Hey all. It's starting to get cold and wet up here in Canada. No more outside nudity on my deck. Now it's just inside with the heat turned up. It's not the same. What do most of you do to get through the cold months?

Fortunately the winter weather in New Zealand isn't nearly as severe as in Canada. Even so, in the winter, we turn up the heat to stay comfortable and spend time at our local nudist club going to the spa pool.

Fortunately too, we are headed into summer. We had a nice day today - nice enough to sit out on the deck with a cold beer and without clothes. I guess that's the other thing that gets me through the winter - looking forward to summer.

During the fall, winter, and spring months I go to my non-landed club's swims whenever I get the chance. It's a 70 mile trip (one way) but being nude with friends in the pool makes it worthwhile.

Nude swims are also my way of getting through the winter. Between all the various clubs in Vancouver, we have at least 4 swims every month.

The only option for me is a trip to the Richmond Sauna in Maine. Long drive but a good cure for cabin fever. I go at least 2 or 3 times between November and May. They have a sauna, outdoor hot tub, and indoor heated pool. Of course the challenging thing is you have to go outside to go between them. However, it's really cool to be out in the hot tub during a snowstorm.

One year we had a 60+ degree day in late February, and I was able to do a nude hike in the snow. Unfortunately that was 3 years ago and the conditions haven't repeated since.

Otherwise it's indoors with the wood stove going.

You also have the Maine Coast Solar Bares, http://www.mcsbs.ws , who will be having a few events in southern Maine, and those will be closer than Richmond.

Naturist New Hampshire will be having some events in SW New Hampshire not far from I-91, and that's closer to you than Richmond Corners, Maine.

Long Island Travasuns will be having some Saturday night swims on Long Island (eastern side near NYC) and those are closer to you.

Like most here I do turn up the heat indoors however I also try to get some outdoor nude time as well. I like to hike and even if there is snow on the ground and it is below freezing as long as the sun is out and there is no wind I can work up a sweat hiking. So I shed clothes as I hike and I even get fairly close to being nude except for boots and a hat and put everything else in the pack. I also try to get to nude swims or even a sauna or hottub as a treat occaisionally in the winter. I am working on getting a outdoor hottub and sauna in my backyard that would be awesome! I would love to be sitting outside nude in the hottub with the snow coming down. I have done it in the past but it would be great to have that in my own backyard.

Not much better in Michigan. Had a warm spell a few weeks ago but summer is over, did enjoyed the warm nights those few days. I guess it's the trouble of being a nudist in the "cold" north- don't like it. It's being raining for the past 2 days and that's not helping.

Thanks, usuallylurk, will check it out. Have attended one NNH event a few years ago - the dates just didn't work out for me last winter.

Homes in Taiwan usually don't have heating, and there are no naturist resorts, so winter means ... no naturism at all.

Luckily, winters are short, November to March with short spells of warm weather (20+ centigrade) inbetween.

Beautiful Spring-like weather here in Queensland "The Sunshine State", around 26C today.
Nice to be getting clothes off again.
The Spring Equinox is Sept 22.

In winter it's clothes on at all times I'm afraid. I don't live in the coldest of climates, middle of winter coldest temp we might get would be no less than 5deg celcius but day time is never less that 10deg. Clothes have a purpose when it's cold and that's to keep me warm.

Oh do I wish for some cool weather! Its 26C right now (10:30 am) and it will be a high of 32C today, and this is weather that is getting ready for winter, so its cooling off. *sigh* Being from Winnipeg I like my cold winters, I like my snow, I don't get any here in the desert of California. Ugh.

However I am going back to Wpg at the end of dec with my wife to visit my mother. Its gonna be soooo nice! I am soooo looking forward to this. My wife thinks I am trying to kill her. She is born and bred Californian. :D

Sorry to take this off topic a bit, but I miss my cold weather. :p

It doesn't get THAT cold in this part of Texas. Rarely is it below freezing for more than 24 hours. Just throw a bathrobe on "to keep it legal" when outside, like setting out the trash, getting the mail, etc.

It is also a great opportunity to do some baking.

Similar to Texas here in Virgina.

Usually warm enough in the afternoon even in the winter to go naked.

