I've heard most cruise ships allow topless, and some offer nude, sunbathing on the top deck of their cruise ships. I can't find any mention of this on their websites. Does anyone know which ships offer nude sunbathing, not including the ones Bare Necessities charters? I want to take a cruise soon and would like to choose one that supports those who like to be nude.

Most newer, and many older, Carnival ships have a "European" sunbathing deck where ladies may be topfree. They are usually the uppermost deck near the funnel stack of the ship, with a single stairway providing access, and signage indicating their special purpose.

Since the only times we have been aboard Carnival ships in the past 15 years have been on Bare Necessities nude cruises, we have not been on a sailing where the topfree deck was needed. :)

Your information is not correct. Most cruise lines do NOT provide for topless sunbathing, and none allow nudity (except on ships chartered for the purpose of nude cruises). I believe it's accurately stated above that many, perhaps all, Carnival ships have a place for topless sunbathing.

Your travel agent will know the answer to this question.

Not all Carnival ships offer a sun deck any more. We were told they were being phased out to provide more room for mini-golf and such. There was one on the Sensation in '07, but not on the Miracle in '08. The sign on the Sensation said something about top-free sunning, but no mention of full nudity.

Just jumped to Carnival's website- the Sensation Sun Deck is now a mini-golf course. Another one bites the dust!

Wow! That’s nice! It’s best especially on a Caribbean cruise ship. I hope to experience this kind of grand vacation one of these days.

You are correct. Some Carnival cruise ships offer topfree areas but most do not. It is important to always contact Carnival and ask if the ship that a person wishes to sail on offers a topfree sunbathing area.

Once on board, if enough people request a topfree area, then a small area that is isoalted from other areas might be provided.

We were on a P&O ship, the Oceana in 2006 and I did see one woman topless by the main pool area. She was there more than once so I suppose P&O don't mind. The cruise was from the UK to the Canary Islands if that makes any difference.

Dig around in your area and find a travel agent that specializes in nude vacations. There are more than just bare necessities.

Check out http://www.exotictravelservices.com/

You might have to weed thru the alternate vacations that are geared to swingers.
