Since this is the time for making wishes for the new year, here is my wishlish for 2008 for new functionality (with some motivation). Please add (insert) your wishes, sort them in order of your priority if you like.

1. Get Chat back (60% already voted for, so why are we waiting)

2. Double the length of the list of recent posts/threads (right now the list is 6 long, this should be 12 at least): if you have not followed CFF for (say) 2 days in a row you will loose out on a lot of the activity and it takes forever to find live topics from a few days ago in the system somewhere. A longer "recent posts" list (double length, like in the past) will reduce this problem

3. Most importantly: no more than 2 posts per person per day in one single thread (to reduce heated discussions) (unlimited edits are ok)

4. remove the "user pictures" (home page, right hand side): Despite the good intent and the odd fair picture this seems a gathering place for a style of pictures that resemble more an exhibitionist gathering than anything else. 90% is of the style: "look at me and my penis" - what has that to do with nudism? Don't get offended, this is just the way it appears to me, and it simply doesn't seem to reflect the style of CFI.

5. allow users to create slide shows again (that was cool, many had a high quality).

6. Reputation should not get red before a substantial negative score. In the current way it is too biased against only one or two negative votes out of a zillion non-votes. That's can't count (show up). I am not sure if it does, but reputation should age: i.e., points lost/gained older than 3 months (for example) are lost again.

I initially agreed with your impression of the Photos section on the right side of the home page, though when I went to the home page to be sure I knew what you were talking about, there were two pictures I thought fun - one of a guy in front of the Millennium Ferris Wheel in London, and another of a couple divers (sadly the divers weren't able to be naked). As a result I'm not sure I agree it should be removed.

The other thing I noticed is that you can click the little double up arrow icon and it will roll up the window shade so you don't have to be offended by it. Perhaps the default state for the photos section could be rolled up, and those that find it valuable could click theirs open.

Perhaps the size of the images in the Photos section can be further reduced so they section is still there, but less in-your-face when there is the occasional exhibitionist.

Perhaps it can be moderated in some way - pictures voted off, or a person/committee that allows them on. The censorship and slanted point of view implications with this approach does bother me though.

Perhaps there can be a statement about what is and is not appropriate for posting in the Photos section that has to be agreed to with each posting.

I'm kind of new here, so some of this may already have been discussed . . .

When I first read your post, I thought perhaps you were referring to peoples avatars as I've seen some that I felt approached your definition of exhibitionistic. Easy for me to criticize though: I haven't chosen my avatar yet, and there can often be a disconnect between what is intended and what is interpreted.

Thanks for your reaction.

Yes, wrt to the choice of avatars there has been MUCH (heated) discussion in the past but it seems to have settled down now. They seem to be less "visible" in the current sw. Yes, I realised I can use the << buttons to minimise an unwanted section. The thing is I don't the users picture section perse, but the content-"quality" leaves something to desire, at least in relation to the mantra of CFI.

PS - CFI also maintains their subscription picture galleries (if you are member and have access to the CFTV video's then you also get access to their extensive picture galleries) - they contain a lot of excellent and warming pictures (some of them cycle through the "picture of the day" on the top-right).

Perhaps it can be moderated in some way - pictures voted off, or a person/committee that allows them on. The censorship and slanted point of view implications with this approach does bother me though.
The problem with this kind of voting is too few people vote. Threads can also be voted upon, but only the few really good threads get any votes (these appear like stars) and many of the quite reasonable threads never get any simply because people do not bother. Negative threads most people will just skip over, so they would never get "voted-away" (if that was possible).

Good luck, enjoy CFF.

I'm new here, but I haven't seen anything at all that would let me "vote" on a photo or a thread.

I know that somehow photos can be "rated", but have no idea how.

Perhpas a more "visible" voting method would help that issue of ratings?

vBulletin community and forum software and program is the most popular and used community, forums, bulletin board, and user group software internationally.

vBulletin can be configured and customized for most any use, interaction, feedback, posting, polls, rating, photo albums, gallery's, video, and multimedia.

CFF was unable to bring over or transfer the previous "Eve powered" forums photo galleries, posted images, and community and personal photo albums that were popular and well used and enjoyed by all.

Unless individuals downloaded their posted work, images, photo albums while both Eve and vBulletin were up on the server they were lost forever and not retrievable.

Administration put out a feeler when vBulletin was first implemented as to what category and type image galleries members wanted without success or responses.

The original two "PhotoPlog' add on galleries "Members" and "Locations" were initiated by administration and remain in place where members can add images [Only taken by them] of themselves or at nudist locations.

Since implementation these two CFF initiated restricted galleries are not anything like the previous member initiated photo galleries, and have turned out to be "Posed, Look at me type nude exposures" restricted to member only taken images of them selves and at nudist location.

As a result, many have pulled or taken down their nude and non nude avatars, and traffic is lower to CFF vBulletin Forums due to the lack of interesting member initiated & submitted personal and community photo albums.

So far the only interest or requests have been for a internal add on spell checker, and chat room, both still in future planning stage.

Unless members and posters request or submit suggestions, examples, or ideas to improve CFF forums, they will remain the same, with less traffic, interest, and participation than with the previous "Eve" forums program.

Below are a few example links of how versatile and configurable the vBulletin community and social networking software can be as far as posting images and multi-media, interaction & feedback.

Its obvious that there certainly is a lot that can be done with the new vbulletin capabilities, we just have to take advantage of them.
Thanks, nudeinbama
