i want to go to India in the end of Dec and would like to spend at least a couple of days on a secluded beach and trek in a forest au naturelle (probably in Kerala). But what i hear from my indian friends is that it is too crowded everywhere to take off the clothes even in nature except maybe national parks. are there indian naturists or travellers who could share their experience of naturism in India?
this is practically the only useful link in the internet and i don't know how much i can trust it:

I was a member of a Yahoo group of Indian naturists (As I had planned to travel to India.) but they mostly met in closed groups at members homes, and as couples only, there are no officially sanctioned beaches and if you're lucky enough to find a secluded spot, well done you, but beware.
India unfortunately isn't a naturist friendly country.

Here's a 2 year old report from an Indian would be nudist about nude beaches in Goa (http://www.nudist-resorts.org/talk/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=558&whichpage=4#top).
Apparently it is still possible there, but not legal.

Persons in southern India are not "up tight" about the Digambian Jain monks going around in public nude. The monks walk each day (except in the rainy season) in the nude carrying a bowl and a broom. The broom is to sweep the path as they walk so that they do not step on any living bug or animal, as they have a reverance for all life. The bowl is to receive alms (donations) of food. These donations bring merit to the giver of the alms.
The word "Digambia" - "Dig means direction or space, and ambar means clothes, such that Digambar means clothed in space' or naked". The nudeness of Digambar Jains, according to one persons, symbolises "complete emancipation from physical and social constraints". However, I supose it is a form of ascetism many religions embrace. Some say that it symbolizes a giving spirit (charity) following the Janian leader's example many years ago who took off his clothes to give them away to someone who was muich in need of them.
(The Janians in the north of India wear all white clothing, as the weather is not suitable for nudity).
There is a group of well educated Digambian Jains in St. Louis MO (e.g. husband is a college professor and wife is a medical doctor). This professor, Dr. Satish Nayak, spoke at the Ethical Society to explain his religion. He stated that he is not in the least bit embarrassed to go nude on certain religious holidays.
