View Full Version : Working Nude (Revised -- Please revote)

Since my last kid moved out recently (and none of my kids are nudist), I'm enjoying more nude freedom. Since I work out of my home, that means that I can also work nude. I find myself wondering -- how many of us work naked? And, how often do we work naked?

Also, I'm curious. If you work in an office or other workplace, and work nude, where do you work? Nudist resort? CFI?

we must answer all questions within the poll. You should have a block in the second question for those of us that work in a work place and can not work nude, but would if we could. Like the poll though. Of course, who would not want to work nude if they could?

Being retired, I indicated "Do not work". However, I do work around the house, cleaning, laundry etc. and do so nude. I am nude approximately 20 hours per day during the week, less on weekends. In a perfect world, it would be nude 24/7.

Shoot, Bikerboy, I didn't realize that. But if I go in and make the change now, then all the votes cast so far will be deleted. Suggestions, anyone?

We're talking about 11 votes so far, hardly statisticly significant.

I'm sure they'll vote again.

And I would simply limit the new option to "N/A" for Not Applicable.

By now, it was up to 26 votes, but I revised it anyway. So, I hope everyone who voted the first time will do so again.

I have a "full time" [but, still "casual"..] job, where I don't work nude, and some "part-time" casual jobs where I do work nude, so that skewed my answer to the second question..

RichNH
09-05-2007, 03:49 PM
Well, that was easier to answer. Now to clarify I don't "work" nude at my job, but when it comes to work around the house, like splitting wood tonight, yup, I work nude.

what happened to wishing we could work nude????? Anyways, you changed it and I re-voted. Thank you for that one. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/applause.gif

In my accounting job I work clothed when in my town office, when doing accounting at home I work nude (summer and warm spring and autumn days only). When doing farm work I work nude if temperature warm enough and when I don't need protection e.g. horse riding or slashing (mowing) with the tractor.

Your poll does not cover all those variations so I answered yes I always work nude at home - weather permitting.

When I work at home (a couple of days a week) about half the time it is nude. I also work in a workplace, and then I don't work nude.

Just to make my responses clear.

When I work at home, I'm always nude. Fortunately technology has progressed where I can do more of my work at home, but not all of it. When I do have to go to the office, I can't go nude, but I am able to be casual. In the summer, it's usually shorts, and a t-shirt or polo, and flips or barefoot.

I've worked the last couple of days at home, and have been totally nude the whole time. I've gotten a lot done, and have been nude for pretty close to two whole days.

A few weeks ago I answered my front door and found two police officers wanting to talk to me. I was dressed as I was going to go out, so I was not nude.

First words out of their mouths was, "We understand that you are a nudist." Seeing they already knew there was no point in denying it, so I said, "Yes I was." There next comment set the stage for the rest of our conversation. "It is not against the law to be nude in you own back yard, so don't worry. You did not do anything wrong." Seems that earlier in the day I had been nude while planting flowers in my side yard garden and was seen by my JW neighbors guest. They admitted to peeking through the spaces between the fence board to see me nude and they were "appaled!" I asked the officers that seeing it was not against the law to be nude in my yard and that I was not doing anything offensive, diden't their looking through the fence gaps make them "Peeping Toms? That is against the law, by the way. He agreed that it indeed did and that he would talk with them about it.

The following day my JW neighbor put up a covering over his side of the fence to prevent any further "Peeping!" When I saw him, I expressed my thanks. He did not have too much to say. That is just as well. Sawdust

Sawdust - Great story. I have a 6 foot fence but here or there of course there are cracks which neighbours could see through if they were really interested in admiring my naked body!

Sawdust I'm reminded of a story I read once where a little old lady called the cops about her neighbor who she could see nude when he was taking a shower in his bathroom. Her complaint was that he was publicly visible. The cops came to her house and asked her to show them the spot where she observed her neighbor. As it was he was taking a shower at the same time. The cops observed that they could only see him from the waist up at which point the woman said that that was because they needed to stand on the little stair ladder that she used in order to see him below the waist.

O so true! The type of work I do requires me to follow up on neighbor disputes and I can't count how many times people say, "You can clearly see thier rear yard if you stand on this ladder or look through the fence". I try and explain about the legal way to view things but some people never learn...

I always dreamt of having a job where I can work nude, but the only time I had it was when I worked from home with phone sales..

