View Full Version : Finland
I am going to Finland with work next month and while I realise that naturism is not that common there, hope to be able to relax naked in some saunas, go to the famous nude swimming pool in Helsinki and maybe even stay on for the weekend and get out to the country.
Are there any particularly good public saunas in Helsinki ? In the country ?
I have heard that business meetings sometimes get held in a sauna, I think that would be interesting but wonder whether they think that as a Brit I wouldn't want to try - would be interested to hear others experiences.

Hello
By the famous naked pool has a sauna of course. In every hotel there is a sauna. Then there is public sauna named ARLA. Finnish people have own saunas at home.
I have joined business meetings in sauna with foreigners and both sexes. There has been people from many countries. They are not very common.
Welcome to Finland
Thanks, can you help with a few queries please:
Do the hotels all have saunas that are available for public use ? From reading around I get the impression that most make the sauna available for private hire rather than having general opening.
Also there seems to be a sauna in Kuopio that may be worth going to on a trip of the lake district, do you know if this has male and female sections and, if not, whether it it nude ?
Finally, if you go for a swim in a lake after a sauna, would this normally be nude or not ?

Most of hotel saunas have some time open to all hotel guests and some to hired. There is no rule but this is most common way.
You may be talking about Rauhalahti near Kuopio and there is a sauna for bouth sexes. Most of better public pool have also a steam bath for both sexes ans of course there people are naked exept Russians who do not understand any language.
Naked or not to lake depends onplace. There is no rule.
Sorry you had wait my responce.
