This event was enjoyed by members from around SC from the Low Country to the Columbia area. The weather was warm and sunny. Some enjoyed sunning themselves on the deck enjoying a variety of dips and spreads. Hard boiled eggs were available for coloring and the dyes were ready for tie dying. The volleyball net was up; horseshoes were available as was the boulder toss game. The hot tub was a perfect temperature for soaking.
Dinner was fantastic with the grilled steaks being the perfect doneness for everyone; thank you Allen. The homemade french fries were crisp, salad and variety of dressings were tasty, garlic french bread was yummy, steamed broccoli was flavorful, and the scrumptuous homecooked chocolate pudding pie with real whipped cream was a treat.
It was tough for those members in attendance to call it a night.
We look forward to seeing these and others at our future events.
=====================
Low Country Boil on April 5th. So far I have 4 lbs. of shrimp and 2 lbs. of smoked beef sausage. We still need 10 ears of fresh corn, 2 more lbs. of shrimp, and one more pound of sausage. When you RSVP, please let me know what you'll be adding to the pot to make it perfect. We also need dessert(s), bread/rolls, and/or salad or cole slaw.
==================================
Passover Seder on April 19th. I have started purchasing the special foods for this event.
We will be deep-frying a turkey. Other foods planned include homemade chicken soup w/matzah balls, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, gefilte fish, honey cake. There will not be any event fees for this event, but assistance with the foods would be welcome.
Hugs, Cheri
