SFIFF: Just Like Home

What we love most about watching films at SFIFF is being able to experience something different than your own life. Take for instance, Just Like Home. How else can one know what it's like to live in a small Danish town consumed by the mystery of whom, exactly, is wandering the streets naked?
That is the central premise of Just Like Home. A man is seen walking around at night nude and the repercussions this man has on the lives of some of the townspeople. A group tries to find out who it is through a town helpline called The Silent Ear, where they listen to callers talk about their problems in hopes the nudist will call and confess.
The group at The Silent Ear have their own set of problems: the shop owner barely running his store, the prescription drug addict, the newest addition to the town trying to escape her overly religious past. The movie is a gentle comedy that shows the main characters becoming more than strangers and helping each other out. A bit corny, maybe, for some, but wonderful to watch while unfolding.
