Are there any nude boaters? I will be in Southern California in early June and would enjoy the opportunity to go out on a nude boat cruise.
On previous visits I have enjoyed the nude beaches and Deep Creek Hot Springs, but this time I would like to try a nude boat cruise. Anyone want an extra hand on deck?

As a nudist I am sensitive to others who may be nude and I have seen nude boaters (rarely) on the Great Lakes. I also canoe nude in Northern Ontario.

For 4 1/2 years while we lived in Singapore from 1990 to 1994, I sailed nude on a Laser. Soon as I got about 100 meters offshore, off came my tiny monokini. I clipped it to the halyard. About 100 meters from shore, I'd unclip it and put it back on. If I capsized, I always had to swim around and unclip my suit and slide it on because invariably someone would show up to see if I needed help. Where were they watching from?

I've seen quite a few on Lake Erie - we have an area where it was once fairly common for nude boaters to anchor and sun worship, and occasionally lash up - near a stretch of isolated beach were nude hiking was possible. Nude use has dropped off a bit in recent years, but it is still pretty common when out sight of shore.

RalphVA, could you explain or show us what you mean by a monokini? Is it like a speedo? Thanks.

I had to respond to this one, I am a nude boater. We are too far away from california to pick ya up though, ha ha ha. I can't wait for memorial weekend. We are going boating and sleeping on our boat. I love my boat. It has a full bed down below and a fridge for the cold beer and hotdogs. Nude, the whole weekend.Hope everyone has a great memorial weekend.

Oh yeah! I live aboard so I'm nude boating all the time. When we get out, we sail nude if the weather is warm enough which is about 9 months out of the year here in the Keys.

I'm a nudist and I love boating but I haven't had the opportunity to combine the two. I look forward to the day when I can do both.

Enjoy nude boating the few times I have been able to do it. Only been able to do it with just the wife and I. She doesn't really join in most of the time, but will go topless for part of the time and during the sunblock application she allows me to remove her bikini pieces. I usually just leave them off, but she usually will put them back on. Was hoping to get some nude time in this weekend, but will have others with us if we do go boating, so that will prevent me from enjoying nude boating this weekend.

We live on Lake Palestine in East Texas. The 4 of us (2 people and 2 pups) go naked boating all the time. We keep beach towels in case a boat gets too close. Last summer, didn't notice that a boat full of folks was closing in, didn't get to the beach towels, the people in the other boat just smiled and waved.
We have a couple of spots that we beach the boat and go skinny dipping. About the only thing we have to worry about is the occasional fisherman.

Being nude is what really got me into kayaking. The chance to be nude out on the ocean, along the coastline, with no one knowing I was really nude and getting a great tan while paddling down the coast. Then I started enjoying the nude trips down local creeks and rivers.I almost hate the times I have to paddle my kayaks wearing clothes now. nudeinbama

I enjoy boating in the buff too. The best is finding a secluded cove to anchor where you can swim, read, enjoy a couple adult beverages and just hang out.

I'm several payments away from paying off my truck. Once that's done....we will be shopping for our first boat. Since we are nudists...we will be doing lots of nude boating. We've done lots of nude boating in the past but they've all been on rental boats.
We own Seadoos but...I don't really consider PWC's boats. We have done lots of nude PWC riding. The best time is in the early morning in the summer on Lake Mojave. The water is still and flat as glass.....best time to ski too!

I just had to comment that today's photo is great.

We visited Club Orient a few years ago and I rented a single sea kayak just about every day. I wish I could have talked my wife into going with me on a double sea kayak, but she preferred to just hang out on the beach.

I have a Catalina 27 in San Diego and whenever I'm out in the bay or off the coast and weather permitting, it's on... or should I say "OFF". I keep a towel handy for the tourist boats but other than that I have no problem sailing in the buff. I've had the boat for 4 years now, was renting for about 10 before that and so far no complaints. I've even been in a few "only one naked" situations with a group of friends. Sometimes they join me, sometimes they don't. In my opinion nothing feels better than to be out in the sun on a beach or on a boat getting a charge from the fresh salt air and feeling the sun on your entire body.
I called the San Diego Harbor Police to find out their legal stance on the situation and they said technically the "city" and "city ordinances" apply to 3 miles offshore. But they went on to say unless they get a call about lewd behavior they have way too many other things on their plate to worry about somebody sailing around naked. They were very cool about it and said if I really wanted to be safe go out about a mile off the breakwater and "have at it"... I usually don't make it that far. Most of the time it's "lines off, clothes off..."

Did it this past weekend and will be doing it again this weekend. I usually go out to a cove then get naked but this past weekend I actually drove the boat some naked. That was a nice feeling. Hated putting clothes back on.

"Hated putting clothes back on..."
I'm with you Cruiser, that's always the worst feeling for me... Putting the clothes back on. After having reaches a comfort level with nothing on at all, it's always the most depressing and UNCOMFORTABLE time...

I've had a sail boat in a marina for over 10 years. I've gotten more comfortable sailing naked closer to the marina, I used to wait until I got past the breakwall. One day after sailing with a friend & celebrating he got a job (tequilla shots involved), we were skinny dipping off the boat, then sailed back into the marina naked (mistake!). The marina police got the local police involved, fortunately, we sobered up enough before the police arrived. The police were pretty cool, gave us a stern lecture about publice nudity and what they could charge us with, then told us to be safe be 3 miles out before sailing naked.

3 miles? What? Are you supposed to be sure not to offend Superman?
My own rule is you have to be far enough away that they can't be sure if you are naked to the unaided eye (this is easy to gauge because you can just look at them to see if the distance is sufficient). That's maybe 1/4 mile, at the most. People using binoculars are looking for trouble ... they don't count.

A person has to be very careful on Lake Ontario. There really is a heirarchy to boating. Rowboats and rafts (lol) are closest to shore followed by fishing boats and then cabin cruisers. The super fast 'cigar' boats are further out and those maniacs zoom back and forth at what looks like top speed. It would be easy to be hit by a cigar boat and killed! I am very surprised that it hasn't happened yet. I go swimming in Lake Ontario and do have to be very careful as to where I swim as I tend to go a fair distance from shore and do look like a mere speck in the water. It woulld be very easy for a boat to run over and kill a swimmer.
On the West Coast, on of my friends is a very avid ocean swimmer. She was swimming off the coast of More Mesa beach when some fishermen spotted her and tried to catch her with a net. Ever since then she has remained much closer to shore and is much more cautious.
