Any body have a reacurring nude dream?
Hear's mine.
I am in my high school locker room, I go to the showers start to shower and a bunch of girls walk in and start to shower and use the mens urinal. I 'am like shocked and a little confused! So I grab my towel and head back to my locker. The locker room has lots of people and is full of comotion. So there I am walking around with nothing but a towel and can't find my locker! I go round and round looking then I wake up!

I am often naked in dreams.

Sometimes I'm the only person; sometimes other people notice that I'm naked, sometimes they don't. Sometimes I'm at a naturist resort and most of the others in dreams are also naked. Sometimes I'm in the middle of town or in a shopping district or I'm at home or someplace with my textile-conscious family. Sometimes I'm not comfortable being naked; but sometimes to be naked, even with other who are wearing clothes, is not at all an issue: it's just a matter of fact. The last last scenario is not nearly as common as I'd like ... I guess I still have some work to to grow more fully into my skin :) !

So, no; I don't have one recurring dream of being naked. But being naked is theme that recurs often. It happens so often, in fact, that I'm almost surprised when I'm not naked!

Maybe to be a nudist and dream of being naked can't be such an unusual thing.

I and others are nude in probably half of my dreams, but none of them are re-curring dreams.

My favorite one was being at Disneyland and riding all the water rides on a super hot day and commenting to someone next to my wife and me that we are so lucky they let us be nude today!

Like that would ever happen...

My dreams are usually nude as I am nude practically 24/7.
Being clothed in a dream is rare. In fact I don't remember the last 'clothed' dream.
The most recurring dream recently has been building a new house on some land I bought in the mountains - doing the work myself and nude of course.

I had a very weird dream when my "little son" went home from his school and found out I was naked in the house. He gawked as well as giggling as it was his first time seeing me naked. Then he asked me whether he can do the same and I said to go on. He quickly got undressed and we were having fun doing anything in the buff .

But in reality I don't have a son or any children yet!!! shocked shocked shocked

The dream I awoke shortly after this morning was the stewardesses had no bottoms. Most had tops that left just a little bit of butt exposed. One of them, however, had her complete butt exposed. Don't remember seeing her nude in front. Think the uniform was longer in front.

I used to have crazy dreams about being nude where it was not conventional or comfortable. These would be more prevalent when I was sleeping nude, so I avoided sleeping nude. As I have become more comfortable with nudity, and have participated in social nude events these dreams rarely happen. Now I do sleep nude. When I have dreams of being naked, even when others are clothed, I am comfortable. I see that as a big sign of a growth in self-confidence!

I am sometimes nude in dreams, but it's never been an unpleasant thing. If I am aware of it, I recall feeling "well if they don't like it, too bad, I have nothing to be ashamed of". My normal recurring stress dream is that I am back in high school and can't find ,y locker, then when I do find it, I can't remember the combination. But that is never a nude dream, those have always been pleasant, tho I have never had a wet dream either. Just me being free.

Pretty well everyone has had the dream where you are with other people & everyone is clothed but you. They don't seem to even notice. The dream, of course, comes in many forms.

Well, i had the great fortune to actually be able to LIVE that dream (about 8 years ago). :-)

I was at a large gathering for a long weekend that was 'clothing optional'. Although nobody chose to go without, which was rather disappointing. Three of us, during the afternoon of the last day, decided that we would go nude for the rest of the event. It was nice.

But the best part was the "parting circle". We all got together (80 to 100 of us) and joined hands to create a huge circle. My naked friends were a few people down from me, so they were out of my peripheral vision (well, out of my vision completely, actually). All i could see was a huge circle of clothed people, and i was the "only" naked person. It was a fabulously freeing feeling. It didn't matter to anyone that i was nude... just like the dream. To actually live that dream was just . . . too cool for words!

I had a dream last night that we moved from the city to a small town and our nearest neighbor was a mile away. This neighbor happened to be a nudist farmer and after getting to know him I started working on the farm, nude of course. I always loved to work on a farm when I was younger but never did so clothsfree. When you work nude on a farm you get the ultimate farmers tan.

