Wish we were there!

I like the idea of enforcing the nudity clause. Our club is supposedly nudist but has morphed into clothing optional. There's a move afoot to get back to that but...... We'll see.

I also agree with mandatory nudity. Why would anyone go to a clothing optional venue and not disrobe other than being there just to see naked people.

Well they state its a nudist resort not a clothing optional one, so they are right to enforce the rule.

Anyway, looking at the place, who would want to be clothed??

Hey Al Bundy. You have an excellent point here. If a person goes to either a nudist or clothing-optional resort and doesn't disrobe, that would automatically arouse suspicions among the undressed clientele. In other words, he or she is there simply there to gawk at naked people, chances are. That is naturally going to make the others uncomfortable.

Whats great about clothing optional resorts is that they allow newbies to test naturism without the peer pressure.
We liked the Hedonism 2 resort because we can be part time naturists until we're more comfy.
We plan to visit more serious naturist resorts now.
We also like be around mixed crowds.

HI Al, while I understand your point of view I do have to point out that there are some of us that have no choice but to wear a little clothing from time to time. My personal reality comes from recent realization that I'm a diabetic. This means for one the constant use of foot wear. A requirement that frankly puts a big cooler on enjoying any beach. Then there is the issue of medication that makes one sun sensitive, which means precautions when the sun is most enjoyable. This might be the painting of a very gloomy picture for a nudist at some resorts, thankfully not all places are nudity only.

Given the above I do understand your point a bit. If you aren't there to take your clothes off, to some extent then why are you there. The only other point I can offer up is an attempt is to get a girl friend involved. Having had a half successful attempt at such, I can only guess how difficult it would have been if nudity was mandatory.

In any event to cold here to even think about being outside without long johns.

I think there is a place for clothing-optional facilities. I recognize the fact that some people prefer nudity as an option rather than an implicit - or explicit requirement. But I also agree that if a nude resort has a "textilization" issue, they have every right to require nudity.

This I agree with if the resort is offered up as nude only resort. As you highlighted though there is the need for clothing optional resorts. If nothing else if provides a way to relieve fears and ease somebody into the life style.

I don't like the mandatory nudity-type rule. There were times I went to a nude beach, but one of my girl friends would not want to be topless or nude. She would go with me to keep me company. She's not a gawker. I also know men who accompany their nudist wives.

I'm not a fan of these types of rules.

i wouldn't have a problem with the rule! my wife on the other hand would have to stay home or take another trip. i enjoy her company and try to accomodate her lifestyle also when ever making nude plans for a get away.

One must realize that an International nude resort/hotel has a very changeable clientèle, usually booked for an all inclusive package for a week or so at $400-$500 dollars per day or $2,500 up. They are a nude hotel and expect that all clients will be nude as to not offend or raise suspicion that one or a few are there for other than a naturist and nude vacation at a nude resort sometimes called clothes free.

Being a private resort/hotel on private property they have every right to ensure that all guests are comfortable and with like minded people that are nude in common areas of the resort.

Nude Resorts, sometime called clothes free resorts also expect that repeated guests, day visitors, and new prospective members after initial one or two or so visits will become comfortable enough to be nude like the rest in common areas and around the resort grounds except for temporary medical or sun burn/exposure reasons.

A resort that calls its self "Clothing optional" allows guests and members to be clothing optional on the grounds. Most C/O resort require that all be nude in the wet areas and do not allow any clothes or bathing suites in the water, pools, spa's, hot tubs, or conversation pools.

Why would someone spend $250 - $400 per day to stay dressed at a nude only international hotel/resort?, or for that matter $25-$30 per day as a repeated visitor on a day pass to stay dressed among other nude members and guests.?

The clothes free resort I'm a member at expect all will be nude especially in the wet and common areas where it's mandatory, but allow first time, and new members and guests to remain clothed or partially covered the first few visits, but would question your reason remaining clothed after repeated visits, or as a new member after repeated visits remaining textile or clothed.

I respect all comments regarding clothing optional vs. required nudity. Your reasoning is correct and valid. My own personal preference is mandatory nudity, as has been mentioned previously, if I am going to pay the premium price to stay at a resort, I prefer to me nude 24/7. On my last visit to a CO resort I was able to be nude the entire day, but come night fall, the majority of the guests dressed. I do not have a problem with nudity but I am still not comfortable being the only nude person among the clothed. I guess this is just a personal hang-up of mine.

good call, there's a reason you go to a resort of that nature; get naked and enjoy it!

Mandatory nude is great!

When my wife and I were first married, and she went with me to a C/O resort, it almost ruined the whole deal for her when she was the only nude person in an area at one point. She was way open to being nude, but fealt very uncomfortable when she saw a bunch of clothed people running around.

I have to be honest, I much prefer a mandatory nude resort to a C/O resort! Hey, you clothing impaired people have 99.999% of the rest of the world for your little clothing fettish. Those of us who want to be clothes free have very little real estate available to us. Leave our resorts alone!!

WHY oh WHY do people go to nude resorts and insist on wearing clothes??? Then, they fight you for their right to wear clothes until they are 'comfortable' etc. I am sick and tired of all the excuses. Let me make it simple for you- If you wear clothes at a nudist resort (when it is hot) and refuse to strip, you are a pervert. Simple! Some of you may not admit it, but face facts, it's true. Stay home if you want to wear clothes and shut up about it already!!!
