Has anyone almost or has got caught naked by people who don't know they are nudists?

I almost got caught when I went to bed. It was a blistering 40 celcius outside (35 inside) and I wore nothing (as usual) to bed. It was so hot I slept on top of the blankets. In the morning my dad burst into the room. Thankfully my dressing gown was close at hand.

Has anyone else have similar stories?

I recall several summers ago being somewhat suprised by my family. They were on a day-trip and had been gone about 15 min. I was already working in my garage (nude) when they suddenly returned for a forgotten item. My kids still laugh about it.

oh yeah! when our daughter was still at home she would sometimes come home early from work unannounced to us! ther i would be just as i am now posting on cff forum! i figured too late to run and put something on - already busted! she knew of my lifestyle as my wife and i explained to her when we first went to a nudist resort for the week end. she now lives out on her own so i'm nude 24/7 with both eyes on the screen!!

I have been caught by my daughter's friend. They came in and I waited awhile to come out of the office assuming only the family was home as I heard no other voices. I turned the corner from the kitchen and there she was. I turned around and walked back to the office to get my shorts, saying to my daughter that she is supposed to warn me when someone is over. I came back with my shorts on looking at whatever it was they were doing. From then on, she does advise me when a friend is over, so I guess it had positive benefits.

I also was working in the garage (doors closed) when my son's friend's dad came over and went into the garage. I was about 50% under the car and we chatted very shortly and he left. I later called him to make sure we were still cool, and he said as a police officer he sees naked people all the time. He basically said it was my garage and I could do as I pleased, and we are still friends, so I guess it went alright too.

Twice last summer I was caught nude in my garden.

The first time was a passer-by, he did a double take and stared, nothing was said, but isn't it odd that people are so amazed to see a naked person. Why?

The second time was late one afternoon when I came out of the rear door of the garage face to face with a young (married) female neighbour who had come round to see my wife. She was as surprised as me but has not changed her attitude towards me, she is still friendly and smiles, at least she now knows that I like to be nude around the house and what I really look like. I often wonder if she told her husband, but nothing more was said by anybody. It's no big deal really, at least to me, but I am still only a closet naturist and would like to be more open about it, I'm happy for people to know.

My daughter's boyfriend came in the house unannounced and I was laying by the pool asleep naked. I woke up with him standing over me saying "you forget something" and laughing. Now he gets nude whenever he comes over.

I've been "caught" many times over the years.
When my kids were in school, there were several times that they came home with friends when I wasn't expecting them , or friends came over to to play unannounced. It didn't happen often but over the years there were several occasions where I was nude when they came in.

The first time my daughter caught me, I was sun bathing behind a privacy screen in the back yard. I dozed off and woke up when she came back to ask if she could go somewhere with a friend. She was around 11 at the time. She didn't seem as surprised as I was.

Since then 15 or 20 years have passed and I have been caught by several of my in laws, nieces, and nephews over that time.
Most of the time their reactions have been normal, embarrassment, or giggling. Nobody was so shocked or appalled that they needed to seek counseling. They just took it in stride.
I explained to them that I'm a nudist and most of them understand.
The one's that don't want to risk seeing me nude again call ahead now before they visit, but the rest still just drive up unannounced and walk right in.

Two years ago in the summer I was sitting in our florida room when the woman next door walked through the backyard looking for her dog. She cam over to the florida room, it has glass & screens on 3 sides,She saw me sitting in the recliner (nude) and told me why she was there. I put on some shorts and helped find the dog. When found she asked me about my nudity. I told her about nudity and living nude. She was very interested and said that her and her husband often went nude in there home. My wife & I encouraged them to be more open with it. They have expanded their nudity to the backyard and visit us in the nude. We were glad that we were able to bring this couple to a more open nudist life.

I have a make-shift shower arrangement in the back yard. Last summer I was taking a shower when the meter reader came around the corner of the house. He was more surprised than I was.

I don't know if these are close calls but I have been caught nude a few times when unexpected. Once, our son had been sleeping over at a friend's house and they came over while my wife and I were fixing breakfast. Nothing was ever said about my nudity. Another time I was getting ready for work and walked from the bedroom to remind our son to get ready for the schoolbus and he had a friend with him. The most recent time I was putting stones down for our patio when I noticed a neighbor was on the top of a wood swing they were putting together. He just sort of looked and we both continued on with our work.

Close calls, near misses and direct hits!

I've had them all. Been seen straight up and out in the open by our neighbors & our daughters.

The neighbors and daughters have seen almost everything. The neighbors have been very respectful of our way of life and our daughters and son in laws are also very supportive, respectful and at times envious.

