This is a very nice photo. I just wish I could have attended one of the Guiness World Book of Records skinnydipping events or possibly that one in the photo. I am sure it was well attended and fun was had by all.

Looking at the picture, I see 3 attractive people obviously having a great time with many nude friends. I wish I was there with them in that picture. Then there would be 4 smoothie people.

Are we talking today July 21.? I think it's nice too.

Huh ???

Someone has to say it, so I will:

This is another remark that contradicts and nullifies the constant credo that nudists don't judge, criticize, or care what you look like. I'll bet you wouldn't comment negatively on someone's fat belly, surgical scar, or big nose. So why, then, is someone's pubic hair (or lack thereof) fair game?

Frankly, David, I'm surprised at you.

I second that comment. I would rather be there enjoying the sun and company of so many other nudists.;)

Really?

Isn't the insistence that smooth is nicer than natural also prejudicial? Isn't that just as counter to the so called "nudist credo"?

--------------------------

Even nudists should be allowed to have opinions. You can like the smooth look, or prefer natural. You can like red hair, or prefer blondes. You don't have to find a person attractive in order to like or accept them.

Now ... GET OFF MAH LAWN! darn kids ...

i too wish i could've enjoyed the skinnydipping day...perhaps sometime in the not-so-distant future i can actually start partaking in nude recreation

and yeah what's with comments like "unfortunately their pubic hair is missing"?

sometimes i'm shaved, sometimes trimmed, rarely full grown...but it's all a matter of personal comfort...i don't care about what level of growth someone's hair (pubic or otherwise) is in

/i'm fat...and very comfortable in my skin...who cares

I did enjoy our skinny-dipping contribution to the World Record setting event with 317+ other people, and the funny thing about that is there were SO MANY people it would be impossible to greet and introduce yourself to them all.

It was a good time and I do not believe anyone was paying attention to individual, personal gromming habits. Personally, some piercings catch my eye before the presence or lack of hair.

Was it airbrushed?

Was it airbrushed?

When I was young 60 or more years ago, artists did not paint pubic hair on a woman as it was considered rather pornographic to do so.

My very old art teacher, now age 100 but very capable, still holds to this old perception and will not paint pubic hair on nude women.

Fine art photographers did indeed airbrushed out the pubic hair of nude women. However, back then on the rare occasions when I could get a nudist magazine, the pubic hair was not airbrushed out, but was left natural in all it's natural beauty, as can be verified by the vintage photos on this forum.

Then came the "days of liberation" or at least the hippy era, and everyone felt free to show the pubic hair. The only ones I know of at that time who did some triming, were women who would have hair sticking out the bottom of their swim suit, so they trimed the excess off the sides so that they would look "decent".

Then came more comtemporary times when some men and women starting to shave off all their pubic hair, claiming that it was "more comfortable". Where is the discomfort of having pubic hair? My pubic hair was never discomfortable. The only time I ever heard of discomfort with pubic hair is when a school mate got a pubic hair caught in his zipper. Most pants back then when I was a child had buttons, but zippers were invented at that time, and maybe the boy was not totally familiar as to how to proceed.

I do not consider shaving of pubic hair as one of the "seven deadly" sins or any sin at all, but I much prefer pubic hair. Do you mind?

I consider shaving off all pubic hair as an escalating fashion trend brought about by a desire to show off the genitals more clearly. I don't buy the "more comfortable" theory. However, I "love" you all regardless of whether or not you have pubic hair.

i can't speak for anyone but myself, but for me it is indeed a matter of comfort. i used to just let it all grow and it was fine, EXCEPT...
i'm what is known to some as "a grower", meaning that when i'm flaccid very little length is showing...sometimes no length is showing...and while i'm circumsized, i do have a roll of skin that partly covers...and hair would get rolled up in there and be extremely uncomfortable

now, i'm so used to trimming or shaving that i can't even let it get near that length. i get hot very easy, so the less cover i have the better.

David, we all know your preference for pubic hair, because you've stated it enough on these pages. No one minds, and you are entitled to your preferences and opinions. For the sake of discussion, I'm just playing the Devil's Advocate by saying that your comment about the picture was, in my opinion, out of place.

Sure, we see, we form opinions, and we have preferences. But I'm saying, if it's inappropriate for us to comment negatively on a textile's physical appearance, then it is equally inappropriate to comment on a nudist's appearance. Maybe more so, because nudists profess to be accepting and nonjudgmental.

I seriously doubt that you would have criticized the women's breasts as being too big or too small. I seriously doubt that you'd walk up to a naked lady and compliment her on her "bush" shocked -- or criticize her for not having one. Regardless of what we privately find aesthetic, there are social boundaries which people of good breeding try to adhere to.

I was merely pointing out that your comment on these pages weakens the notion that nudists don't notice or care. You obviously care very much. And, that's OK. You're human. But, why blurt it out?

By the way, I'm not picking on you. I took the same position when a male commented that another shaved male looked like a "plucked chicken!"

Sure, no male prefers looking like he has little or no penis because it is hidden in a jungle of bush. Trim it back and he feels better about it.

I personally don't think that it is necessary for a female to shave off her pubic hair to show what she's got. We may eventually see, or we may not see, but we know that she is a woman, and that is all that is necessary for me.

Frankly, I don't much give a darn if anyone shaves off their pubic hair, - except I would have been certainly upset if my (late) wife would have shaved off her gorgeous flaming red pubic hair.

The quoted statement from Betterman (above) gives further credence to my point that persons shave their pubic hair so that their genitals can be seen more clearly.

Again, I much prefer the natural pubic hair. But it is like - some prefer coffee to tea, but the persons who like tea do not have to "hate" nor "fight" with a person who likes coffee.
Pubic peace, please!

LOL David

I am another who prefers the natural look but do not care if others enjoy the smooth look. It is all about what you like and are comfortable with.

Hollywood Squares:

Peter Marshall: It is considered in bad taste to discuss two subjects at nudist camps. One is politics. What is the other?

Paul Lynde: Tape measures! :p

Peter Marshall: What are two things you should never do at a nudist camp?

Paul Lynde: Point and Laugh!

Again, I'll play the Devil's Advocate. You've missed the point of Betterman's post. He wasn't talking about shaving to enhance the appearance of "little Betterman."

He said he shaved for comfort, and he explained why. The fact that the "little guy" sometimes hides like a frightened turtle is incidental to the discomfort it causes by pulling on the "short and curlies."

(I can relate!)

I agree with David. I like it when men and women look like men and women. That means, I like body hair.

However, I believe to each their own. I don't think David is attempting to tell others they should keep their pubic hair. I agree with him though that they should feel free to keep it if they want.

I think a man would have to have an extremely small penis for the amount of pubic hair to make a difference in how long a penis appears to be.
