I am circumcised, but my wife and I decided not to have it done to our son. He is 6 now and his foreskin still does not retract. Given that I haven't got one myself, I don't know of this is normal or not.
At what age should it be able to retract?

Thats normal.
Here's what the American Academy of Pediatrics says..........
Our son is not circumcised. When will his foreskin retract?
In the first several years your son's foreskin will separate from the tip of the penis. Some foreskins separate soon after birth or even before birth, but this is rare. When it happens is different for every child. It may take a few weeks, months, or years. Once this happens, the foreskin can be pulled back away from the tip of the penis. This is called foreskin retraction.
Most boys will be able to retract their foreskins by the time they are 5 years old, yet others will not be able to until the teen years. As a boy becomes more aware of his body, he will most likely discover how to retract his own foreskin. But foreskin retraction should never be forced. Until the foreskin fully separates, do not try to pull it back. Forcing the foreskin to retract before it is ready can cause severe pain, bleeding, and tears in the skin.

Well about 80% of us men in this world who do have foreskins and choose to keep them would disagree with you there. It's not difficult to retract and clean beneath, so the only smelly ones are the same guys who wouldn't clean if they were cut either, so would smell anyway.

I supposedly was circumcised, but my foreskin really wouldn't fully retract until my wife and I really started having really serious sex while I was in the army.
I'm learning more about the poor state of affairs with the medical profession in small towns in Oklahoma where I grew up. The doc who did me likely didn't really know what he was doing. Good thing he didn't go too far rather than not far enough.

Actually foreskin is extra skin for male (when we r baby it's only cover our penis)...circumcised or not it's does't matter, just like human's hair if u short u look tidy and long u must be take care about it.... most ppl circumcised because of their religion or foreskin too long (advice by doctor)...:)

I don't know what type of doctor your seeing but mine never said that it was extra skin. It makes the tip more sensitive.
I was never circumcised and when my son was born he wasn't either. I showed him how to retract it and clean himself properly. It's plain and simple hygiene.
My son was 2 years old when his retracted and I was finnaly able to clean it.
Maybe your doctor can give better advice in this matter.
Extra skin now thats a new one.

I found an article in wikipedia regarding this topic. The link to the article is:

Hopefully you find the information useful. You should not try to force the foreskin of your child. You should allow nature to do it for them as they get older.

Why do you do that? In Europe there is only a medical (phimosis) or religious (Muslim or Jewish) reason for a circumcision. Uncut men have no more cancer or somthing else and if you clean it every day it will not smell...:)
I love my foreskin and i would not miss it. ;)

if nature had not to have foreskin why did it provide us with on, I agree it is there for a purpose to protect and provide sensitivity, yes there are medical reasons for removal as with any medical emergency it should be addressed. religious dictates are what they are but not a natural occurrence so why bother any way until a chap can choose for himself if that is his religious persuasion, but to merciless circumcise before consent to me it morally wrong. I like my fore skin and its staying

Your child should also be circumcised because of the importance of health for our penis

Care to explain how circumcision improves penis health?

getting circumsized does not hury. Statistics show that males taht are circumsized are overall healthier and less likely to get diseases.

I'm not circumsized and also not my son. We're as healthy as can be. Just wash every day and there's no smell. I've never heard of any medical evidence that circumsizion betters your general health - that sounds real @#$% to claim anything like that!!!

Circumcision does hurt. Quite a lot, actually, as evidenced by the video on this page: http://www.givingbirthnaturally.com/circumcision-video.html Pay particular attention when the baby stops crying and starts screaming.
They have actually now developed a new, drug laden "5 step procedure" to reduce the pain. This link explains it in detail: http://www.moheltraining.com/video_circumcision.html
I posted them as links for 2 reasons. 1: I couldn't find any embed code for them. 2: They're pretty graphic and even if I could embed them, I don't think many people, even here, would want to see them.
I just can't help but wonder... If circumcision doesn't hurt, why does the baby start to scream when he does? And why would doctors have to come up with a complicated, and probably dangerous, procedure just to reduce that pain?

I wasn't circumsized at birth. And no one told me what a foreskin was. I did not know there was a difference until junior high on the first day of school during 7th grade and on the first day to shower in the school showers. I was the only one with foreskin and everyone else was circumsized. I was so embarrassed. And talk about body shame. Why were these people different from me? No one would tell me.
The following year, it was me and my younger brother and he and I were the only ones not circumsized. We had to shower after sports practice after school as we were both in the same sport.
I didn't know that I had foreskin and the others did not. I didn't know I was the more normal one than them. I didn't know that the foreskin could retract until my second semester freshman year in college.
I got circumsized like ten years ago. I was quite happy about it. About a month later, the glands that still produce that liquid behind the glans began to dry up. That was quite tormentful, as they dried up and the itching was so unbearable. It was excruciating for about a half hour until finally the itching stopped. But since then, the circumsision was worth it.
The difference is like night and day. But that's just me. Those people that talk against circumcision really should point out that not circumsizing is their own opinion. No one should try to encourage or discourage anyone. A parent should make his/her own choice for their children, and if they choose not, then allow the child to make that decision. I am glad I did it. I wish I had done it when I was much younger, like before those junior high/high school showers.
I do encourage all parents to make sons (and daughters) aware of foreskin and the purpose of it and the reason for not having it. I also encourage all parents to have a much more open communication with their children.

Gah!
That was one of the most hideous, barbaric things I have seen in a long time! It hurt just to watch it.

Heck. I'd supposedly been circumcised when young, but I still had most of my foreskin, and it wouldn't retract until my wife and I started having some really good sex a couple years into our marriage.
Circumcision has value. If the foreskin does not retract for cleaning, you can get infected underneath. I was a medic in Vietnam. One of our patients got a very green muck underneath his foreskin. Doc sent him for circumcision, as it was evident that he didn't clean himself.