My naked dreams are decidedly not naturist in nature, but it is great to read of others who have them.

Greetings to all,
Many times I have found myself naked in dreams. One time I was running and another time I was teaching a class. These are just two instances that I can immediately recall. I remember waking from them knowing that if they were REAL situations, not dreams, I would be embarrassed. However, I would certainly like to have those dreams be real without any concern from others in my presence.
It also seems that I have more dreams being naked when I am actually naked in bed.
By the way, I do enjoy sleeping naked. It is much more comfortable that having anything on. However, I don't sleep naked all the time. It seems that subconsciously I'm not ready to do it all the time. Does one need an "adjustment period" to get used to it all the time?

I too have nude dreams sometimes. They don't really follow any particular order, sometimes I am the only one nude, other times everyone is, sometimes only some of the people are. The funny ones are when people I have never gone nude with are nude in the dreams, how my unconscious mind comes up with that is beyond me!

I only recently, within the past couple of years, started to have these types of dreams.

The Dream;

One I seem to have with frequency is where my wife and I, some of our nude friends and some of our non nudist family are present at a party. I'm there naked along with my wife our nude friends but many of the others are not. No one else seems to be paying any attention to this fact. I'm standing talking to this female co-worker/friend and we're discussing her trying nudism for herself. She seems very willing to try it but she never actually gets undressed in the dream....probably because for some reason I wake up.

Back to reality;

We've had many, many conversations about our lifestyle at work and she's admitted to enjoying some nude time around the house but not to the extent as many of us live. I'm not sure if this open discussion, with her, has led to these dreams but I'm sure it has something to do with her being in some of my nude dreams.

Greetings,
Many of you have commented that you either don't have as many dreams as you used to, or that you just don't remember then.
I suggest that you keep a paper and pencil by your bed at night. Then when you wake up from a dream, you immediately write just a word or two that will help you remember your dream later.
If you do this, you will be surprised how often you dream and what you can remember.
All of this is a result of a course I was part of several years ago in which we discussed and analyzed dreams.

Mostly these days I am not aware of dreaming at all but over the last few nights, coincidentally(?) while my wife has been away from home, I have had quite vivid dreams, bits of which, or threads, I remembered. Didn't make a lot of sense though. I cannot recall having nude dreams.

This is an interesting thread. I'm responding at the moment to Centauri 4's comment about dreaming less as one gets older, and to Charles Logan's comment about fostering a dream life by keeping a notebook next to the bed so that you can make notes about dreams and remember them later.

To Centauri 4: I actually dream more now than I ever have -- it's rare that I go more than a two or three days without dreaming.

And Charles Logan is right: if you begin to cultivate a practice of remembering them, you will find that you do. Wild, the places one's psyche goes while one's body stays asleep ... and a lot of times it doesn't bother to take clothes along, either. Sometimes embarassing. Sometimes funny. And sometimes nobody bats an eye, whether clothed themselves (in the dream) or not.

Now: if I could just get my life to cooperate so I could really follow my bliss ... that would be a dream come true!

Just last night I had a dream, were I was swimming naked in a small river. I cann't remember much about it. Except I was searching for something under a bridge, and I had a difficult time getting my socks off.

Also, a few nights ago, I had a dream I was naked in the yard with my grandson.

I am naked in virtually all of my dreams, with only rare exceptions. Even if the dream has me at work, or elsewhere in public, I am naked and no one seems to pay any attention to my nudity. Only about half of the time are the other people undressed, I guess it's just a result of my living naked for so long, that nudity is the natural state for me awake or asleep.

Okay.............now I'm really confused! Seems like I'm dreaming more nowadays and I have lots of nude dreams...only now...my mother in law, my ex-sister in law and niece have begun to appear in them.

This last one had us all at Club Orient but..........it didn't really look exactly like Club Orient. My mother in law, the ex sis in law were both clothed and didn't really mind that my wife and I or our friends were nude. They just kept saying....."hey it's great if that's what you want to do."

The conversations between us and our daughter's has turned to vacationing with us at Club Orient next year. Not sure how serious they are but from what talks we've had, they both sound quite serious. I wonder what kinds of dreams I'll be having now with this new development.