Close calls/Near misses; walking nude out into the garage and not remembering that the door was open and the neighbors across the street can see right in.

The neighbor down the street came to ask to borrow a tool. I was taking a shower outside and came into the garage toweling my hair off but naked and uncovered otherwise. Looked up, there he was. He was momentarily embarrassed but we talked while I wrapped the towel around my waist. He's been okay and still very friendly and talkative since then. Don't think he'll be joining us though.

Taking the trash out to the curb on a hot summer night with nothing on but a smile only to have to race for cover as an unsuspecting car approached.

Going out to the front entry to get the bottled water delivery and almost being caught by the neighbor and her son walking up the walkway to sell us school fund raiser items.

Stopped at the neighborhood Starbucks, got a couple of drinks and walked out to the truck. It took a bit longer to get our drinks than normal and when I got to the truck and began to undress for a nude drive to our destination (Palm Springs) one of the Starbucks girls showed up at my window with coupons for free drinks because of the wait. If she had been 15 seconds later...I had only gotten my shirt and sneakers off by this time!


Direct hits!; Being outside in our yard and having the neighbors working in their trees on their roofs or on their patio's and looking over and seeing us either doing yard work or working on our tans.

Walking out to the front of the house to load my car before work and caught red handed and bare butt by the male neighbor. I smiled and said Hi!, He just shook his head.

His wife returning from the store and I didn't notice her driving up the street. I got out of my truck naked and walked into the garage. I know she saw me but never said much about it.

Our daughters coming over unannounced and catching me in the backyard doing yard work. My wife had time to slip on a shirt and shorts but no time to warn me.

There a plenty others but I really don't like posting long, long replies!

Yes, Fireprof sure sounds like he leads an interesting nude life. As I said in an earlier post I was caught out twice this summer, but to be honest I'm quite happy about it, if the secret is out it's better. I don't like having to keep it a secret.

Just a couple of days ago my son's friend (they're 12) was over.. he knocked, but didn't wait and just opened the door. I was nude in our office. I figured it was my son and didn't even try to cover up.. the friend saw, looked away, closed the door before I could really react. I guess that might even make things easier come this summer when we get our pool.

Before that.. I had gone up to my mailbox about 500' from my house. We're pretty rural with a long road and I can easily hear cars/trucks coming.. but this day was really windy. I check the mailbox and damn if a truck didn't come up *right* at the time I didn't see him. I heard a bit of the brake squeel to turn and see him. I had a jacket on to about penis level I guess. I could mostly cover up, but it was obvious I didn't have anything on underneath it. THis was a DHL truck with a delivery for me.. I signed and got the package and went back down my driveway. It was so windy and pretty chilly, I bet the driver thought I was crazy.. lol

When we were building our house, the building inspector (a woman this time) showed up while my wife and I were putting in the floor our of house. All I heard was a gasp and an "oh my". I had been bent over at the waist screwing in some pine boards in the floor... I simply put on some sorts and nothing was said.

Another time, my brother in law (non-nudist, but been here with me nude many times) showed up with his gf's dad to work on the truck. He knew about and was fine with the nudity, but my b-i-l shows up with his gf's mom which he had forgotten to tell them abuot the state of dress at our place. They all show up and she was quite surprise..

"Getting caught" is happening less and less over time since nearly all of our friends both know we're nudists and have visited while we're nude.

I wish I could send you some of this nice weather we have most of the time but right now, it's dang cold outside for Southern California standards.

I'm currently at work. Have gone out on emergency responses 3 times late this evening and I'm searching for my gloves to go alone with a big warm jacket cuz the long sleeve t-shirt and heavy sweat shirt isn't cuttin' it. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/laugh.gif

We are fortunate to have a very fruitful naturist life and are able to enjoy it quite a bit. I am discreet about when and where I appear nude when there's a possibility of being seen. We are nude so much that I forget that doors are open, window shades are open and neighbors are out in their yards as well.

When taking chances, it's usually when I think I have very little chance of being seen but on those rare occasions, a neighbor will decide to alter their routine and that's how I've been caught those times I mentioned.

Hoping weather patterns give you a break up there in the PNW.

There was another time I was hiking naked from the Verde Hot Springs back toward the Verde Campground, carrying only a towel, and I passed a young woman and male who were somewhere between 16 and maybe 19 years old. They weren't a girlfriend-boyfriend; more like a brother and sister -- the guy was trailing the girl by maybe ten feet. After they passed, the girl wailed loudly, in a plaintive, whiny sort of voice4, "I don't know WHY people have to do that!" I turned and replied, conversationally, "I can explain why people do this, if you'd really like to know." She stopped and looked at me, and gave the impression of trying to keep her eyes above my waist. She tossed her head defiantly and said, "Okay, why?" I smiled. "It's fun. It's relaxing. It's harmless. It's liberating. And it saves on laundry bills. The Hot Springs are right over there and everyone goes naked around here. You really ought to try it."

