Best summer 2008 naturist experience?

Well, it's official -- school re-starts next week in France so the last weekend of summer just finished today! :cry: It was a beautiful sunny day at St Aygulf and we were among the several hundred naturists who held out till sundown to soak in the last summer holiday rays! Of course, many American schools have already started, but then you have Labor Day which is sort of a deferred summer day, and of course the Aussies are undoubtedly sniggering that summer is just starting! :)

So, for northern hemispherians, what has been your favourite beach or resort or other naturist experience(s) this summer?

Just about every day is nude living when we're at home, except for the few days we had company. Unfortunately I was working so much that I had fewer summer days at home than usual.

We had a great few hours of freehiking with Garden this summer, culminating with a refreshing skinnydip in one of the best mountain swimming holes I've ever seen. We also had a great nude time on an absolutely perfect day at Lake Tahoe (for those who may not know the US West, Lake Tahoe is a wonderfully scenic lake in the California Sierra; think Switzerland for comparisons).

For me my best day this summer was my trip to Pine Tree resort with my wife. We were given an tour and made feel extremely welcome by everyone. After a few hours chatting it felt like we can make some real friends who are nudists :) A bigger plus was that my wife was totally at ease all day and I think she even forgot she was nude!! and she wants to go back

I'm nude most of the time when at home. Highlight this year is my wife has regularly showered off outside without her suit after swimming with it. Hopefully, she'll some day doff the suit entirely.

Best part of the summer was meeting all of you!!

The next best part was the day we were at Laguna Del Sol and the Blue Jay moved in to our Jeep and was rummaging through our snacks and wouldn't let us in until he got the Funyuns. That was a great day by the lake, and we stopped on the island bridge and watched a young gilr feeding the turtles. They were all just treading water (some BIG ones too!) waiting for her to throw the bread pieces in the water, then SNAP! The fish and turtles were all over each other trying to get the food, it was hilarious!

Also on that trip, we met the nicest couple in the conversation pool that eveing. They had just bought a new motorcycle and has their first road trip on it that day. My wife was griping about some soreness in her wrists. The lady gave her a magnet necklace to use as a bracelet to see if it helped, it actually did! The nice lady told her to keep it. How nice!!! She still uses it. Names witheld for their privacy.

My wife and I spent a week at White Tail, a week at White Thorn, and two different weeks at MAHESO. A wonderful naked summer.

The last two weekends, which had nearly perfect weather in New England, and the Eastern Gathering in June.

After reading about it for years, we finally got to St.Martin and Orient Beach. The Jersey shore does not even begin to prepare you for what you'll experience in the Caribbean! Even if we never get there again, we'll never forget the soft white sand and crystal clear water of the beach.

Hopefully my main nude activity of this summer is just beginning as I shall be the whole of this month in the Portuguese Algarve, with ample opportunity and the weather to go with it, all being normal.

Going to my local club, Kaniksu, for their Bare Buns Fun Run and seeing over 300 runners and walkers with 98% of them running nude, and most of them do not consider themselves nudists. It is the one day of the year this little club gets packed. Great time and I saw friends from as far away as southern California and Texas.

like many others i'm nude in the home 24/7. on limited budget like many others so travel was scarce. the best time, any time, is when nudist friends come to visit and just sit and chat over coffee.

The hedges in our yard around the pool finally provided enough privacy where we could skinny dip all the time. A trip to Black's Beach over the Labor Day weekend reminded me of how lucky we are we have a beach where we can stroll naked along the sand.

In short, it's all good whenever I get to take all my clothes off and experience that great liberating feeling.

As it has been in the past few years, our nude vacation to the Bahamas tops the list. We rent a house on a semi-secluded beach on one of the Out Islands, and basically go nude the whole time. There are a few other houses around, but not many in the rental inventory. Aside from a few people on the far north end of the beach, we basically had the entire 1.5 mile beach all to ourselves. We had a few day-trippers about 1/3 mile to the south, and the local fisherman who worked the bay most every day, but they stayed on that end of the beach. Unlike last year, we didn't really see any other nudists enjoying the beach. Oh well, it was their loss.

We were on the island for just over 9 days. I wore "real" clothes (shorts and shirt) for maybe 3 hours total. I wore a swimsuit for less than 30 minutes total, and a pareo/sarong for maybe another hour total. Outside of that I was totally nude the whole time. My wife was nude as well, but she'd wear her suit just a bit more than me. She's a little more shy than I am.

I also made the entire trip barefoot, including all of the travel to and from. I've always gone barefoot once we got to the island, but this time, I arrived at the airport here barefoot, and stayed barefoot until a few days after we returned.