Greetings to all,
Since there have been a few posts concerning dreams, and being naked in dreams, since my post of April 20, here is something I didn't mention that came out of the course that I was part of in which we studied our dreams.
Many of our dreams are our subconscious speaking to us. In most cases the themes are things that we have suppressed in our minds. However, they come back to us in dreams. So please play close attention to your dreams. One additional note and warning, though: You are the only one who can truly analyze your dream, why you had it, and what it means for you.
Pleasant dreams!

I dream just as much as i always have (a constant flow of dreams every time i sleep or even nap). I look forward to the "get-away". But that said, i am finding it harder & harder to retain them afterwards. They fade so quickly (within seconds) once i wake up. Now it's almost impossible (except for once in a blue moon where i can retain it long enough) to write it down.

I used to always write down my dreams - in great colourful detail. It is a good way to remember them and i have had a dream journal for decades. But now, there's simply not enough time before they fade!

I'm saddened by this because i have some really great dreams, but i guess that's one of my 'getting older' penalties.

Few nights go by that I do not dream. It has always been that way, and getting older has not changed that for me. But I have rarely dreamed about being nude in them--until last week. I don't know whether to laugh...or scream...but I dreamed I was in an old folks home running around all over the place as naked as the day I was born. A few others were naked as well. We were having a great time while the attendants were trying to catch us and get us to put some clothes on. I've actually seen this happen, so I guess I may have been reflecting upon it in this particular dream. But I must say--if I do end up in a nursing home down the road, I WILL be the naked one. I was certainly enjoying myself!

GI Joe, I also wonder what's going to happen to me when the time comes for me to go to a nursing home -- if I'm going to be one of these guys that they'll have to strap down to keep me in trousers, or what (LOL). (Anybody know of any nudist nursing homes for folks like us?)

Joon, I know what you mean about not being able to remember dreams some mornings -- I've had a number of times waking from sleep when I know that I've had a more interesting deam life than my waking life ... but damned if I can remember what I've dreamed ... not in any detail. But these times seem to come and go in cycles: so I remember what I can, and go on from there.

And yes: we're the owners of our dreams so it's up to us to say what meaning they hold, if anything.

But it's interesting to hear folks tell what kind of life they have while they're sleeping, whether nude or not.

What is this, deje vu? I just had a nude dream last night, one that I had to really think if it was real or not. It was Thanksgiving and we had family members over, as usual, but only this time my wife and myself were nude the whole time. I kept going in and out checking on the turkey (deep frying) and my wife was in the kitchen cooking. There were a lot of family members over, even ones who have passed, but there we were, naked and being hosts.

The strange thing is, my wife is never nude in the house, except maybe at times when the house is empty, but myself, I'm nude almost all the time, especially on weekends. And when others are about the house, all I wear is a very light wrap around, which is just about as revealing as being totally naked.

If only this dream could be real.:smoking:

Not being a nudist yourself, that is the reason for not having nude dreams. Unless you have tried it yourself, it is understood why you wouldn't get them. Now, on the other hand, should you ever decide to give it a try, you may have a nude dream. In that case, it would be a nightmare. lol

nudeM: "Not being a nudist yourself, that is the reason for not having nude dreams."

If you are referring to nudist-like dreams, then I would agree with you, but simply being naked in dreams is not limited to nudists. The feelings you get from nudity will affect how nudity in your dreams is felt. For Stu, being naked would qualify as a night terror or a nightmare, not a dream.

Of course, Stu's son-in-law (the neo-Freudian psychoanalyzer--psychoanalysis--psychoanalyzer :D) would have a field day with these dreams.

My naked dreams seem to be the kind where I am naked in a public area and either no one notices or cares that I am naked.

Retraction: I have had one reoccuring dream where I'm trying to get to a hotspring so I can be nude in it. Sometimes I don't get there successfully but at least once, I have. This dream is based in reality as we once tried to get to such a hotspring but had car troubles on the way and never made it. Funny that I still try to make it there in my dreams! In my reoccuring dream, I'm driving along and off to the side of the road, I see some naked folks... and I immediately start thinking of taking my clothes off and joining them. I had a dream this morning, a variation on the "I was the only one naked" dream.

