Naked YouTube campaign sweeps the net (http://www.metro.co.uk/weird/article.html?in_article_id=143101&in_page_id=2)
It seems like a good idea, but I got the feeling its just going to be a fad.

I agree, seems like a fad. I do not know how to take the video they had in the story, I do not know if she is being sincere or joking around.

I think this was shot with very little seriousness and she's likely just joking around, and in no interest of promoting nudity. Just my opinion.

I've looked at some of the other videos submitted. Some are taking it more seriously than others. One overweight young lady is talking about body acceptance and accepting her nude body. I liked the second video; very matter-o-fact and straight to the point. My kind of gal. But for others, it is just a silly exercise in strip-teasing.
But all in all, I think many people will walk away with a positive experience from this. So I don't think it's a total waste of bandwidth.

Her cat doesn't notice or care that she's nude, so why should anyone else??

Yeah, it's a fad. That's not to say that I don't find the videos entertaining, but it seems to be more of a game/chain-letter than anything - you do a naked vlog, and "tag" three people to do likewise, and so on. That said, there are some really good naturist-friendly videos.

Whether this is a Fad or not is less important then the fact that people are DOING it. Our ability to view each submission and share in each person's story is, in a word monumental.
I know on most of the YouTube style site I have seen it is possible to Rate the video and Comment on it also, if you are a member of the site. I think this is a highly worthwhile things as well especially if we just say, "I liked this video and it sounded familiar to my own..." type of things. I would normally say, "I like it and I am a nudist, so you should continue exploring and..." but that may be the wrong way to go. It could be more useful to people to know someone liked the VIDEO and the EFFORT that went into making it rather then the message itself.
Nudists appreciate a naked person sharing of themselves and wanting other people to know that simple joy, or rediscover it, also. Some people simply have a difficult time accepting this as a plain truth, and probably suspect there is an ulterior motive at work or it is actually a 'secret network' of nudie kooks promoting their cause.
So, if you agree that people should be accepting of each person's right to present themselves and their opinions or ideals to a wider audience in a FREE forum, then you should say that. Championing the cause of openness and acceptability is just as noble as wishing everyone could simply "understand" nude is not [always] lewd.
These days I cannot stand to be around someone who says, "That person should have kept their clothes on." or "There are some people who simply shouldn't be nudists." I find those comments to be repressive, hateful and essentially mean-spirited. If we are accepting and want to ingratiate ourselves to an increasingly more diverse audience including more international participants, people of color and ones whose religious faith normal prohibits showing skin, then we MUST support every effort to cast off the rags of shame handed down to us by previous generations.

If someone in here is going to naked vlog -- why not discuss naturism while you're at it?

Well, I wound up doing a naked vlog without "tagging" anyone and trying my best to bring up naturism (not through dialogue, though - it's a silent vlog).

I previewed some of the naked vlogs. Not sure how this may impact nudism / naturism but overall I see it as a positive thing. Right now it is in the realm of Titillation and is an oddity but... perhaps the "idea" of nudity could gain in the process.
