be close to the capitol of what? PA? The country? The capitol of PA, Harrisburg, would probably be closest to Sunny Rest in PA (I think, but I'm not sure....) If you're looking for a place in PA that's closest to the capitol of the USA, which is close to PA, you're probably going to want to check out Penn Sylvan. I've been to Penn Sylvan and can testify that it's a great place. I've never been to Sunny Rest. I've heard that it's very family-friendly by day but at night some of the dances get a little swinger-ish, but that's only what I've heard from others and not what I know of from personal experience. Maybe someone else can give you a better idea on that one from their own experience.

According to Sunn Rest's own website they follow all of the rules of a regular nudist resort, not a sex club. If swingers choose to attend, get together at the dance and do what they do behind closed doors where's the harm in that?

I started going to Sunny Rest this year. The people were very friendly and there were several families there each time I went. It didn't matter whether I went on a weekday or weekend I experienced the same pleasant hospitality each time. I live within an hour of the resort so I've been there about a dozen times this year and have never witnessed any swinger activity. People that I met did say that years ago it did allow that kind of activity but have worked to change their image and become recognized by AANR. And the AANR east coast convention, I believe, was held there the last 2 years. I would encourage anyone to give it a try.

I have been going to sunnyrest for the past 2 years and found the place nice and the people frendly. I have also gone to beachwood its a little rustic but the people are nice there too

The best thing about PennSylvan is that it's open all year long. You also have nonlanded clubs that have events all year long. In PA, you have West Penn Naturists, eastern PA you have TriStateSun Club based in NJ and Philly Nudists.

I'm not sure how active TriState Sun Club is. They lost the spa where they held their winter swim socials and haven't found a replacement as far as I know. Also, I haven't gotten any newletter from them in more than a year.

we are going to try and hit a few pa clubs in summer 09
we went to maryland health society and avolon in summer 08
spend last week in florida and visited seminole and haulover beach

we went to penn sylvan last sunday and had a wonderful afternoon. everyone was very nice, the entire place was clean and well kept and the weather was fantastic. we will be going back soon!!!

I'm hoping to visit Sunny Rest yet on a nice day this fall. I hope it is still as nice as you all seem to think it is/was
