Recently I have had to urinate a whole lot more than usual. I am not feeling ill or suffering any pain or discomfort and I do not drink alcahol and have not been unusually thirsty or drinking liquids more than usual. I am not taking any new medication that could cause frequent urination so I do not know what is causing the problem. I am not yet 35 years old until next month. You hear about older men having such problems but not so much younger men. I am not sure how worried I should be and if I need to see a dsoctor. It is inconvenient because when I am out of the house very long I have to be looking for a public bathroom and am frequently having to get up somtimes several times a night in the middle of the night to urinate. A couple of years ago I was on a medication that caused frequent urination but not anymore for a long time.

Here is a list of causes of frequent urination in men.

I do not know if it is an absolute fact, but I have heard that if you are loosing weight (dieting) that you loose more fluid by urinatiion.

I am not dieting or losing weight. about the other suggestions in the article I am not taking any medicatios that would cause urination. as fae as diabetes I had a variety of blood tests just a few months ago. They were not specificly for diabetes but I would think they would have caught a problem but I do not know that for sure. Doesn't diabetes also cause the need to drink more liquids. That is what I thought but don't know that for sure. As far as a prostate problem I guess it's possible but not usually your first thought before your 35th birthday. As to the other possibilities in the article I don't know.

Like the exam Stu may have been recomended, you may have to have a urologist insert a medical instrument up your penis to take a look around at you bladder, prostate, etc. Take it from me, there is hardly any pain to the procedure.
Yes, I too have heard that uncontrolled diabetics feel a need to drink water often, but I do not know how accurate that is.

Depending on which blood tests you had it is possible that they might not have done a test for diabetes. And if they did things change over time. Frequent urination is not a normal thing unless you've been drinking a lot of water or taking increased amounts of caffeine. It would be prudent to make an appointment with your doctor who can check you out and run appropriate tests if needed.

I avoid all caffeine except for an occasional hot choclate or other choclate candy bar or other things with choclate and that isnt very often.

Yes you need to go to the doctors. Expect to give a urine sample and a fasting blood test. Good luck and here's to it being something simple.

Get to a doctor - IMMEDIATELY. When these things do hit younger men, it especially requires immediate attention.

I sympathize, some days I have to go every 15 to 20 minutes. But that is because I take diuretics every day.
Which I have to take in order to lower my blood pressure, which otherwise is elevated because of retaining water - which is a side affect of the large dose of prescription NSAIDs I take every day.
Which I take as an anti-inflammatory for my knee, which otherwise I wouldn't be able to walk on because of a torn meniscus.
Which needs surgery, but my insurance company wants to wait. Probably because I had a couple hundred thousand dollars of claims two years ago after an accident. They need to collect some more premiums before it gets fixed - or they can find a way to dump me.
But thank God we don't have ObamaCare where health care would be rationed!

Let me see if I have this straight. You need knee surgery. However, you can't have knee surgery because your insurance company—which is contractually obligated to provide you the care you need—doesn't want to pay. At least not right now.
And you think health care isn't already rationed? Your access is rationed by an insurance company that doesn't want your need for knee repair to interfere with its desire to make a profit, because making a profit for shareholders is what justifies the millions of dollars that are paid to the company's major executives.

I agree. Don't wait around. Find out what's going on. Hopefully there's some simple, non-threatening explanation...but don't take that for granted until you've been seen by your doctor.

Normally "frequent urination" is a big red flag for diabetes. Only a doctor can say for sure so please get checked out.
