View Full Version : What non-naturist forums do you participate in?
I was just wondering what mainstream online forums we are active in -- sports? gardening? parenting? politics? social issues? Do you sometimes champion naturist themes or values in non-naturist forums? Are you a "public" naturist on these forums?
The web offers a great opportunity to get the naturist message out in the context of specific interests and activities. And the semi-anonymous nature of the web removes some of the job and other concerns that sometimes cause naturists to be "discreet" in "real life."
Has being openly naturist online helped you develop ways to explain your interest in natursim that translates into more offline openness? Should we be more proactive about participating as naturists in non-naturists forums, instead of just talking amongst ourselves? Should every naturist commit to participate in at least one mainstream forum as a naturist?

I participate in several international naturist forums because I want to indulge my dual interests of travel and naturism. As a result of meeting people online I've traveled and met many naturists, and all without any incident or regret.
I'm a member of a non-naturist forum where I successfully got a naturist thread established, it brought the usual "Oh I couldn't do that" and also generated quite a few interested people, I even managed to partially convert one guy, but I'm not sure if he went as far as social nudism.
I haven't visited the site foe a while, and I've even forgotten the name of it, it's not in my bookmarks either.

www.nitcentral.com
It's a website that was started over 10 years ago by a sci-fi geek who wrote a series of books called "The Nitpickers guide to....." he did ones for Star Trek series and the X-Files. Basically it was geeks finding and discussing mistakes in our favorite TV series and movies. It's since grown into it's own community where members discuss all kinds of things including religion, politics and lifestyles.
I did start a topic about nudism there, even linked to this site but the moderators removed my link because they didn't figure that Phil (the owner of the site would want a link to a site that shows penises and bare boobs, even non-sexual.) In fact Phil is an evangelical Christian and probably would have a problem.

I participate in forums that are linked to naturism for research and in order to apply the yoga (and naturist) ideal of "coming together" and "respect for all". Homosexual, swinging, yoga, womans group (feminist). Apart from yoga I am not a participant but my presence and opinions are always respected. I am of the conclusion that mostly we have more similarities than differences and we should work together to strengthen our similarities and remove unneeded obstacles. Not listening to other people viewpoints is total disrespect for other peoples right to think.

Forums about writing, movies, politics, or about certain countries.
Naturism rarely appears in those forums, but if it does, I do voice my support.