In this dream, I was with a group of people at a place that had exercise facilities, a hot tub, and a pool. We decided to avail ourselves of the amenities but I hadn't brought a change of clothes so rather than get my street clothes all wet and sweaty, I stripped down completely. Although it was not a nudist venue and I was the only one nude, no one seemed to take notice. There were no stares, no comments, no averted glances. It was as if everyone were oblivious to my nudity.

I am a regular dreamer and can recall my dreams vividly, but I have never dreamed of being naked. My son-in-law, who is a psychiatrist and has a special interest in dreams, says that is actually rather unusual as most people do occasionally dream of being nude.

Many of my dreams are historical, e.g. set in previous centuries!

I have variations on a recurring dream where I can fly (just sort of "think" myself into the air) but it only works when I'm nude.

So, I've had all sorts of dreams where I'm walking around a mall or the beach or even at work and suddenly decide I want to go somewhere - so I strip down and take off, regardless of who is around. I'll then land at my destination and just walk around or go do whatever it was I wanted, and no one seems to notice I'm nake while doing it.

(One caveat, though: I'm also a lucid dreamer, meaning I can change or control my dreams in my sleep. So, that may have something to do with the "pleasent" nature of them.)

Most of the time in dreams, nudity around others who are clothed (especially feeling "worried" about it in the dream) is supposed to signify feeling unprepared/anxious/nervous about something. It generally has nothing specifically to do with being nude. Those who are "used to" being the only one nude in a room probably have a different kind of dream to express anxiety.

Your dream actually came true for me,

I was in a youth hostel in Menton, France and I was in a shower and these american girls came into the showers, I was young and really shy, they pulled back the curtain and stepped into the communal shower and they showered and giggled. I was mortified.

I went up to the dorm and entered and there was girls in the bunk beds across for me. they were not there when I arrived. I hurriedly left the dorm thinking I was in the girls dorm by mistake. I paced up and down trying to figure where my dorm was, it seemed like ages but I eventually realised that it was my dorm too.

The room was dark and i snucked in with the towel around me, and as I dropped the towel to put shorts on I suddenly realised that the girls across from me were not sleeping and was looking right at me, and they was doing a bad job of stifling giggles.

Have a pen and paper at your bedside and write them down, even if it is just vague memories of the dream. Do this even if it is in the middle of the night and you wake up from a dream. The more you do it the more you will remember your dreams.

But if you find that you are not having any dreams, you might not be getting the right kind of sleep and might be a sleep problem, or sometimes medications will stop the dream cycle. If I drank too much alcohol I noticed that I would not remember my dreams or felt has though I did not dream.

I have read or heard that dreaming that you are naked in front of people and feeling uncomfortable about it, ment that you were holding onto a secret, or hiding something about yourself that makes you feel uncomfortable. The feeling naked pysically equating to feeling naked emotionally.

Did not hear anything on being naked and comfortable about it, but following the feelings of the dream I would assume that having a dream were you feel comfortable about being naked around others would mean that you are comfortable with yourself emotionally.

Ewan;

When I was at the University of Georgia, I used to swim every evening in Stegman Hall's pool. Then, of course shower, the showers were old style open.

While in there, a man brought his daughter who must have been seven or eight.

Suddenly a boy who was there with his father screamed out and covered his genitals. He said he was afraid she would say she saw him naked.

She said she could not because he would be able to say he saw her.

The boy looked at her a moment and then dropped his hands.

From that point on, they talked as they showered naked.

When the three American women came in, you focused on them seeing you naked.

Perhaps they were giggling about you seeing them naked.

I have a recurring dream that I am in line at the supermarket paying for my groceries and realize that I forgot to get dressed and am totally nude. That fact does not bother me much, what does is that nobody seems to notice LOL

Stu: "I am a regular dreamer and can recall my dreams vividly, but I have never dreamed of being naked. My son-in-law, who is a psychiatrist and has a special interest in dreams, says that is actually rather unusual as most people do occasionally dream of being nude."

