I'm having a small social with around 8 friends coming over. They are naturists like myself altho' one couple are new to all of us. Should I request they bring towels to sit on? My gf suggests it but i'm apprehensive. Do not want to insult. This is our first gathering so I am not sure of protocol.

Unless they are extremely new they will know that a towel is required. In case they show up without their own why not just be prepared and have towels available for them?

My wife and I have had friends visit who are also naturists. When a friend of mine would come by, after we had been out for a free hike, he would shower, as would I, and we'd have towels put out for him to sit on. He would just grab a towel and sit on it as naturists are supposed to. When we'd go out on the deck, he'd just pick up his towel and take it along. if you have enough towels, I'd suggest putting a pile out, in the area, that they could use.

Years ago, I found two beautiful wooden boxes that were handpainted with beautiful grapevines on them and since I love a Tuscan decor anyway, these were perfectly sized to fit towels in them. I keep one on the back patio for friends to use and one in the greatroom for them to use. When they would leave I had a beautiful tuscan painted hamper at the end of the greatroom out to the kitchen area for them to drop their towels in.
I also buy towels during sales like white sales, etc., and do not pay much money for them so I have them only for the purpose of friends to sit on. Always have clean, fresh towels available 24/7 for friends.

We always sit on towels at home. When we have naturist friends stay with us, there are towels for pool/spa and furniture sitting on their bed in the guest room. We've known these people for years and years and they still sit on towels in our home or other naturist friends homes. It's just part of the lifestyle.
As others have already said, if they show up without towels, offer them a clean towel to use while they visit. It's not insulting, it's not rude, it's just part of the lifestyle.
By the way...have a fun get together with your friends. Those are always lots of fun when we have them.

I suggest you use darker colored towels. Just in case the reason they should be used to sit on becomes apparent.

Over time secretions are likely to have a worse effect on upholstery than the occasional evidence of excretion. Sweat and skin oils as example. That's why, you and your guests,
should use the shower instead of your bidet. Bidets make nice planters, get a stool for
the shower.:)