It's a fantastic way to relax before the busy fall. We get away from it all, including our clothes!

Well, for me my favorite part of the summer was frolicking buck-naked at the local nude beach. There is nothing like the feel of the wind on your free body. Plus, the people at nude beaches seem to be friendler. There is just something about being naked together.

My own favourite summer experience involves new naturists. When? Which town? Which continent? I am not going to tell, and you'll understand why. The wife of a young couple in their 20s approached me, told me they'd overheard me talking about a beach outing, they'd talked about it and wondered if, next time, we would mind if they came along? I said 'Great! We'll enjoy going together!" There would normally be nothing exceptional about this, except that she is someone who always wears a headscarf/etc and I know they are devout Muslims. (No, I am not going to say from which country!)

My wife (who grew up Muslim but is very secular) called her during the week, found out it was initially her idea but her husband was ok to give naturism a try, and arrangements were made for the next weekend. At the beach, which was pretty full but not crowded, we found a free spot, did a little ritual of marking a square in the sand as "home away from home" and settled into a nice picnic-style afternoon of sun and relaxation. Chatted, read, fussed with umbrellas -- the usual.

Then it happened. There was a couple with two pre-school boys a few meters/yards away from us. One of the boys wandered over our way, our friends said something in Arabic to each other, trying to guess his age, and the little boy responded in Arabic. Long story short, it turned out the two couples' families were from close-by towns in two neighbouring countries, and both now lived abroad in different countries. (No, I am not going to say which countries!) Umbrellas,etc got moved to create and single picnic area, and then just lots of friendly lively conversation as the boys continued playing.

Somehow I felt like I was witnessing the very beginning of something, like the birth of a star... For now, if I hear anyone denying the existence of Muslim naturists or expounding on the incompatibility of naturism and Islam, I am just going to smile, Don't ask me to say when or where, but I can confirm that naturism is quietly growing and evolving.

My best naturist experience this summer would be when I vacationed for a week at Sun Sport Gardens Resort in Florida. The cabins are small and rustic, but the people there more than make up for it with their friendliness and personality. The ground are simply beautiful- with dense tropical plants and vegitation. There lots to enjoy there with the hiking trail, Swimming pool, Spa Friday evening drum circle and activities in the screened dance pavilion.

The food was also exceptional thanks to chef Kyle.

My best experience was definitelt my visit to Forrest Hills in Michigan since it was my first try at social nudism.... It was so enjoyable and nice to finally walk around in the nude and enjoy a day with others that enjoy it too....

This past summer I did a lot of solo free hiking. I truly enjoyed it.
Offered to take my wife down into the gorge one Sunday afternoon and to my amazement, she accepted. She loved the hike, too.
A week later, a bunch of my buddies also came down to the gorge for a hike and they too, had a great time.
It was wonderful sharing my special world with those I love.

For me it had to be the Fremont Summer Solstice- 300+ people riding bicycles through Seattle wearing only paint. It was a blast!

It wasn't a great summer for getting naked as I spent a lot of time in the midwest for family events -- occasion to feel vulnerable, but no occasion to get naked.

But then I traveled farther west, and the trip included some time at Orient Land Trust in Colorado: almost a whole week naked, day and night, soaking, hiking, reading and sleeping. It was truly relaxing and wonderful.

On my way back to the east coast I stopped at Avalon Resort for the music fest: again, a few solid days and nights of wearing nothing -- and having a great time listening to good music.

I did get a few days in at PSHS, not far away in Pennsylvania, too: not nearly enough, of course ... but those days were good nevertheless.

My wife and I spent a wonderful week in a private villa in St. Barts, a French island in the Caribbean near St. Martin. Our villa was completely private, with decks, terraces, a pool and a jacuzzi, and we were able to be nude whenever we wanted -- me all the time, she when in the sun or swimming. We also spent most afternoons at one or the other of the two clothing optional beaches (Grand Saline and Gouverneur), where I was nude and she was topless (she is still shy about total nudity in public). both of these beaches are almost completely undeveloped -- no houses, hotels or facilities, just the beach as nature made it. There is something soft and sensual about the air and water in the Caribbean -- it is a perfect place to be nude, although the number of nude beaches is distressingly small. For us, the St. Barts combination of a villa with total privacy and the availability of two clothing optional beaches was perfect.

This year, like most recent years, the high spot of the summer was a trip to Sorobon in Bonaire. I've never found anywhere quite as relaxing, or quite as special. It's about the only place we've ever stayed where my wife gets truly emotional about leaving!

