Hi All

just looking for a little advice

im thinking of cutting down on the pubic hair and i was wondering what way to go? Ive quite an amount of hair just above my penis and it kinda gets in the way due to its length.I have trimmed it a few times but have not been happy with the results, it looks ok but the hair was so sharp due to its length, about half an inch, that i spent the day in work scratching and trying to keep the little fella away from my pubic hair, which was not easy.

i would like to try shaving but i have quite a hairy tummy and hairy legs, and dont ant to shave all over......i also dont want to have a large bald patch around my pubic area, basically saying "LOOK AT ME"......plus i always imagined the regrowth would be very annoying

any advice on what i could do would be gratefully accepted

thanks

Go ahead and shave. If it looks funny with the hairy belly, shave that too. It's only hair. If you don't like the look or feel, it will grow back.

I only remember having an issue with itching the first time I shaved. Even after letting it grow back for several years, it didn't itch the next time I shaved.

What I did is trim the whole area, then shave just above the base (and anywhere else you would like)! This is what I did and love it, the itching will not last even as it grows back in. I keep everything shaved and trimmed with no problems.

You really can't make a mistake; if you don't like the looks of it. It will grow back

Shaving was kind of addictive for me.

I started shaving my underarms because I had developed something like a rash or irritation there and I eventually deduced that it was from my deodorant. I wanted to use less deodorant and so I shaved the hair under my arms to allow it skin contact, instead of what felt like putting it on the hair.

Later, I noticed a similar irritation on my inner thigh. It was due to rubbing from gaining weight, but for whatever reason I decided to shave there too. Later, for some reason I don't recall, I shaved my scrotum. I found that once shaved, the skin of my scrotum was quite soft and I liked it. During "marital play", my wife also liked it. That provided the impetus to shave all my pubic hair, but as you mentioned, it basically seemed like I was trying to highlight my penis. I then proceeded to shave everything off.

As mentioned above, it was itchy the first time, but after that, it was fine. I can even have it grow in a bit and hardly even feel it. My only issue now with shaving is having to do it so frequently. I wish I could just do it once a month or something, but I am not brave enough to try waxing. I am not big on pain.

i totally feel you on the frequency of shaving.....i have a stubble shadow on my face after 6 hours, so i dread to think what my pubic area would be like

waxing ive found ok.....i have a small patch of hair on my lower back waxed every couple of months, its unomfortable but not sore. but its also my back and not the pubic area, dont know what the difference in pain would be

i think ill just go for it though, this friday, so if it DOES go itchy ill be at home and not in the office

ill leave an update on monday if im still sane from the scratching lol

I too am very hairy and have shave my pubic area completly as well as trimed it. Of the two I prefer to trim. It really didn't look as bad as you may think, especially if you trim the area around your groin so that it sort of looks blended, but I found that this is way, too much work! I shave my head evey day, and I get stubble after 6 hours, it was the same with my pubic region. I did not want to add another phase to my daily shaving ritual so I have decided it would be best if I just kept the area trimed short, that way I can just do it weekly. I understand what you are saying about the hair being sharp mine was too the first few times, but it has "adjusted" over time. I keep my pubic hair trimed with a trimmer and I use the 1/4" guard I find I like this the best. Just like anything new, it takes a little time for your body to adjust to new sensations, but give yourself some time and you will adjust and soon it will be the norm and you will not have any bother.
