19 Travelites and friends made plans to celebrate the annual Thanksgiving Feast. They came from Chapin, Ridgeway, Camden, and all over the Columbia area. The attendees started arriving at about 4pm. There were lots of snacks on which to munch including fresh fruit, garlic/spinach dip as well as cheeses and a variety of crackers. We all enjoyed the variety until the the deep-fried turkey was ready to be enjoyed .
The new deep fryer has some kinks that need to be worked out. Many thanks to Larry P. and Paul for helping out. Everyone socialized in the hot tub until it was time to go inside to indulge in absolutely scrumptious dishes among which were homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potato casserole, string bean casserole, wild rice stuffing. A variety of pies were a very fit conclusion to this yummy meal. There were few leftovers, maybe enough turkey for one or two sandwiches.
Right before dinner, we made a toast while in and around the hot tub in memory of Jane Ann with "Barefoot" merlot. She will be missed.
Our next event will be a Lobster Bash at Larry's in Ridgeway. A dear friend of mine is donating the lobsters (Thanks Phil- he'll be getting them to me on that Friday). We need everyone to bring something to add to the dinner. I will be making pasta Alfredo for those who cannot eat the crustaseans. So far others will be bringing sweet butter and lemons. We still need a salad/dressing or coleslaw, rolls, desserts, dry white wine to cook them in, etc. We still have a few unclaimed animals. This will be followed by our Winter Holiday party on Saturday, December 20th at Paul & Terry's in Camden. There will be a grab bag under the tree after an Italian themed potluck supper. Please bring something between $5 & $10. Please label it either man, woman, or neutral. Those who are bringing their children, please bring something for them to open. This event will start @ 4:30. The last hot tub party of the year will be at our property on Dec. 27th. Let me know if you would like this to be a theme party or just a generic potluck supper. It will begin at 4:30. Paul & Terry have graciously offered their home for a New Years Eve celebration. If you would like to spend the night, please bring a pillow and/or air mattress. Heavy hors d'oeuvres is what we'll be snacking on.

Please remember that everyone is responsible for their own beverages. Folk usually bring snacks to share. Reservations are appreciated at least 3 days in advance to all events. If you cannot make an event for which you have told us you'd attend, a phone call is very much appreciatecd. We are family and worry when you don't arrive.Hugs, Cheri