Living in the UK, our weather is fairly poor, so trips to sunny places are very welcome! I was also fortunate enough to be able to spend a couple of weeks at Caliente Caribe in the Dominican Republic, which is a tremendously good resort (and greatly under-rated). And I've just returned from Vera Playa in Spain - one of Europe's major naturist beaches, with a well-established infrastructure of naturist apartment complexes, linked (believe it or not) by naturist roads!

But I have to say that Sorobon remains the favourite.

Fortunately this year the family is able to enjoy two summers. We spent three weeks in Canada in July and thoroughly enjoyed a 5 day stay at Bare Oaks Naturist Park just north of Toronto. Being spring in New Zealand, we are now looking forward to our "second" summer of the year. It's been warm enough already to spend an hour or two on the deck with nothing on but a sunhat, sunnies and a smile. It will be even better when we can spend the whole day outside without clothes.

Summer is only just startng back up around my neck of the woods so I'm looking forward to spending alot more time without my kit on. Last year's summer was the first I've spent with my partner who has been open minded enough to give it a go so it would have been my best nudist summer so far :)

I've been travelling on company business to Zurich a lot this year, and the last trip in June was by far the best! Most trips were too cool to enjoy much nude time outside but the June trip was perfect and I had the whole weekend to myself. I did a lot of checking around until I finally remembered the nude areas would be called FKK. I Googled and found a few places to try all within easy public transport distance. My first stop was the Werdinsel park in the middle of the Limmat river. I arrived early and walked the entire length seeing no one nude until I got to the far end where I finally found the spot. There were only a few people around to start with but as the day progressed more and more showed up. It was quite a mix of nude and clothed people, both men and women of each variety. It was my first real experience being nude anywhere (my backyard, the local wooded trails don't count) and I loved every minute of it. I had a day trip planned for Sunday and cut it short to be able to go back and spend more time there.

our best time in the nude this summer was a weekend in avolon. we took another couple with us that are close friends. it was there first time with public nudity. we had a wonderful weekend in the sun. the weather was perfect and we all want to go back next summer

My best experience of the summer was not in the summer time at all but just last weekend.
Due to work and the price of gas, this summer has meant staying close to home.
Last Saturday the temps here in Southern California where in the low to mid 80’s with clear skies. I knew this would probably be one of the last opportunities this year of getting to Deep Creek hot springs so I arranged my schedule to have the day off.
I left the house around 9AM and was nude before I got to the corner. Arriving at Bowen Ranch just after 11, I paid the $5.00 entrance fee (still nude) and drove down to the parking area. Taking only my small cooler chest with food, water and a towel I headed down the trail to the hot springs.
This late in the season there are not as many people going to the springs so I only passed about 6 people, all textiles, hiking out as I was hiking in. There was one naturist hiker that passed me also going down to the springs, however he was going much faster then I and was out of sight in about five minutes.
At the hot springs there were only about two dozen people there, compared to the 50 or more normally there on a summer weekend. Also the ratio of nude to clothed was close to 50% which is also rare. Usually only about 10 to 15% of the people going there are nude, however I should point out that normally no one has a problem with anyone being nude.
I was able to spend the day reading, swimming, soaking and socializing with those there for the same reasons as I was, namely to get away to somewhere that being dressed or nude makes no difference.

My best experience this past summer was 4 glorious days spent at Ponderosa Naturist resort for the annual volleyball tournament. I was able to spend almost 4 full days nude and loved it. I will definitely be going again next year.

Unfortunately, due to heavy work load and extended family needs I did not get a chance to visit any venues where I might have enjoyed the settings with you all. So only the backyard saw my naked body. Hopefully next year will be better.

This year was my first naturist year. My highlights have been four days at little beach during my week in Maui, one day each at San Onofre and Blacks beach and and a nude swim with the local non-landed club, Naturists in the OC.

It's been a good year :)

My wife and I had a friend go to the club with us she was a co- worker where I work she went twice with us now she want to go a hot tub with us so we are taker her in the new year in January when it my birthday my wife asked her to come along with us.

I can't say that there was one best experience of the year. Overall, the weather was great for the beach and I got there almost every weekend. Being able to take the motorcycle on the 1 hr. ride there made it even better, combining two of my favorite things.

My best experience of the year was enjoying time with my wife on her first skinnydip and hot tub with me at Cypress Cove.

The second choice is my 11 visits to Lake-of-the-Woods Club in Indiana where I was able to hike miles and miles around the lake, followed by sunbathing at their beautiful pool.

A week at Paradise Lakes is a distant third, barely rating a mention.

Summer of 2008 was very interesting to me as well because I met some friends and the weather was nice at deer park and I did develop a nice tan and I plan on going there again soon. what a delight it is to go nude and feel part of nature and among friends and because of the cool temps we are now having I just remain nude in the house and backyard when my neighbor is not home.