I would *LOVE* to work on a nudist resort, however, ironically the staff on nudist resorts have to wear clothes.. its a bit strange.

Everytime I have the chance to work from home, I do all my work in the nude (computer work, phone calls, web meetings)

Wish we could have same clothing policy at the office ;o)

I once was working from home naked, and someone started a video conference call, I was so at ease that I didn't realize I was naked until I had already clicked on accept. I quickly left the room to dress (at least to put a shirt on), but it could've been really awkward, (naked is not professional dress in my business).

Hey...I've been meaning to add this for some time, but waited until after everything related to it was over (as you shall see). I am a real estate broker; I have my own company and work just for myself. One Sunday I was holding open a listing and met a nice, older couple who lived in the neighborhood. They told me they were interested in selling and moving. Of course, I asked for their business and said I'd be happy to let them know how I would price and market their home. Several weeks past, I made a call to them and left a message, but, honestly, didn't think much of it. There are tons of agents around they could call. They did call and we set a date for meeting one evening at their home. So, in a full suit and tie (usual work attire), I show up. The first interesting sign was the "N" sticker on one of their cars in the drive. As I looked around their place, I saw stacks of "N" and "Clothed with the Sun" magazines. So...I asked..."Are you into naturism?" Those who are know what it is and those who don't, don't; it's less intimidating than asking people with whom you're not sure whether they are nudists. They seemed suprised I even knew what that was and told me they were. In fact, they were moving somewhere to be closer to their family and favorite resort. I showed them cards for all the nude organizations I belong and they got a real hoot out of it. "You didn't seem like the type!" the husband said to me. I told them I was SO much the type that, if they liked, I would do my whole presentation for them nude. Well, long story short, we all took a time out and got more comfortable. They gave a towel to sit on and all three of us talked in the living room about selling their house for about two hours; they even gave me a tour, and all of us were entirely nude the whole time. It was a blast! These were people I had "barely" known beforehand, but we carried on as if it were the most natural thing to do. It really was a lot of fun; I got the listing there and then. Unfortunatly, we could not close with the buyers at the title company nude, but it was a fun insider story we shared. They always mention it when they call or write me. Anyway, that's never happened again but it really was a lot of fun. There is a reason I'm allthetimenude! Take care!

Unfortunately, my line of work (air conditioneres) doesn't allow me to work nude. I would love to, but the extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, would be more of a hazard than anything.

Now I have seen my share of nudity from the roof tops. Only wish I could have shared in the excitement, but never did.

Great post Allthetimenude. I cannot say I work. Although most would say I have a very hard and rewarding job. I am a stay-at-home Dad to my little baby girl. So I am able to go nude as long as we are home. The only unfortunate part is that this is a two family house, so I have to keep the blinds only partly open most of the time.

I work in a wholesale retail hardware store so can not work nude during business hours.
There are many times when I have to work after hours, and that is almost always nude.

A few months ago the owner came back while I was working nude setting up some displays. He asked if I was changing to go home and I told him no, this is how I normally work after hours. His only comment was to make sure I could not be seen from outside and to keep a pair of shorts handy in the future in case he comes in late again.

That was about the best "surprise" reaction I think anyone could hope for outside of learning the boss was a nudist also!

The Real Estate brokering story also had an excellent 'hidden' point: If the seller's love for nudism had been kept IN the coffee table drawer, they would never get a chance to practice talking about it!

Here's a quote dervied or inspired in my mind from same:
"As a child growing up the only things that ever looked good to me "all wrapped up" were Christmas presents!"

Cheers!

I have a office where I work at and I do get to spend time nude in there to work on classes that I may going to teach my officers or doing othe types paperwork. I do have a co-worker who is also a nudist and she will sometimes come in there to help me with the paper work and she will be nude also. Although I wished I could work someplace where I could be nude all the time, I do not see that happening in my line of work.

I am adding an attachment of some photos I took at work while setting up our new location.
The pictures were taken using a self timer while I was working on Sunday setting up the racks and stocking the shelves.
I know the terms of use say to smile, but at the time I took these pictures I was not thinking of anyone else seeing them.

Since taking early retirement I decided to build a small extension to the house. I managed to do most of the work in the nude. Thats the footings, bricking pastering and roofing. Got spotted a few times by a neighbour who agreed that I saved a lot of clothes washing by doing it that way.

