A KEBAB shop in Kilburn has closed down - to make way for an even spicier kind of entertainment.
Plans for the Soho Beach nudist retreat on the High Road have been approved by Camden Council
And traders and residents are worried about exactly what will be going on behind closed doors, with rumours that it will in fact be a strip club.
Mother-of-two Nicola Thomas, 25, who lives on the nearby Webheath estate said: "This is not the right area for a club like this to open.
"There are lots of young families and old people living around so they are bound to protest."
Traders became concerned when they saw a sign go up outside the old Nan Kebab shop saying it was being turned into a naturist club.
But when they complained to Camden Council they found out the plans had already been approved.
In a report planning officer Joe Purcell wrote: "The submitted information is limited but indicates use a strip/lap-dancing club."
Huseyin Gulbudak, 39, owns the Efes cafe next door to Soho Beach. He said: "I'm confused and scared about what is going to happen.
"I'd prefer not to have this type of place near my shop.
"It could make problems and attract the wrong type of people like drug dealers and criminals.
"The council should have put up a clearer notice saying the shop was opening so we could have had more chance to complain."
A spokesman for Camden Council said it carried out a full consultation with the people living and working in the surrounding area before granting Soho Beach a planning licence.
"Residents were consulted in line with consultation standards.
"A site notice was put up and all residents were given the opportunity to submit their concerns in relation to the planning application," he said.
"Those residents that are directly affected by the planning application were sent a letter with information in regarding the planning application."
The Ham&High attempted to contact the owner of Soho Beach who is listed as Douglas Ifedha but he did not return any of our calls or messages.
