"Judy, you realize we live in a nudist resort, don't you?" she said, dropping the bombshell.

Interesting story. Obviously written from a textile point of view, but shows an open mind and considerate friends. I'm not sure of the point of it though, there was no preamble and only a very brief closing sentence. Seems like it would normally just be a "letter to the editor" style of article more than a journalistic investigation. Still it's nice to see a positive article at all about naturism. Nice find.

I also agree that this is a very interesting story. This would be quite a dilemma for non-nudists who were visiting their friends who embraced the nudist lifestyle. How would you react to seeing a deluge of nude people focusing on normal conversation at the same time? Another interesting point would be the children of nudists. As mentioned in the story, I wonder if the non-nudist children would have a heyday at teasing their nudist classmates both at school and at the bus stop in front of their home. Maybe I am wrong, but it seems like there are quite a few issues involved. But I would safely assume that the diehard nudists would not let it bother them.

Living in a c/o community would be a dream for most of us. It would also be a deterrent for distant and unheard from relatives from visiting.

That would be another great thing about living at such a resort.

I can tell by the description of the place that it was Cypress Cove in Florida. Cypress cove would be a good place to start into the nudist life if you have never been to a nudist resort before. Except for the pool area you see people in all stages of dress or undress as it were. Cypress Cove seems to have a kind of layed back attitude and the people who live there were very nice.

I was happy to see the story wasn't filled with the usual "puns" and "tongue in cheek" comments that most people can't seem to keep out of print.

The writer seemed respectful of the life her friends had chosen.

The place must be Cypress Cove; the brick wall, Cheeks, etc. Been there many times. I agree the people are VERY nice, both the daily guests as well as the residents. You can normally tell the residents from the guests.. they are usually the ones with the deep all over tans.

Although being clothed in all areas except the pools is accepted, it seems clear that this is a NUDIST resort. Why go if you aren't going to nude? I feel the expectation is that everyone will be nude. I have seen eyebrows raised at those who stay completely dressed, not that it is a bad thing, but.. what's the point! There are so many places to visit in Orlando which are textile, it seems those who view nudity as "what other people do", it seems hardly worth it.

This case is different. Visiting old friends and walking around a nudist resort completely clothed is the exception.