I am lucky in the situation that we are a small company, with warehouse and offices, and there is always someone undressed here or there in the warehouse; especially in the summer.
I have worked in the office on my own time in the nude, and many times in the warehouse. Being a small company, we have little traffic and our warehouse is not open to the public. There have been many times in the summer that we have been building or stocking the shelving and wearing nothing other than our shoes to protect our feet.
I am unable to disclose where I work as it is against our rules and regulations to disguss such things at my place of employment.
Oh, and I get to take my dog to work everyday as well.
I have the best job!

I couldn't even imagine being nude in some places I have worked. Considering I started out in foundries and saw the aftermath of many a hideous burn I don't have much of an issue with clothing at work.

Now much later in life I"m really starting to see the benefit of freer way of existence. Personally I'd take a place that allowed for a dog over one that allowed nudity if I had to chose between the two. I just see a dog as helping more with stress.

Sometime back there were many posts and chatter all around concerning a Call Center in England that was interviewing for clothing-optional work opportunities. These were legitimate openings as far as anyone could tell; apparently the company knew open-minded european nudists and naturists could do the job!

Larry1, the idea of developing training materials in a private office setting is ideal! You are one lucky guy, especially if the female in your recent posting is only a co-worker and not also your spouse. Well done!

It seems there SHOULD be more opportunities for no-direct-public-contact front counter (not high enough to see over), warehouse, shipping/receiving, stock, logistics or inventory work. Perhaps there will always be limitations on this sort of thing because of insurance and OSHA regulations, except in the case of employees willing to sign waivers and TRULY being appreciative of the "relaxed" nature of such a work environment. It would have to be a cooperative working environment where employees do not normally discuss the clothing-optional/nude nature of their work environment so as to not create a public sensation (or sort of unwanted media frenzy).

New hires would have to be throughly quizzed about their openness and willingness to participate in alternative work environments, and then I would go so far as inviting them to a second interview where their willingness to strip down could be evaluated. There could be a situational "set-up" with basic explanation and an opportunity to "opt-out" and leave the interview before the next "testing phase" (ala M.i.B. testing), and the remaining candidates could be asked to, "Go ahead and remove your clothing if you wish".

What does everyone else think? Wouldn't that be a fair enough evaluation of their willingness, or would you offer them a tour of the facilities where they would see unclothed employees working before the signed on? Certainly a "iron-clad" (iron-unclad?) non-disclosure agreement would be recommended and any new hire would have to agree to respect the privacy wishes of existing employees IN EXCHANGE FOR having their own privacy wishes equally respected.

Heck, I know a few workplaces that could benefit from these standards even without being clothing-optional!!

G'night all!

I have been working nude at home as a telecommuter since mid-2001. What a pleasure. My reduction stress level, job satisfaction and overall happy disposition as an employee (to say nothing of my productivity!) have increased tremendously since being able to work from home, nude about 90% of the year, in comfort and quiet.

Little do any of my co-workers know of my nude telecommuting, although I suspect many of them have done so as well, at least on occasion. Why wouldn't you, if given the opportunity? But as for me, I can hardly remember a conference call or other interaction with my co-workers over the past six years that hasn't been done nude (at least on my side!) -- without their knowing about it, of course!

There's no going back for me. I would never again take a job in an office or anywhere else where I would be required to be dressed all day. Nude is the only way to work for me now, and I plan to retire from this job very soon, to a nudist resort where we plan to spend retirement as full-time nudists. Working nude from home the past six years has only reinforced our desire to live out the rest of our lives as full-time nudists.

Cheers,

I work from home so spend some time working nude. I am still getting used to it in that for phone calls I need to be clothed to be in the right frame of mind; strange that. I recently did a renovation at my mother in laws (who has gone into a home) and did so nude. Last summer I built a sun deck in my back yard and worked nude whilst do that.

Been able to work out of my home in the past, nothing better than getting out of bed in the morning commuting to a desk in the next room and not putting a stich of clothing on until I had to get the mail in the afternoon. Unfortunately, my present situation requires me being in an office again.

I changed jobs about 1.5 years ago. Previously, I got in working from home (nude) about once a week. Sadly, now I must wear a suit and tie every day! <ARGH> However, as soon as I am home, I drop the clothes! If I could find a job where I could work nude and make as much as I do today - well sign me up! It would be a slice of heaven.
