Doing this for shock value will go miles to set our cause backwards!!! Dangit!! Stop ruining what little we gain by doing this!
Now, if you have permission (like a nude night at a skating rink, etc.) then that is super cool! I'm guessing Target didn't have a nude day, neither did Jack In The Box. This is wreckless!!

Dude,
This isn't helping the cause. If you want to support nudity then don't be a flasher.

A majority of streakers, flashers, and dare to be nude in public areas, are not naturist or nudists, or remain nude anywhere for any length of time.

I dont know how this can be here but show a video of a nude minor in the presence of a nude adult and it is deleted. This is much worse for nudism than showing a family sharing some nude time together.
I am all for nudity anywhere, anytime but we are not there yet as a society, and this kind of behaviour will not bring us any closer to acceptance.

I have to agree that taking daring shots in illegal places to be nude in is not something helpful to the ideals of true nudism. But if it is in fact legal in the places where they are taken to be nude, then it is good to tell just exactly what state and city or town you were in.
Not all places have rules that it is not legal to be nude in public. Some would say it was an oversight by the founders of the town.
I say if there is a place where it is perfectly Ok to be nude, take the picture and give GPS location. :D

While I agree completely that doing this for shock value does not "help" the naturist cause, I am not for a minute going to say I havent gone nude on beaches, in forests, or in other places where it wasn't really supposed to happen and haven't enjoyed it fully. Now I wasnt doing it to draw attention to myself however when done in a wise fashion it makes sense to me.

Beaches, forests and similar places are a far cry from a Jack In The Box drive thru!! BIG difference.

I totally agree. And there are places that I didnt list in certain circumstances that I would think are aok as well. However doing it to draw attention to ones self without a point is so damaging IMO.

I think that Vanesa makes a very valid and sensible point in her reply—it is all about common sense and respecting the sensitivities of people who do not share the naturist values that are important to us. There are thousands of secluded rivers, lakes, hiking trails, hot springs, and beaches around the country that are great places to swim and relax in the nude, and as long as people do not intrude on private property or flaunt their nudity in the face of people who might be offended, I do not see a problem.
My wife and I have very fond memories of canoe adventures with good friends along a river not far from our college campus. We would see very few people as we paddled and camped overnight, and so we never felt the need for swimsuits when we would stop on deserted sandbars along the way to take a swim. We often camped overnight on secluded sandbars as well, and even though these were not specifically designated as nude areas, we were always nude when we swam and bathed in the river or spent time around the campfires. If an occasional canoe passed by, we would just dip lower in the water so that we would not offend people who might not understand the natural pleasure of skinny dipping. At the time, we never thought of it as practicing naturism—it just seemed like a natural and pleasant way to enjoy the outdoors in the company of good friends. When we saw the movie titled The Same River Twice a few years ago, we were reminded of these good times as we watched the stories of friends who guided rafts down the Colorado River and spent most of their free time camping and swimming nude on the secluded beaches.
As JeepNude point out, naturist experiences in secluded areas are a far cry from pushing the envelope with very public displays of nudity in crowded areas where children or disapproving adults might find reason to take offense. If we are not careful, we will lose some of the designated nude areas that many people have worked hard to secure for us.

I am in complete agreement with you, Rick and Vanesa!
Yes, of course my wife and me have been nude in places other than nudist resorts or our own property. Heck, my user name says it all. Many trails and campsites and lakes have been subject to our nude presence. The catch is, nobody is around! And, if someone IS around, we make sure they are not put in an uncomfortable situation because of us.
Although we have never once had anyone ask us to cover up on a trail or camping, we always offer it. Even on trails, we keep a couple throw towels available to toss over our lap. Just in case.