While it is unusual for someone not to dream of being naked, since it is so psychologically disturbing for you, I don't doubt that there is rarely nudity in your dreams. If anything, naked would be a nightmare. As for your son-in-law, well, I would question anything he has to say based on the information you already gave to me. Does he try to interpret dreams using context clues in the dream such as dreaming of x means y? If so, that is the worst way to go about dream analysis.

The way I see it, dreams should be interpreted based on feelings felt within the dream, not the images. The only exception to that rule being nightmares in which real scenes from one's life are being replayed.

As for dreams, you are in REM sleep about once every 90 minutes of sleep and stay there for up to 20 minutes. People need this version of sleep, although scientists aren't fully sure why. Everyone dreams, but some people may just not remember their dreams as well as others I know for me, I remember my dreams more often when I am sick, although those dreams are usually extremely non-sequitor, sometimes avant-garde. The one that comes to mind was the number 7 that kept on waking me up in my dreams while sick one night. I don't consider any of my "sick dreams" as interpretable. They are just stupid.

I haven't had a naked dream in a while, though my naked dreams usually are similar (the ones not sexually related) in which I am naked in a public situation but no one else cares or even much notices. I go from nervous that someone will see me to relaxed that nobody seems to care.

So how do you pay for the groceries. Or do you get them for free, in your dream that is possible.

Nimrod,

Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a try and see what happens.

My son-in-law has a brilliant mind and has pioneered new, drug-free treatments for depressives and even psychotics. He is a huge fan of Freud, who he believes was much misunderstood by his profession and his teachings are neglected by them. He does use a "semiosis" strategy to interpret dreams, i.e. that certain features symbolise what is happening in the mind, but he is aware of some weaknesses in that. He recognises that dreams also contain random elements which can be over-interpreted by analysts looking for meaning in everything. Most of my dreams are set in the past, period costume and all, usually either late 1700s, or way back into the Bronze Age. In the 1700s dreams, I am always an aristocratic young female!

BTW, a bit of information. For the past few months I have had a distinct red patch on my private parts which began as being itchy, but later became sore, almost as an ache. I told my wife about it last weekend and she looked it up in a medical book and was convinced I cad penile cancer, which I know is extremely rare. She got very worried and begged me to go to the doctor, so I did just that on Monday evening, and I actually let him examine me! He said it could be one of a few possibilities, so he would treat me for thrush first (I didn't know men could get thrush!), and check my blood in case I had diabetes, which can make men vulnerable to thrush. I was prescribed some ointment but he said if it didn't clear up in a week or so, I would have to go for a biopsy to test me for something he called "EQ" (???) which would be a bit more serious.

Anyway, I'm actually quite proud of the fact that I managed to allow my parts to be examined. I was horrified at the prospect, but I still went through with it - first time anyone has seen that part of me since I was a teenager! Impressed? :wiseguy:

Ah yes, put the fear of death into you and you rise to the occasion. You are taking baby steps every few years. I can't wait until you are naked on the nude beach with your family.

He is misunderstood, by your son-in-law as well. Freud was in favor of familial nudity, finding it vital to the mental well-being of children. As for the dreams, the major weakness in that form of dream analysis is that everyone is different and may feel differently about different things. There is also the randomness in dreams as well. That is why I suggest disregarding all imagery and instead, focusing on the feelings of the dream.

That said, your dreams may just be your past lives.

Stu;

Be very careful with home remedies. If they minimize any symptoms, the doctor will have a more difficult time with diagnosis.

I am proud of you for what you did.

How did the doctor react?

How did you feel after? You seem pretty proud and should be.

The little bit of research I have seen indicates that yeast and fungi are likely culprits.

It may be helpful to have someone look at it more regularly to see if there is any change. Perhaps you wife would be the ideal one.

I can honestly say that it wasn't the 'fear of death' so much as seeing my wife panic. My doc did put me at ease with his matter-of-fact manner and I surprised myself at how I coped. Don't expect to see me naked on a nude beach ant time soon, though.

