The first Oyster Roast of the year was funtablulous. Just about the entire of the bushel was consumed
by friends and members who arrived from all points in SC. In addition to the single oysters, a wide
variety of dips, chips, crackers, and spreads were enjoyed as well as a very tasty dish created by
Sharon. There was also a green mixed salad available. The hot tub was perfect as was the weather
plus Larry's hospitality was superb as always.
I don't know how, but the events keep getting better and better.
3/15 - Saturday is the next event will be the club's annual St. Patrick's pary on March 15 at our home.
Those in attendance will receive Leprechaun bear with a frosted sucker and a small St. Pat's traveling
shot glass. If the weather is good, as I hope it will be you're welcome to arrive early to enjoy the
sun and hot tub. If the weather is cooler, the time of the event is 4pm. I will be cooking the corned
beef and cabbage, please let me know what you'll be bringing to complement the dinner.
3/22 - Saturday will be Travelites' annual egg dying and tie dying. The club will provide the art
supplies. Just bring hard cooked/boiled eggs to color as well as something white. If the weather not
condusive for sunning, please arrive at after 4pm. If we are to have good, warm, sunny skies, you are
welcome to arrive at about 2. A potluck supper is planned for 6:30, please let me know what you are
planning to bring.
4/5 - Saturday we'll be back at Larry's for a Low Country Boil. So far, I'll be bringing 4 lbs. of
shrimp, we need 2 more frozen or fresh plus 10 ears of corn, 2 lbs. of Hillshire Farms smoked sausage,
dessert, and salad or coleslaw. Please let me know is you'll be joining in for this fun event and what
you'll be bringing to make this dish perfect. The actual recipe we use is in March's AANR Bulletin.
4/19 - Saturday - Authentic Passover Seder - please let me know if you'll be attending so I have enough
food and supplies for this event. Some folk from out of town will be tenting on our property and
arriving on Friday. Others are welcome to visit in their RVs. There are motels less than 10 miles from
our home that I can get a discount for. Just let me know.