"Thank you," she replied brusquely, "but I'll pass." She turned and stalked off.

But strangely, an hour later, she showed up naked at the hot tub where I was soaking (her male companion was still dressed) and stood facing me, her arms outstretched to the sides, and said, "Okay, you were right! I LOVE IT!"

That was the fastest conversion I've ever seen.

I've been 'caught' unexpectedly many times, but what I often find most interesting can be the reaction of some women when they come upon me, and catch me unaware ...
Several months ago, two teenage girls rode pass me while I was out hiking, and - even though I was only on the side of the track, and directly in front of them - they rode on by without breaking pace or interrupting their conversation, as if it was only a natural and everyday occurence to have a nude man facing them on a bushtrack ..

The only times I've been "caught" were when we were out hiking naked. Once in Floriday. The weatehr was too cold for my wife so she was dressed as we hiked through the Ocala National Forest and two bicyclists came upon us from behind. I said hello to both of them and got a pleasant response back.

The second time we were hiking in Pennsylvania in much warmer weather. I was hiking in front when my wife was surprised by a mountain biker and called to me. I turned around to see what she wanted and gave the cyclist perfect views from the back and front.

The lady was very nice as were the children. They rarely went out into their back yard. They had a large dog and didn't clean up after it too well.

One day, she mentioned to me that she had started taking flying lessons. A few days later, I was working out in the yard, nude as usual, when I heard an airplane flying rather low overhead. I ignored it. There were always planes overhead but this one was lower than usual. In a couple of minutes, I heard if coming back - lower - then it went over a third time!

The next day (Sunday) I was working out in the front yard and saw her 5 year old girl walking their dog. I spoke to her and she told me her mother told her that if she ever saw me without any clothes on to tell her. You don't suppose that airplane...

Good bet, but if you wanted to counter something like that you could've gotten the aircraft tail number and nailed em for a violation of federal air regulations for flying too low over populated areas. (1000ft above ground level minimum)

Yet another close call with my neighbor again this morning. I had gone out and started my truck to warm it up. I had something in the bed of the truck to unload so I jumped in the turned the truck around ( in the nude, of course).

I had unloaded the bed of my truck of an item (truck was 1/2 backed in the garage), closed the tailgate and started to walk out into the front yard to get in the truck (front 1/2 exposed to the outside) and my male neighbor was out front getting his newspaper.

Someone on this forum (was it Gary Nudist, who is a pilot?) previously said that it is impossible for a pilot in an airplane to see below the plane. Therefore, maybe she was not able to see you in your yard.

Well, I've flown several models of airplanes, and it depends on the model airplane. With a high-wing airplane it is easy to see below the wing. Often these planes are used for sightseeing tours since they afford a better view.

Even with a low-wing airplane, if you bank sharply, you can get a good ground view (but not right below the plane.

Exactly, a 172,182rg, and 210's make excellent sightseeing aircraft. It's not hard to see people on the ground while flying at lower levels. Actually, this was how I found out about the resort I attend now.

I may have been the one who said that in a post. That was a while back, but I think someone had expressed concern about being nude in a backyard that was directly under the takeoff path from a nearby airport.

There is no airplane in common usage from which you can see directly below the cabin. You also can't see the ground close in front of you unless the plane is descending.

From a high wing plane (think Cessna) the right seat passenger can see the ground close to the plane on the right. The pilot in the left seat can similarly see close in on the left. However the pilot has other things to do than sightsee, especially at low altitude.

In order to be able to tell whether a person is nude or not from the air the pilot just about has to be flying illegally low. 1000' minimum altitude is 1/5 of a mile up plus whatever horizontal distance is involved. A student pilot who would do concentrated looking down out the side window while flying lower than that would be someone lacking a normal survival instinct.

Since the neighbor lady was apparently willing to fly illegally low, she may have also been illegally carrying a passenger who spotted a naked guy in the next yard. Who knows? Seems to me that it's more likely that she spotted her nudist neighbor in a more conventional way.

Probably the most important point here is that there's no reason to be concerned about an aircraft that flies over your backyard. If you're in a private backyard with no reasonable expectation of being seen by the public, you're legal and anyone else is the Peeping Tom. As far as the people in the plane, it's unlikely that they'll even notice if they're flying the way the law requires. Helicopters might be a different story, but, hey, who cares? We're nudists.
