Hey guys,

I've got an account with Photobucket, and this morning when I went into my PRIVATE PHOTO ALBUM, they had this new image (in red) blocking my photograph ~which said that these certain photos were in violation of their policy???? I'm kinda unsure what the problem is exactly, but the one's which had this, were tasteful nude photographs.

Ok my question to you is....

HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM????

and

Does anyone know of another REPUTABLE SITE on-line where you can store photos/have them developed as well... that doesn't have a problem with the nude body???

Thanks in advance! :)

Sorry to hear that you had that issue. Never heard about that with Photo Bucket. Have you tried Snap Fish? They might be a little more forgiving.

Maybe also, you might have to make your photobucket account a "adult" account so that the pictures cannot be seen by everyone.

just a thought.

My ENTIRE Photobucket album is private. They do not accept nudes of ANY sort. Well, they seem to accept some very mild versions, but that's it. For instance, they haven't deleted my pic that's on my profile... It's rather hit & miss. Maybe the nude being artistic is the key? *shrug* Yet they will accept rather explicitly sexual pics, as long as they're avatar sized. Go figure. They are nudist Nazis (my apologies to modern Nazis). And there is no such thing as a Photobucket "Adult" account.

You'll have to use another site for your nudes. I did find one that will accept anything, but i'll have to look that up for you!

Correct me if i'm wrong, but you can always upload directly from your computer to this site though. I think that's an option as well.

Addendum: Sorry, I can't find the site i used to use. But pimpandhost.com (pimp as in do cool stuff to your pics, like sparkles) looks like a nice site that will allow nudity. The other sites i came across looked dubious. I've now joined pimpandhost, and it seems pretty good, although navigation will take getting used to. You have a choice for private or public albums, which is also important to me. Just make sure you say that you will be uploading "adult" pics. Well... i like it so far! :-)

I recommend using www.flickr.com ... easier to use and they allow any type of images.

I agree. I really like flickr as well - especially the fact that you can add friends. I don't, however, like the navigation. I find it very confusing & hard to do things. Nudity etc, must be put in private albums though. I use it as my art photo host.

BUT... i seem to recall a problem with the "private" pics not really being private. There seems to be some sort of issue with that. There is/was a way (a flaw) for people to look into your private albums. They may have fixed this though, i don't know. I just recall warnings from people not to put anything in a flickr "private" album that you didn't want anyone to see.

So far I've not been hassled by Picasa. For a while it was really inconsisted as to me being able to access anything but I don't think it has anything to do with nudism in the pics. It was probably something to do with overall site volume, maintenance or something. That hasn't been the problem in a while. It might just be I've been lucky or the fact that I have everything label "private album" but so far no one from there has said anything to me about anything. Btw I think it's run by Google. I don't know if that'll be considered a pro, or a con, or neither.

Thanks to everyone for the responses!!!! :)

Upon finding what I had described in my PHOTOBUCKET ACCOUNT, I responded to them with a very intelligent/well written response about how the world is diverse , and that nudity doesn't mean pornography and etc... but they just don't get it? Oh well, they can run their site however they wish as it's their right. I was just SHOCKED!?!?!?!

But anyway this is what they sent me via e-mail yesterday in response (below):

------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Mrs Natura,

Your account contained images which violate our Terms of Use.These
Terms apply to all users regardless of the Public/Private setting of the account.

When you created the account, you agreed to abide by these terms and we
clearly explained the consequences of violating those terms.

Photobucket.com attempts to maintain a website that is absent of
offensive, indecent or objectionable content. That is our general policy and your images were removed in accordance with that policy. The Photobucket.com Terms of Use, found at http://www.photobucket.com/terms, reflect that policy by giving
Photobucket the right to remove content that, among other things, (a)
it deems unlawful, obscene, harmful, threatening, defamatory, or hateful; (b)
invades the privacy of any third party; (c) contains nudity, illustrated
nudity, pornography, illustrated pornography, child erotica, or child
pornography; or (d) Photobucket deems otherwise objectionable.

Sincerely,

Your Photobucket Support Team

Wow, NEVER IN MY LIFE has anything related to "me" been thrown into a category with PORNOGRAPHY & etc??? Wow, they really try to make you feel like a scum-bag for absolutely nothing ya know. ***sigh*** People who know me would totally freak-out 'cause I'm the type of person that folk would describe as sweet family oriented person. Oh well....

This world is so messed up... how can "the masses find the body to be so OFFENSIVE?!!" I've never realized how bad it was until recently?

As for my response to some of your responses...

***1st off my photobucket account was totally PRIVATE & didn't allow the public to view any of my photos including the two SUPER NASTY/DIRTY PORNOGRAPHIC one's which they spoke of?!!! (<---being SARCASTIC in case ya don't know!!!)

***Flicker does have limits on what you can upload to their site & I was looking for a FREE SITE, so that probably wouldn't work for me as I LOVE to take LOTS of photos/can't afford a subscription to anything right now.. But I shall consider looking @ their rules & regs to see what they say? I hardly have any nude photos anyway, but I'd still like to be able to take them if I wish/have them/process them someplace where it isn't such a big deal & you go to hell over it!?

***Regarding the other INFORMATION/SITES listed, I shall check 'em all out!!! ;)

By all means keep this thread going & if anyone else has had any problems or has an account with any other site with no probs let me know/share here, as I'm sure that others would love to hear about it! :)

THANKS bunches!!!

P.S.- SO WHERE HAVE YA'LL DEVELOPED YOUR NUDE PHOTOS, WHICH DIDN'T HAVE AN ISSUE/PROB WITH THE NATURIST CONTENT??????

According to these terms, Photobucket can object to anything it wants and remove it from it's servers. These kinds of terms are not unique to Photobucket and you have to read the "terms of service" very carefully. I wouldn't take it too personally.

As for where I develop all my own photos (nude or otherwise) I do it all myself at home on the computer. Digital Photography is wonderful for that. I don't use services, like Photobucket, for online storage or sharing, either.

One of our male artist guild models wanted many photos of himself in the nude in different poses. He went to a small place (in the mall?) where they develop photos via a machine, right there on the spot, and asked the one who developes them if she had any objection to developing nude art poses. She replied that she had no objection. She did a good job at developing them.
