This link was posted on the British Naturism forum, so I had to share it with you guys.

World Nude Day (http://www.worldnudeday.com/)

So what do you think, will there be any additions from USA?

For whatever reason, the USA is sooo stuck on being prudish...not open minded to being clothing free. Many naturists are under cover or not willing to be free for fear of how we will be treated.

I applaud any country that can be open to being natural.

February 2009.....gads, it will likely be -40C here then. Not good weather for outdoor nudity!!! shocked Our friends with the hot tub will be home then.......:sneaky:

World Nude Day in the Northern Hemisphere is usually around June/July, so fret not.

I would love to have been in Australia for February, actually right now would be fine!

I would love to have a nude day here in Minn. around June or July. If the cops would leave us alone without getting arrested.

I disagree. I just think US citizens don't network as much as the rest of the world. I'm not sure why. Perhaps its demographics, culture, or the geography of our country.

There was a study in southern florida where nudists used exclusively $2 bills for a few months. The results showed just how common nudism is in regions of the US. We just go about things differently. We value personal privacy and the nature of our economy and some of the fringe elements of our society don't support an open nudist society the way other countries do.

I would love to see a world nude day celebration. The problem is that our population is so spread out that things are done differently here. We have small groups of people we associate with and celebrate within those small groups. Other countries have more centralized locations and celebrate in the traditional parade/city wide party more effectively than we do.

An interesting site. February would be too cold for us in the northern hemisphere. Now with the internet and the availability of video recording maybe we naturists should show more of our lifestyle to others. This site is more streaking than naturist. Some activities done nude by naturists would be a good balance.

Hi nakedstudent

You are right. But things are still not easy in other countries either. Take France for instence. Very open minded country, with the biggest nudist camps of the world, beaches etc... Paris, big centralised capital city . And still, wee have never seen a real nudist parade in the streets of the city of lights. Nudity is only accepted if it is practised "somewhere hidden" , far from the eyes of the textile people. Of course it is better than nothing , but still not perfect,. There is string puritanism worldwide.

From their website, thought this one was of the better by a large margin

<object width="480" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.worldnudeday.com/do/play,331.swf"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.worldnudeday.com/do/play,331.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="360"></embed></object>

The clip is actually from New Zealand not Australia. Scarfie is what University students from Otago call themselves. They have been getting naked down there for years, even organise nude rugby games. Marc Ellis, who is mentioned in the clip, is an ex "Scarfie",ex "All Black" and current presenter on a NZ TV show called "Sportscafe". He is no stranger to nudity himself.
In fact on the show a couple of years ago, they had a member of the New Zealand Nudist Federation on the show, talking about miniten....completely nude.

Cheers

Me, too. I have lost two friends by telling them I am now a nudist/naturist.

I have learned to keep my mouth shut.

Sad.

My absolute fave is "Foreskins on the Foreshore". What I noticed most was the overwhelming fun they had. I hardly even considered the nudity (as did they) although being totally free like that surely made it even more fun and invigorating. It's nice to see how animated they are and the excitement and natural fun they are having.

Oh bloody hell! I didn't even know about it until today - 1 day late! Oh well Happy Nude Day to all for yesterday. I'm nude today to make up for it, but not as brave as those in the videos, I'm staying home.