Wear a long sleeved shirt or jacket to get the paper in the mornings. Fool around inside, maybe on the computer some in the cool mornings, go bowling, do volunteer work. Save the warm afternoons for nude time outside.

Hi.

It definitely feels like fall today here in southern Ontario - it barely got to 11C; most of the day it's been around 8C, cloudy, dull and rainy.

Canada is a nice country, but our season for outdoor nudity is *very* short. We've got central heating, of course, but for most of the fall and winter, and early spring, I have my clothes on! (Even with the heat cranked up.)

Dave yyz66
freezing already; see you in summertime !

It is getting chilly here too. Basically all i have to look forward to now are a few nude get togethers with friends, chilling out nude at home and going in the sauna at the gym. Not a great list . . .

Going up to 19c tomorrow then cooling off later in the week. I find this time of the year more enjoyable at my secluded location at my acreage. Not to hot. Angle of sun is around 35degees. Leaves are falling off of trees, but still a bit of privacy if you dont stand up.

Up here in Canada, I think you do get used to the cold weather. If it is a nice cold sunny day with no wind, I doo enjoy going down to our nude beach and walk around wearing only a small jacket, a pair of boots and socks and nothing else. It feels good feeling that cold breeze on your ! bare buns but you have to keep moving

My mother ws talking to my wife last night and explaining people are starting to cover up in Winnipeg, starting to add layers. Then commented that in spring the exact same temp will see them in shorts and a t-shirt. :D

We Canadians are an odd bunch. If it went to -10C today, we'd all be freezing. -10 in March is so warm!

Hey,Qikdraw:
Take your skates. I read where Winnipeg set a world record for having the longest skating rink in the world.
Might be too cold to skate nude, though!

I've been wondering the same thing about what nude activities will be possible this winter. Recently made my first visit to Wreck Beach but can't imagine doing so again until the weather warms next spring. The thought of donning a heavy coat while exposing bare buns just doesn't appeal to me.

Welcome any suggestions others may have.

As a single nudist I'm not sure how well I'd be readily accepted at the nude swims which occur regular during the cooler months north of the border in Vancouver, BC. Though I do intend to look into this possibility.

I think my mother went skating on it. I think they used the Assiniboine river.

I believe its Kildonan Park that has a creek running through it and every year its cleaned off, lights strung up along its banks and you can skate through the park. I remember going with my youth group when I was younger. I never did take a date to that, but I always thought that would make a nice romantic date.

I don't think I'll be bringing my skates to Wpg though, they'll probably get me arrested from bringing weapons onto the plane. (even if its packed in my luggage) :D

The temps here in northern Nevada just dropped 40 degrees in 2 days. Our daytime highs just went from the mid 70's to the mid 30's and then it started snowing. Very abnormal for this time of year. So much for laying out on my deck (forget swimming, the pool is very very cold right now). Oh well. At least I have a large south facing patio door where I can lay down a blanket and "imagine" that I'm on a nice warm sunny beach. It totally sucks but what the heck its better than nothing.

It dropped pretty heavy here too. We had 3 days of heavy, cold wind, and the cold doesn't seem to have gone away. I went from window open, fan on, and sweating at night to pulling on the heavy blankets.

Right now (at 7:45PM) its 8C.

I don't know whats gotten into me, I suppose its the way the weather changes here. I donno, but when you've had +40 for a lot of the summer, going down to 8 sucks. lol Plus being here for 7 years now has really lowered my tolerance. :( I really donno what its going to be like at the end of dec when we head back to Wpg. lol

Better take your woolies! It has been 8C here during the day recently. :) Of course, Winterpeg at Christmas promises to be colder. 8C would be a heat wave! :D

I have been toying with the idea of being nude outdoors into the colder weather. Yesterday I was able to be nude on my back deck it was 58 F with lots of sunshine and very little wind. I am thinking of rigging a additional windbreak constructed out of plywood and painting it black to absorb heat and possibly adding an electric blanket on top of the lounge chair. Not going to be spending lots of time outside regardless but just would be nice to get a dose of sunshine in winter. I have been nearly nude when doing hard physical labor outside in 32 F 0 C. I found as long as I kept moving I was very comfortable. I think getting some sunshine in winter is key to being healthy and happy.
