Britain's 'National Health Service is updating its body map with much more sophisticated digital images that allow users to strip away the dummies' skin to reveal their insides.


However, debate has been raging within Choices as to whether the images should be anatomically correct and include genitalia or whether their nether regions should be masked.

It seems just a bit silly to be able to click and see the "insides" but not a true picture of the outside of the human body...but what do I know?

I didn't vote because in my opinion this is a decision for UK citizens.

My choice would obviously be that medical images need to show the complete body or nothing. There are a multitude of medical issues and medical specialists who deal with problems of the genitals, so it is ludicrous to pretend that we do not have these body parts. The UK NHS needs to understand that all body parts need to be shown or it would make me wonder what else they are leaving out because of what some prudes might not want to see or even know about.

I need to schedule an appointment with a urologist and comprehensive internet medical information helps a lot in knowing what is going on.

I did vote. The internet is international. This is an internet site and therefore is international in nature. If it had been a display in a UK local that you needed to physically visit to see, I would have stayed out of it. But since it *is* an international exhibit, we are all part of the customer base.

Just think - joe_uk_average finds out he has got some body parts that officially do not exist!!! A new trend: genetically manipulated brits without genitals. And for reproduction you turn off the lights in the bedroom, close your eyes, and hope that the Wizard of Oz will come by and solve your misery.

I see no need to hide any parts of a body especially when the image is to help educate about the body
