The Limey is coming to America!
I haven't had my flight schedules confirmed yet but my plan is to be in Honolulu, San Francisco and Miami in April/May, does anyone have any suggestions on beaches or other places of naturist interest?
Can anyone suggest budget accommodation, will consider youth hostels, in fact if there are YHA hostels that is most likely the place I'll be.
Would anyone be prepared to meet up with me?
There are so many places and people I'd like to see but unfortunately I'll be limited on this occasion, perhaps next time!
Reply and/or PM me if you can help.

Pete,
I hope that you have a good time in the USA.
When you go to Miami Beach Florida, by all means go to the premier nudist beach called Haulover Beach. It is marvelous! Many thousands of persons from around the world visit that beach.
The closest motel to this beach is OCEAN PALM MOTEL,at

The Ocean Palm has been very popular with Naturists going to Haulover due to its close proximity to the clothing optional beach. The owner is a great friend to naturists and has been our biggest supporter.
The pool area adjoins the hotel's large private fenced beach with a barbecue grill, which will accommodate cooking a single steak or food for a large group. You can sit under the oversized Tikki hut that has plenty of tables and chairs for your shaded comfort while relaxing, eating and social exchanges. There's also an outdoor shower to rinse off the sand and salt water before entering your room.
The owner has kept the property up despite its age. The property is certainly not fancy, but it is clean, with good size rooms that includes a small refrigerator, hot plate, and coffee maker. Management provides a free continental breakfast every morning for guests in the lobby and fresh coffee is brewed all day long. :vacation:

Thanks for that, I fully intended to get to Haulover, but the hotel info is great thanks.
I've been to Miami on a day trip by train from Fort Lauderdale before but that was with a wife who wasn't into nudism, but as I'm now free of those shackles I can have a civilised day(s) on the beach. If any regular Haulover users from CFF would like to meet for a beer or three I'd be happy to oblige, the same goes for San Francisco.
I have a time-share apartment in Kissemmee that I hope to use at some time, but not this time unfortunately!
So where's the best place around San Francisco then?

Hey Pete,
The weather will be a bit chilly that time of year, but if it's good, Baker Beach right in San Francisco, near the Presidio, is a beautiful (and very convenient) place to enjoy the area CF. There are several other popular nude beaches up in Marin County (just across the GG Bridge) and south of SF on the coast. And there are several developed CF hot springs within several hours' drive of SF (Orr, Harbin and Wilbur to the north and Esalen to the south) you might enjoy visiting. If you want to see Lake Tahoe (about 3.5 hours east of SF), plan a short side trip to Sierra Hot Springs north of Truckee.

Our hotel room near the Fishermans Wharf in San Francisco was incredible noisy all night from street noises. The parking around there is bad, and may cost $39.95 per day extra, and may not be adjacent to the hotel. I am not really knowledgeable of hotels, etc. to recommend in that city.

Hold back there folks, there is a hitch with the travel plans, and I may be going to Holland to do an Australian friend a favour, sorry about that, America will have to wait a while before it sees me again, but thanks anyway for the help.

Right, I've got myself sorted and I'm going to a wine trade fair in London for my Australian friend then flying out to Oz the day after, but I've had to cancel my Miami leg because its the start of the holiday season and prices rocket, I've saved $800 by giving Miami a miss, never mind eh, perhaps next time. I will be going to Honolulu and San Francisco as per the previous plan but I'll hit the mainland at LA the travel up the coast to Frisco, probably by train, I did that journey in 1991 after I was stood down from the Gulf war part 1 (The daddy Bush war.).
Tips, advice and invitations for nudist events and locations will be gratefully received for the above locations between April 21st and May 5th 2008.
Thanking you in anticipation.

Pete,
My friend, who has lived in the San Francisco area, has given me this information.
If you rent a car, park in the multiple story Sutter Stockton garage at the corner of Sutter and Stockton, which is a city owned garage and reasonably priced. http://www.yelp.com/biz/sutter-stockton-garage-san-francisco (http://www.yelp.com/biz/sutter-stockton-garage-san-francisco)
You will be near Union Square with Macy's Department Store and other stores for shopping. You will be there where the cable car can take you on a great ride down the steep hill to Fisherman's wharf for lunch. Tourists can go to pier 34 there to take the ferry to Alcatraz prison (no long a prison).
Be sure and take a jacket as a wind breaker. There is no hot weather in San Francisco. It is warmer there in winter than in summer. You may be chilly on Baker's Beach - at least you will need a wind breaker.
Instead of driving around San Francisco in the dense traffic to see the sights, take the GRAY LINE tour bus line which will take you to all the famous sights of the city and at an economical rate.
If you wish, you can take a special round trip train ride to the Napa Valley wine country, http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Round+trip+train+rive+to+California+wine+country +from+San+Franc (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Round+trip+train+rive+to+California+wine+country +from+San+Francisco&btnG=Google+Search)isco&btnG=Google+Search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Round+trip+train+rive+to+California+wine+country +from+San+Francisco&btnG=Google+Search)
or take a bus to Hurst's San Simeon Castle where many tourist visit.

The respected TNS, meaning "The Naturist Society" sells a wonderful 116 minute DVD called "Destinations" which you can buy from their "Skinney Dipper Shop" for $39.95 which shows and explains both the great beaches and the great resorts in USA and Canada. As I recall, the DVD states that there are 21 nudist beaches and resorts in the San Francisco area. You might look at this wonderful DVD and decide whether or not you wish to stay at any of the nudist resorts and commute both to San Francisco and to the many near-by clothing optional beaches.
