SAN DIEGO -- San Diego County health officials issued a boil water order Monday for a nudist resort in El Cajon after tests confirmed the presence of total coliform bacteria in the water.
E. coli bacteria was not found in the drinking water supply at Sun Island Resort, 1631 Harbison Canyon Road, according to the San Diego County Department of Environmental Health.
Total coliform bacteria can come from soil or other sources in the environment and may indicate a problem with the water supply system, according to the DEH. The boil water order will remain in effect until the distribution system has been disinfected and additional tests confirm the absence of bacteria in the water supply, according to the DEH.
