Just what do you see as the future of Naturism?

Whoah..that's a broad question. Do you mean the movement as a whole, or more specifically its development in the US of A?
If in the US...if the current trends remain unchanged, I predict some hard times over the course of the next twenty years. There will always be a demand for the "week-end getaway" at the commercial resort; but I think the rustic, family resort will become endangered. Hence the proliferation of "Caliente-style" C/O resorts, and the near extinction of the small rustic nude resort. Why? With the dwindling of the baby-boomer generation, there will be too few Gen Y nudists to compensate for the big gap left by our elders/peers. It's simple math. Add to this fact the difference in values between the generations, particularily concerning nudity, and the result is quite obviously bleak. Of course, I could end up being wrong; and let's hope I am.
Across the world; I think nudism in Europe will remain naturally unchanged. Because many of the laws there are already nudism-friendly, and every generation gets to enjoy the same rights. Growing up in a society where nudism is easily accessible is quite different from a society where nudism has to be deliberately sought out. Therein lies our biggest impediment.

I think it will expand in popular places and the Nudist / Naturist resort business will start to soar. I am however unsure about the political views and the economics of the Nudist / Naturist Lifestyle. I think that this post is a very good Idea and think it will eventually get many replys.

I hope not, but naturism in Europe might eventually come under threat from Islamic fundamentalism.
With radicals in countries like France, Belgium, Holland etc already demanding separate swimming classes for boys and girls at school, separate sports classes, and refusing the treatment of pregnant women by male gynecologists, once those people turn their attention to naturism I don't know what will happen.

Depending on how you look at it, it could be quite scary.

Interesting, so far.
How about the rest of you, what do you think?

Correct, the Islamification of Europe means the end of naturism in Europe. We had someone from Oslo on another thread saying toplessness was in decline there.

Seems to me that current trends show that the overpriced "Caliente" style resorts are losing money and increasingly considering turning to "lifestyle" swinger dollars to stay alive. (Not long ago I was talking with an AANR official who confirmed that there is some talk about dividing resorts into "family" and "R" rated classes.)
That suggests to me that the more affordable (and low debt) 'rustic' resorts are more likely to prevail as the venues for traditional nudists.
I am concerned however about the increasingly hostile legal environment.

I think this is a good picture of the future of naturism. It's actually thrived in these kind of venues for decades and a campground environment is where I feel most comfortable.

A sort of return to the roots, eh?
I do like the idea of the next generation taking nudism back to what the pioneers had originally intended: a gymnosophic ethos.
Still...just look at the MTV world this new generation is being brought up in. A society where the female nipple is ruled indecent, yet where overt sexuality is displayed and easily accessible on MTV. Not to mention, a socio-cultural trend, leading to legal ramifications adversely affecting nudism. How will today's children/tomorrow's adults be able to reconnect with social nudity when simple things, like showering nude at school or letting your toddlers run nude on the beach are becoming a thing of the past? Where will they draw the inspiration to be social nudists from?

It's scary how "sick minded" some people can be.
