Did anyone see this programme the other day (Virgin 1 in the UK).

Basically, the show involved a marketing company that was under achieving and the MD called in a trouble shooter to find a way of getting his staff back on track and performing again to get business moving again. The trouble shooter came in on the Monday and asked them to put a tent up, which took them about 20 minutes. He then said that, on the Friday of that week, everyone would have to go to work completely naked. The rest of the programme then showed them having various meetings and discussions and how they felt about the whole thing, which there was obviously a lot of nervousness about.

On the Friday, the trouble shooter was then tryinbg to guess how many of the 7 or so strong workforce would go along with the agreement. In the end, all but 2 of them took the plunge and worked the whole day completely naked. The following Monday, they then had to repeat the task of putting the tent up, which they completed in half the time. The basic experiment was to see if being naked around each other gave them more trust in each other, which it did, and it also increased their business and profits, which was shown by a return visit some months later.

The experiment wasn't to promote naturism, indeed it didn't even mention it, but to build up trust among fellow colleagues, which it certainly achieved

That sounds like an interesting company. I don't think any US company would try that, out of fear of lawsuits. But if it were possible, I'd definitely want to work for a business like that.

I'm pretty sure it was a one off though. All but one of the people bared all, the one person being a lady who was the partner of the MD. I thought it was unfair of her, seeing as the others enterd into the spirit of things, and the young secretary/receptionist said she felt like staying like it at work for good

I find it a bit hard to take this seriously as a real social experiment simply because it was designed to be a TV presentation.

One wonders if the two holdouts would have gone completely nude if they knew they wouldn't be shown on national TV?

Yeah, this is true and I think they would have. I guess it was an audience puller as much as anything
