Hi folks :)
This is my first post here, so I hope it's in the right forum.
I'm thinking of developing a website and I usually like to use a main keyword in the domain name.
So I was just wondering, when you do a search with google, do you use Naturist or Nudist?
Or to put it another way, what would you describe yourself as, a Naturist or Nudist?
Thanks

There have been threads on these forums before about the debate between the two words..you may want to do a search to see what's already been said...
But for my 2 cents' worth: I think the keyword "nudist" would probably result in more people looking for sex sites than in true naturist sites. In decades past, official organizations would have the word 'nude' in their names, and one big one still remains: the AANR (American Assoc. for Nude Recreation).
Other worldwide associations are the INF (International Naturist Federation), the FCN (Federation of Canadian Naturists), TNS (the Naturist Society), BN (British Naturists), etc.
As the movement or clothing-free lifestyle spreads, the word "naturist" is seemingly more accepted by the mainstream.
Incidentally, what type of nudist or naturist site are you thinking of making?

I always call myself a naturist.
And I agree with Journeyman about the use of naturist and nudist on the Internet.

I feel that "naturist" best sits me because I enjoy being nude in the outdoors, be it mountains or desert. I am not a club type person.

I think you could use either word.
I am a nudist and a naturist, the latter to me, being someone who is vey much into nature, the environment, and the responsibility that goes with our natural world; that is, to take only what we need and to preserve and protect our natural world as much as we can

just clothes-free maybe - I am and remain still myself, I don't change into something else once I shed my clothes. That being said, I normally don't call myself nudist, but naturist, mostly as also Moonshadow said, I am into nature, and (respect for) nature is a very important aspect of my "nudism".

"Girly" naturist/nudist magazine H&E must have thought the same, they are riding a bit the fence probably in order to maintain a commericially viable business all the same. Which is really a pity because under the name of The H&E guide to naturist living the openly advertise for swinging clubs, potency ailments and erotic books, not to mention questionable children's videos from Russia etc. Not to mention the extremely high full page breast-count if you see what I mean. Otherwise the mag is pretty fine and a fair representation of naturism (as I know it).

I agree with you Fuzzy, either is good for me as long as I do not have clothes on.
