Not an event exactly! I was away from White Tail Resort most of the year. Before we got too tied up to return, I a friend and I cut brush and trees to clear a nature walk. Well, in the interim, a member there did the finish work mowing, filling low spots, thinning brush, etc. to create a really fine walking and biking path through the woods. My hat is off to him! And possibly his wife too.

Name omitted on purpose.

Wow...just had a flashback.

Although my story takes place a decade ago at WTP; and for all I know it's a different trail that you're mentionning. Well; back then it wasn't really a trail - just a narrow path through the woods.

In any event, it holds some sentimental value for me. It was my wife and myself's first trip to a nudist resort. I had been nude at the beach before; her never. We got to WTP and I undressed...we had agreed prior to the trip that she would keep her button sundress on. And that nude under the sundress was the furthest she was going to go. As sat on a bench, she was very visibly "stressed out" (thinking that everyone was looking at her), I decided to take her on a stroll on a short path nearby. The quiet intimacy of the stroll did in fact help her relax; I was walking in front of her due to the narrowness of the path; and when I turned around to see how she was doing, I found that she had completely unbuttoned her sundress- after she had spent the entire previous evening saying: "You know I'm not going to go nude, right? I hope you're not expecting it, 'cause it's just not going to happen!" She stated that she initially did it because it was restricting her movements; but liked the feeling of the fresh air on her body so much that she unbuttoned the whole dress. I figured she would button it back up when we got back to the main area; but nope, she didn't. It stayed unbuttoned the rest of the day; occasionaly closing it back up if someone walked by; which I'm sure must have made some of the seasonned nudists there go: "". It would take a few more trips before she eventually openly went nude; but that was her first try, and it happened on the WTP trail.

Good memories! Thanks for the flashback, tinner!:)

The WTR trail was pretty nice for running on during the Summer before this last one (2007) and I included it in my daily runs even though there were "low spots".

I only took to running again after also turning around my diet and beginning to consciously re-evaluate the foods I was putting in my body. Prior to that it had been thirteen years since I actively "pushed" my body beyond the demands of ordinary, everyday living.

So this natural trail holds a special spot in my heart and life for helping me to realize if I were ever to be "tested" in an emergency (i.e. run for your life, or run to save someone else's), that I should continue taking better care of myself. Something we rarely consider as parents, spouses and friends is not whether we WOULD try with all our being to save someone but whether we would SUCCEED in saving them, or ourselves.

Here's to hoping we will all be inspired to take better care of ourselves and each other in 2009!!
