View Full Version : New neighbors. Should we move?

Well it happened. New neighbors moved in and we had to put a stop to our back yard Nudist Lifestyle. It was 5 years of bliss but now it would come to an end. The neighbors house has been empty for all of that time and it is the one area of our back yard that the view isn't blocked 100%. We have a 8 foot fence but they have a 2 story home with an upper deck and it's very close to our lot line. They have waved to us a couple of times from their deck when we were in our pool (we had our bathing suits on) After a week we thought we should go over and introduce ourselves. They were a nice young couple with 4 kids. The wife was a 3 grade school teacher and he a minster. We wanted to tell them we were nudist and to ask if they would mind if we enjoyed the lifestyle in our back yard. We chickened out once we heard MINSTER and TEACHER. We talked on and off with them over the summer and then one day they invited us over for a pool party. They had a lot of them over the summer. He, the husband, the MINSTER, said, NO BATHING SUITS ALLOWED! I dropped my beer and my wife and I said PARDON ME! at the same time even though we both heard what he said. His wife asked. You are nudists are you not? We said yes but how did they know? They said they saw the Naturists sticker on our car window (one of our kids had just stuck it on the rear window) Turns out, they were nudists and raised their kids the same way. All those pool party's they had. They were nudist get togethers and many were from their church. Well we told them because of them, we had a back yard nudeless summer and they told everyone at the party. We were told you could hear the laughter for blocks.

That's a great story. There are actually quite a few ministers who enjoy skinnydipping, but most church traditions wouldn't accept it.

Mark, what do you mean? Is the post from a troll? Or, are you warning the poster that the "minister" and "teacher" are posing a trap? I agree the post (the poster's first) seems far-fetched, but maybe my radar is off today...

LOL, just a joke...
As if the minister and his wife were setting them up for some sort of nude public humiliation ... like being naked in front of the congregation at a backyard church picnic ...
I hope my faux paranoia didn't incite any real paranoia!

LoL the picture scared me ugly creature but you do have a point "Mark" its left to see what happened's as the days months years goes by and, if they weren't in the Nudist Lifestyle I will tell them but I will not move that's your house your land your property, you have 8 foot fence you not on their property just keep your eyes ear's open at all time, if you can afford it I would build a fence add on tarp or something to block the side where they go look and wave at you when in the swimming pool, you can have anyone have you feeling uncomfortable in your own home take one day at a time and keep watch to,find some way to block off that area am not one to judge anyone but I rather have peace of mind.

I can't say if it is a trap (haha at the pic) or not, but that didn't seem right for them to bring it up at the party like they did. I would test the waters and continue to be nude in the backyard and see what happens.

I think it was actually a pretty good way to bring it up. It was brought up with humor that could have been laughed off if it hit a sensitive nerve. Not everyone who enjoys nude recreation at home, or even among strangers, wants it to be in the open even among discrete and friendly neighbors. The "rev's" comment could have been laughed off as a joke or mistaken impression with no harm done, but it served its purpose to broach the subject and let them know it was not a problem.
Too bad it didn't happen 6 months earlier.

I am staying in a complex and the houses are very close together. I've upgraded the walls to be at least 2.1 meters high but all the houses are double stories. For more that a year I didn't have neighbours and started gardening and mowing the lawn naked. After a while I didn't even bother to have cloths nearby and did everything in and around the house completely naked. Even talking to the other closeby neighbour while naked.
A few weeks ago two young ladys moved into the empty house. As I was mowing the lawn I saw them openly standing and looking at me through their window (they were busy putting up curtains). I just continued as if nothing is wrong.
My question now is: should I continue being naked outside or should I rather cover-up. Or will it be better to go over and talk to them about me being naked at home?
p.s. Here is South Africa nudity is not very much accepted and I strugle to get people's feeling about it. Any ideas??

Since you know the ladies saw you already, it might not be a bad idea to ask if they are indeed, accepting of your nudity. You know they already saw you, but do they approve of your nudity everytime you are outside? Who knows, maybe you might have some fellow nudists just waiting to be asked for an invitation. Let us know what you decide.:smoking:

EZ-nude:- I'd see that as a green light to return to nude backyard activities. Ignore the laughter and do what you've been doing previously. Maybe return the favour and invite them for a nude BBQ.
ClothesfreeDude:- Well you know they have seen you nude, in your backyard. Have you been made aware of any complaints? What was their reaction when they saw you had seen them watching you?
They are putting up curtains are they not? That would suggest to me that they aren't too offended, but want to be able to avoid seeing you if they have guests or whatever. Or perhaps they want to be able to be nude themselves without prying eyes from other neighbours.
I'd go over there and ask them.

Most people, when religion is attached to anything, immediately think "prude". Fortunately, this is not always so. Many religious types adopt, what I think is the correct view, that the body was created by God and therefore is something to be proud of instead of ashamed of.

We are getting new neighbors but I do not plan to move. A little extra care at first until I have an idea of their tolerance level.

That's a good story. It never occurred to me that it might be phoney, or that the minister might be setting them up. What a cruel thing that would be, but I would not put it past some ministers I have known.
My reaction was, "Wow! I'd like to have a pastor like that."
My wife and I have a pool with a privacy fence. One neighbor, who we haven't officially met (his property backs up to ours) built a tree house for his kids. She told him that we swam in our pool nude. We have a fence, but with his tree house, he would just have to deal with it. We weren't going to start wearing suits. He just said, "Okay. I'll tell my kids." That's been a couple of years. I've never seen anyone use the tree house.

I was JOKING! I really really really doubt that the pastor next door is setting them up.

Wow, what luck. What are the chances? I was going to say... if they weren't nudists, don't move, but build a 30 foot tall wall instead, but I know that in most parts of modern America, code laws would prevent such basic freedoms (of building a wall, that is).
