As my spring break draws to a close I wanted to tell you all about it. Since I had some extra money to spend I decided to rent a car and have my first experience with social nudism. So on Wenesday morning I got up and began my trip to Hippie Hollow in Austin, TX. Now I'll admit I got lost and drove around for about an hour before I found the place. I was nervous about the whole thing during the entire drive over, but when I got there that all went away.

After parking, I walked around for a bit trying to find a good spot. Hippie Hollow is a very beautiful place, only problem I had was that I felt like I was gonna break my neck trying to get down the very steep steps and across the rocks. Once I found a good spot I spread out my blanket, sat down, took my clothes off, and spend the rest of the day jamming my iPod and thinking deep thoughts.

While there I saw alot of couples and even some people around my age. It made me feel better about my own body by seeing people of all shapes and sizes there. Although it would have been nice to see more diversity among the skin tones, but I've already talked about that here (http://www.clothesfreeforum.com/showthread.php?t=8644). This may sound silly, but honestly while I was there I felt like a little kid. Meaning that I got to walk around nude and not worry about getting in trouble, like most little kids. I originally planned to make this a one day thing, but I enjoyed myself so much I got up on Friday morning and went back. I want to head back one day, just don't know when I'll get the chance.

Congratulations on finally trying social/public nuding. Too bad you have to go to all the expense of renting a car and driving for hours. Some of us are lucky cause we are right near the beach. But, it would take 5 hours to get to a resort.

Yup, minorities are in the minority at the nudist venues that I have visited. Young people are also in the minority. I think it comes down to the "coolness factor"; until more young people think nude recreation is cool they just won't try it.

Congratulations.

Glad to see you had a good time.
And don't worry about getting lost, I think it is a requirement to get lost on one's first trip to Hippie Hollow.
It is written down in a book somewhere I am sure of it!

Congratulations on your first foray into social nudism. I wish I'd been a nudist and known about Hippie Hollow when I lived in San Antonio.

That's how it starts for most of us. Once you become a naturist, there's no going back, it's so much fun.

Are there any non-landed clubs near you? Here we have nudist groups that rent a gym for one night a month (during the winter) for swimming, hot tubbing, sauna, steam room, and vollyball.

See, it is no big deal. Once you did it, you want to go back and enjoy more of it. Glad you did it and had a wonderful time.

If there are I don't now about them. Even if I did I don't think I really have time for it with school and all. That being said does anyone know of anything in the Bryan/College Station (Texas A&M) area. That's where I'm at right now.

Hello,

Don't forget about Hill Country Nudists...they are mostly out of Austin but are officially non-landed. They are nice, I've been in that group for years...Haven't participated lately because I've been working weekends for a long time which is when most of their events are. They give student discounts and are really accomodating to students and young nudists because they want to see more young people involved. Even though there aren't that many young members in HCN, a young nudist would still have fun with this group. I have, I've been with them since I was 23 or so and I'm 28 now. Also, you get to know people and you can share expenses (like the entry fee into Hippie Hollow because it is by car, not by person)

Hey NudeTopher. Alhough I am a bit reluctant to say this, I have to agree with you on one point. This is regarding young people and nudism. Until they perceive it as a cool thing to do, you are not going to get many young people to participate. There may be an exception if they are raised in a nudist or naturist family. But for the most part, that has always been a struggle in my understanding.

Well actually when I went on Wednesday, in the spot I was at, there was an almost equal amount of young people as there was older couples. What was even more surprising is alot of them were girls.
