This one should help dispel the myth that Stu is forever trying to promote, 'Why nude is the new black' in the Toronto Star (http://www.thestar.com/living/article/431889), our very own Andrew Welch even gets a mention, he's the Commercial Manager at British naturism for those that aren't aware.

If black represents a colour that's famous for helping men and women cover their real and imagined figure flaws, it can be assumed our current willingness to embrace all manner of nudity may be a symbol that we are becoming more at ease with our naked selves – warts and all.

Fun article, and for sure nightmarish for Stu. I think the trends described may be right on target -- nudity becoming "less of a hot button issue" as it becomes more routine in films and on tv, fatigue with the promotion of idealized sexy body types merging with a new interest in self-acceptance and new media attention to how different body shapes can look good, growing interest in the environment resonating with people wanting to get natural and feel part of nature, etc.

Assuming, as we often do here, that we are surrounded by a fanatical Victorian puritanistic majority may, in fact, be old news and out-of-touch with trends. Personally, I would not be heatbroken if a trend of "everyday people with everyday bodies refusing to shroud themselves" caused organized naturism -- and vocal anti-nudists -- to appear "too ideological, too fanatical, too eccentric."
