View Full Version : Is being raised 'semi nude' count?

There have been a lot of topics about how people weren't raised in a nudist household, myself included.

Question, our Dad was never nude when he relaxed during the evening hours, but he did lay around in his underwear (briefs). Though not entirely nude, the impression is, maybe he would have been okay with 'at home' nudity. Never did ask or brought up the subject, but I was just thinking, were there any other Dads who relaxed in their underwear?

Just this past summer, I made a service call, and the gentleman was watching TV in his underwear. He invited me in so I could proceed with my job. Neither he, nor I even cared. It was his house and he called me for repair work.

Just a question that I thought would be interesting. Thanks for the responses in advance. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/smoking.gif

My father would often sit wearing only his underwear (boxers) in the evening. He also would take me to the gym, where we would shower & go into the steam room (taking only a towel to sit on) after exercising. He was definitely not uncomfortable being nude, but he never sat around completely nude at home.

Yes it counts. If one is comfortable with their body and that of others then one is a nudist.
While being nude is part of being a nudist it actually is not a requirement...I know, I know, but think about it. Just because one is comfortable flying doesn't mean they are a pilot but that does not mean they aren't comfortable with flying.

nacktman, I'd disagree with your initial statement. My father was comfortable with his body & those of others (he was a doctor), but he was not a nudist.

Yeah...my dad did that too, still does.

But he gets up pretty quick and to his room when the front door opens and he is in a slumber. I'm pretty sure he would qualify as a closet-nudist.

i am going to yes it counts also.
living where i do now with a single female next door and an apt. building where people are always knocking on your door,i find it easier to sit around in a pair of boxers.
i do get up early and do my housework nude and sleep nude of course. i hope i am not being untrue to my choosen lifestyle, its just this a everybody knows everybody area, and is heavily patroled which means even getting the morning paper requries a robe. when i lived in a rural area i went to the mailbox nude [about a thousand feet from my door] what can i say? city living. lol
of course if you come to my door wanting to buy a beer for a dollar at 11:00 o'clock at night i am going to meet you natural because i am asleep by then. [yes it really happened] strange people out there. lol

Yes I think it counts. Growing up my mother would always have on a man's yellow oxford style shirt (and socks in the winter) and nothing else which she wore unbuttoned unless someone came to the door. Of course when we went to the club she forgot to wear "her" shirt.

My stepfather sat around like that. Ramrod straight to boot. My father thought a 2 piece suit was approiate for sitting around. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif Maybe that's my rebellious nature that turned me to natural living. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/beam.gif

Being raised semi nude counts as being a semi nudist.

I remember when i was younger my father would always lounge around in his underwear after work and my mother would wear only wear a long shirt, but as the years past by they put on more clothing when around the house.

Nude is exactly that, in the total absence of textiles.

My father was very modest, even hung a towel over the window of the bathroom on the second floor when taking a bath. Did him no good, would get my brother to stand on my shoulders and would push him up the laundry chute, then pop the door open and say " HI !!! " That would drive him crazy, he was totally nude and would not get up to slap us for his nudity ! Ha! We were brats !
