Petitioners want another nudist beach in Sydney (http://www.thaindian.com/newsportal/business/petitioners-want-another-nudist-beach-in-sydney_100121080.html)

I hope everything works out for them and they get their wish.

The beach in question has long been the haunt of swingers and doggers, this has given nudists a bad reputation, as we all know nudists tend to get grouped with these people by unknowing textiles. What the nudists are proposing is the official classification of the beach and they will report unlawful behaviour to the police or deter the miscreants from themselves.

Unfortunately one councillor has it firmly fixed in her mind that all naked people are one and the same, it appears that she cannot be reasoned with, and will not accpet the overwhelming support for the official designation of this beach.

Why another beach? Well if you look at Sydney harbour and the approaches to it You will see that to get to the accepted beaches would take around 2 hours of tavelling and would mean crossing the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and a drive through the heart of the city, unless you have a boat to cross over of course!

Here is an opportunity for the local council to clear up a seedy area, aided by lawful and willing citzens, but prejudice gets in the way again.

Clover Moore backs nude bathing at Little Congwong beach (http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,24785511-5013605,00.html)

Here's an update to the story.

I wish them the best of luck in these days where Australians grow ever more so scared of seeing the body as natural, opting instead to view the body only as the tool for much sex sex sex and nothing else.

It is good that he's got Clover Moore to do this. As much as I don't like her politics, she does have some good points.

I understand this hidden beach nudist beach thing but I see this as a problem as well. When we are mature enough to have them just there, then people will have matured.

Pete, I won't even ask what 'doggers' might be - I don't think I want to know.

As to the close-minded councillor, I don't suppose she thinks that all politicians are the same, does she? Perhaps if she had experienced being lumped in with the less desirable actors of her category, she might be more tolerant of others who were thus tarnished.

I don't know if you have this option there, but it seems like it is time for a recall petition to replace her.

Don't worry, it doesn't involve animals, but a quick Google might provide the answer you're not looking for.

With Fred Nile (religious right wing NSW member of the Upper House of Parliament) on the rampage at the moment trying to stop topless bathing I think the Little Cudgewong people will have a hard battle to have the beach declared officially a nude beach. But they should keep trying.

It is interesting how the effect of right wing wowser Governments restrict or prevent declaration of nude beaches. In Queensland where there are probably more nude people than anywhere else in Australia, there are in fact NO legal nude beaches. That is probably the result of years of right wing wowser Bjelkie Peterson Government. There are however unoficial nude beaces.

OZJames, the mantra of extreme religious right is tedious. One of the loudest complainants is a Labor party poltician who claim to be tolerant of all, which in reality, is just a load of BS!

There support comes from both sides of the fence just as there are voices of dissent coming from both sides of the political fence.
