Why is it that liberals seem to be so filled with hate? It used to be that a liberal was a person with an open mind- what happened? It seems that the liberals of today are the most narrow-minded opinionated pinheads around. I used to consider myself to be fairly open -minded, or even liberal in some cases, but the liberals of today are embarassing.

I don't see that. I'm liberal and I don't consider myself hateful. If I'm arguing with a conservative I may throw a few zingers but that's just sport. It seems to me that 90% plus of the hatred and bile comes from the right.

Why are liberals filled with hate? Why are you so quick to judge an entire group without knowing everyone? I am a liberal and I am not filled with hate. Please do not include me in your generalizations.

Do you mean hate filled liberals like Rush Limbaugh (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/john-ridley/rush-limbaugh-hates-mexic_b_127902.html)
But there is a certain point to the smear. Liberals are angry.
Liberals hate stolen elections and deliberate purging of voter registrations because of home foreclosures or because the voter is a soldier overseas.
Liberals hate crony capitalism that undermines real free markets
Liberals hate no bid reconstruction contracts that have failed to rebuild most of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast 3 years after Katrina - but have paid billions to cronies.
Liberals hate war profiteers who take over duties that soldiers and government employees used to do, only to have them do substandard work that kills soldiers in their showers and provides them tainted water while being overcharged.
Liberals hate deliberate policies to widen the income gap and make the middle class poorer
Liberals hate seeing lies used to send our troops off to war
Liberals hate to see our freedoms curtailed in order to protect "our freedom"
Liberals hate to see our Constitution shredded and ignored
Liberals hate the "love the fetus, hate the child" policies that have allowed the US to have the highest infant mortality (http://current.pic.tv/2008/08/28/us-has-highest-infant-death/) rate in the industrialized world.
Liberals hate the trade policies that move our essential industries (and jobs) to low wage nations (at what point do we cease to be a first world nation?)
Liberals are certainly full of hate.

Ditto what others said.
I believe that statements like "liberals are all full of hate" only add to the polarization that we are seeing in the US these days. It serves absolutely no useful purpose, nor do blanket statements.
I have also noticed that any disagreement with current right wing policies, no matter how civil, gets labelled "hate". Why is that?

I don't consider myself liberal or conservative. I think the moderates on both sides have some ideas of merit. Never did understand why people feel it is so necessary to have a label for themselves. Also, I fail to understand how one group of people can always be right in everything, and another group be completely wrong 100% of the time.
That said, there are extremes on both sides. But it does seem that those on the right are a lot more vocal about their disagreements with the left, and a lot nastier, and have absolutely no tolerance for the other side. They also seem to think that somehow "God" is on their side, so their words and actions are justified. I also don't understand how liberal has become such a dreaded word over the last few decades. I don't think conservative is any better, yet somehow that word is still ok among politicians.

This thread and your "opinion" do not support a constructive conversation.
