View Full Version : Naked Snow Angels

In the UK there has been rather a large ammount of snow lately (for us anyway) and during this time I went outside and created a naked snow angel. Needless to say it was very cold and the angel did have a detailed bum print lol. I was going to make a nude snowman/woman but ran out of snow in my rather small garden.

Anyway this thread is to find out if anyone else took advantage of the snow for some naked activities. I thought this would be a good day to do this post as more is supposed to come on thursday, so more activites for those who wish to try them.

Any stories? :)

Quite a few people on the BN forum have posted pictures of their foray out into their snowy gardens, I haven't because I'm a wimp.

Heck, Rebecca, you lost your chance. You could have some breast impressions by doing a frontal one. It tried this when I used to hike my trails naked in the snow. My frontal wasn't too impressive. Things kinda shrink in the cold.

I've made nude snow angles a couple of times at a couple of places. Kind of fun in powder but you need to remember to check to see if the snow has a crust. I didn't one time and ......... Not funny.

I've done this. It was great fun. You have to wonder what kind of impulse drives you to jump into the snow naked...

:snowflake::angel::snowflake:

Naked snow angels go particularly well with hot showers. ;)

Zarth, you are right, I dont know why I had the compulsion to do it but I will probablly do it again. And ralph, I dont know why but I cant see myself doing a front one. For some reason it doesn't seem as fun. Has anyone done anything else besides snow angels?

Is snow fairly rare in the uk? How long does it stay on the ground when it does snow?

Here in Minnesota we average nearly 60 inches of snow per winter. Most of it comes in feb, and march. I remember one year when we got 98 inches total for the year. The snow drifts were higher than a single story house in many places.

The weather is cyclical, every 20-25 years we get a bad winter, but that's bad by our standards, nothing like you get in Northern States or in Canada.

Even in a bad winter we would only get 3-4 inches of snow where I live, but up north they get it really bad. Our recent fall has lasted only 48hours here in Worcestershire, but they are still struggling down in Hampshire I believe.

Our recent cold spell came from Siberia, blowing in across the UK from the south east, it affected southern counties, even stretched as far as Devon, but it was by no means the worst weather we've had. We're now predicted to have Arctic snow blowing down from the north in the next few days.

The Daily Mail (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1135513/Get-buy-shovel--Rest-world-left-baffled-snow-brings-Britain-grinding-halt.html)

You'd think that being a small island, and bordered by the Atlantic, that we would get really bad weather, but we don't, and that's down to the Gulf Stream (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulf_stream) (I knew my schooling wasn't wasted!). We as a smaller island are warmed by the warm currents from your side of the Atlantic, this difference is quite noticeable if you go over to central Europe right now, you'll see that they're get quite a bit colder weather that we do, and in the summer we're noticeably cooler than they are. So whilst we don't get extremes of weather, we get the stuff in between, which is quite often rain, for which we have a reputation.

This cyclical weather also brings us blisteringly hot summers, I'll never forget 1976 in a hurry, I was a fireman that year, one of the busiest for a long, long time.

When I was a teenager, on a bet, I jumped naked off of a bridge into water that was almost frozen. I never swam so fast. I couldn't find my penis for a week! :D

Never, ever, ever.

I'm in Atlanta, GA right now. It's not snowing, but I'm already freezing my booty off. What a time to leave Florida.

We've had a ton of snow here in Kentucky but I'm not tough enough for naked snow angels. I can only make a snow angel shaped like some dude in four layers of wool, big mittens, and a parka.

Kudos to anyone that does the naked snow angel. I envy your resolve!

I have not made snow angels in ages. It tends to get well below zero celsius in this area, so I have not felt the need to do make any naked either. :o

I'm getting cold just reading about naked snow angels. I would't last 2 seconds naked in the snow.

I did it last year after getting out of our hot tub on a dare from my wife. Now I get the act of leaving a sauna and jumping into the snow. It was actually refreshing.

That's what they do in the Scandinavian countries, it apparently opens the pores, and is good for you, but I think I'll pass on that.

I came out of a sauna at a naturist swim, behind another guy, I had intended to use the plunge pool, but had to wait for this other guy. That was a mistake, the wait gave me time to think about what I was about to do, I came to my senses and got into the warm pool instead.

I might try it one day, but only the one day mind!!

At the Chicago Sweat Lodge, they have what is supposed to be an authentic Russian Schvitz. http://www.chicagosweatlodge.com/

I have more than once used the cold pool after getting really hot and rinsing off. It is surprisingly refreshing and fun.

The heat of a sauna opens the pores and a cold shower/plunge pool or a roll in the snow is important to close them again. A warm shower or pool is not at all the right follow-on. The correct procedure is excellent for the circulation. You should then lie down (naked is fine, or cover with a towel depending on ambient temperature) for several minutes to relax.

Hey Rebecca, I would love to make a naked snow angel. I think it would be very refreshing and a better waker-upper than coffee or tea. I would have to get back in where it is warm very quickly and probably a soak in the hot tub. If I did one face down, I would not even leave a dimple due to the cold induced shrinkage!

yeah I suppose that is one reason why guys dont like the snow. i wouldnt do one just because I think for some reason that I wiould feel the cold more.

The last few snows here in eastern Pennsylvania were followed up by freezing rain, leaving a hard, icy crust on the snow. Trying a snow angel in that would likely result in some cuts and bruises, not to mention the possibility of sliding into the neighbor's yard!

I'm a member of the naked snow angel club :) Of course in Nova Scotia during the winter, you do get quite a few opportunities. Just have to pick the right day!

Oh yes I have done a few naked snow angels. I did even more nude snow shoveling we are near to breaking the records for snowfall this year. I have even done some nude sunbathing as long asthe sun is up and there is no wind. I still have a foot of snow on the ground and we go another light dusting last night. If you are physically active like shoveling snow you can stay surprisingly warm.

No quite snow angels, but when I lived in Canada, I used to jump out of the hot tub and roll in the snow drifts. Best done in the first part of the winter after a big snowfall when the snow is soft. As somebody else already said, when there is a crust on the snow, or deeper down in the drift - not fun. Since moving to New Zealand, I haven't had the opportunity - no snow here where I live.

Visited our daughter where there was more snow than we had. A neighbour's girls had made a snow princess, but not nude. It lasted over a week before it melted.

For nude sculptures I always remember full-size male and female sunbathers made from sand on the beach. Definitely nude, but only till the next tide.

Snow is actually quite rough on the skin. To me it feels like what crushed glass might feel like.

No more nude angels for me...

Maybe you need to come out here where the snow is lighter and fluffier.....and whiter, that TO snow. :) Of course, it is often MUCH colder here in northern BC.

Depends on the type of snow fresh powder is like baby powder. Soft wet fluffy snow is great like a feather bed. However old snow which has melted ad frozen again is like crushed glass, choose your snow carefully.

I suppose ice sculptures and intricate snowmen are alot tougher to make than snow angels and is more of an art form rather than childish :).

It snowed quite a bit over here last night and I thought about doing the naked snow angel thing but I don't necessarily have the most private yard. Since other kids are out of school today it would have been a little bit dangerous.

We got 5 inches here in East Alabama yesterday, but I didn't get a chance to get out naked and do a snow angel. Did build a snowman though. If I'd had the opp. I would have done the nude angel thing but now that I'm alone today the snows melting away. Maybe a chance will come NEXT year.I'm ready for the spring.