He is misunderstood, by your son-in-law as well. Freud was in favor of familial nudity, finding it vital to the mental well-being of children.

I'm sure he knows that - he uses Freud's ideas in his treatment plans for patients with serious mental disorders.

That is why I suggest disregarding all imagery and instead, focusing on the feelings of the dream.

Fair enough, but remember that my son-in-law is a professional psychiatrist with doctoral level qualifications and several years experience as a practitioner. He would be the first to admit the limitations both of his profession and the state of human knowledge with regard to the meaning of dreams, but his grasp of the subject is very much at the cutting edge.

Walter

Thanks for your comments. I have not used any home remedies. I have been prescribed an ointment containing hydrocortisone and clotrimazole, and I have been using that. The doctor was, as I told Bob, very matter-of-fact - as though he were examining my foot.

I was actually OK after it - far more relaxed than I thought I would be and quite proud of myself as this wasn't something I could have done even a couple of years ago. So far (after 3-days), I have not noticed an improvement, but there is still time. I'm just hoping that, if it is a fungal infection, that doesn't mean I am diabetic and, if it's not, that I don't have this "EQ" condition, which my daughter says can develop into squameous cell carcinoma! shocked

The night before last I had another nude dream. I dreamt everyone in the house was nude, except for our Son who lives with us, He had his shorts on, but everyone else was going about their business in the nude. When I woke up, I had to pinch myself to be sure if it was real or not. It wasn't. I'm still the only nude one in the house. LOL

A few days ago I had a variation on the "only one naked" dream except that in this dream I was perfectly comfortable. Everyone else was clothed and hardly even took notice that I was nude. It wasn't a big deal to anyone.

Maybe you were having a premonition of the day when you will have a son. If you do, I hope that your son is able to accept the naturalist lifestyle.

I can remember having a dream one time where I am walking around everywhere totally nude and someone calls the cops. The cops try to come arrest me for indecent exposure but I have super human powers and they are not able to stop me. i then display how powerful I am compared to them and tell them that if they leave me alone, I wont hurt them.

Instead they keep trying to arrest me and I am forced to use my superhuman powers to make it clear to them that they can not stop me and I can hurt them if they continue so I make them get undressed in return for not hurting them but instead of them being embarrassed, they end up enjoying the experience of being nude in public and wished that they had done so earlier in their lives.

I dream regularly and have had numerous nude dreams over the years. usually but not always I am the only one naked. Sometimes I am embarassed , sometimes not, sometimes other people notice, sometimes not. Do you ever know in your dream that it is all a dream. Sometimes I do and I have had a number of dreams where if anybody objected to what I was doing I would tell them it is my dream and I can do what I want to. I have never had a recurring dream that I can recall nude or otherwise.

I have dreams where I am either walking from my car to the office naked and talking to colleagues who act as if it is normal (they're always clothed) or that I am in the office naked and just off home, naked.

I remember previous dreams like walking down the street or some other public setting. It was nothing, just a regular natural way to be, then suddenly realized I felt alone wanting to find an escape only after the other people became aware of my nudity.

Had one last week.

I had just put the key in the front door and when I looked round for some reason I saw the next door neighbour, naked.

I looked past him and I noticed all the other neighbours coming out naked too, and I was the only one dressed coming home from work.

I decided to join in and it ended up a really relaxing time.

Last night I had another nude dream. Me and a whole bunch of friends and family were down by a lake when I decided to strip naked and go swimming. almost everyone else was fully clothed except for a couple people who were swimming wearing bathing suits. a couple people teased me a little saying they never thought I would go skinny dipping but other than that it was no big deal.

i went from a couple of nights ago having a dream where I was the only one naked to last night where I had a dream with more naked people than I can ever remember in a dream. I was at a nude public swimming pool with my mother sister and a lot of people all naked just obviously swimming and having a good time. I have never been to a nude swimming area and my mother and sister are most definitely not nudists and would never go to one. In my dream even though she was hanging out seeming to enjoy herself naked my mother said she would never come back to one again.
